They used to scam people with shitty magic tricks but, uh oh, wild magic, everyone around is now a cat or dog.

Sorry for inactivity, I have been very ill and don’t have the energy to do anything but sleep or briefly yell about something then go back to sleep. Had a fever for like 4 days now :D

Wanna go insane and draw my Tav and Astarion and Karlach, but eugh. I don’t have the energy to come up with more than a little doodle in my brain.

Gale got Incubus Charm-ed by Harleep, and he has a lot of good, dangerous spells, so I was understandably worried.

It gets to his turn, when everyone is standing pretty close together. He has fireball and ice storm, and is pretty set against us.

Instead of using those deadly spells, he decides, still working against the rest of the party, that he will cast globe of invulnerability, not on Harleep, but himself and Astarion, chug a potion of Glorious Vaulting, and then run away from the globe.

I just…. I choose to believe that his love for his friends and Tav (romance) stopped him from hurting them, and not just because he would be expending a high level spell slot.

Nothing in this game has upset me more than not being able to turn Cazador into a sheep and knock him off the edge anymore.

The fact that Astarion, the character built on having seduced and manipulated hundreds of people for his master - who routinely disguises himself and lies to get out of situations - whose inspiration points all rely on trickery….

Has a 10 in Charisma.

He has no modifier to his charisma rolls.

He has nothing.

And yet he gets everyone to love him.

So, I played BG3 when it was in pre-release for Mac, and I wasn’t very well-versed in all the characters. I was only aware of the four main (Gale, Astarion, Shadowheart and Lae’zel). I don’t even know if Karlach was around when I first started playing.

But when it fully re-leased and I could play it for real, I decided to just recreate my pre-release Tav for my full game…

And then when I encountered Karlach and realised, oh damn, she’d be fun to date?

I couldn’t.

Because I travel with my most important people and having two barbarian teiflings seemed like a waste.

So, I had to silently suffer as I made it through the acts, and ended up making an entire new character with the same actions as my original, just to seduce Karlach and have her on my team.

Gale really says he isn’t comfortable sharing Tav because they won’t devote themself to him entirely, while he is planning on literally killing himself for his ex-girlfriend.

Okay, I love Asterion. I love his personality, his pettiness, his accent, etc. (Disregard my seducing Gale in my current, first run)

But why the hell does he sleep like that?

Just- back to the ground, arms splayed at his sides, wrists up to the sky? I don’t care if it has lore importance, he looks dumb doing it (I love him even more for it)

Been meaning to do a pre and post chaos Mayhem and I like to think he used to be a Chaotic Good and evolved to just a chaotic neutral.

Dude was just a little bard who wanted peace and now he's just tired.

The thing that Baldur's Gate got right is that each companion is both extremely cool, tempered with an appropriate dose of cringe.

Gale is a powerful wizard. He uses the phrase 'pish posh' unironically.

Lae'zel is a badass. She asks you to fight her and then gets emotional because you're fighting even though that was her idea.

Karlach. Badass. But we've all seen her idle dance moves.

Wyll is this swashbuckling vigilante and he has a pose he does whenever he says his own superhero name.

Shadowheart. Dark backstory, still striving so hard for the light. Makes a joke about poisonous flowers that falls incredibly flat.

Astarion. Capable rogue and a dangerous vampire. He practises his one-liners ahead of time. Within earshot of the people he wants to use them on.
