francis how would you do a vampires teeth so that theyre like. more unsettling in ur opinion
i think honestly a good place to start would be just looking at blood sucking animals in nature, because in most cases their mouths would look pretty unsettling when applied to human anatomy
vampire bats are an obvious starting point but they dont look too uncanny for the most part until you take some liberties w/ it
if youre thinking more along the lines of “nah id prefer to enact psychological warfare against anyone who calls vampires sexy” a lamprey is a GREAT starting point
or a tick
these are just ideas for starting points of course, theres no Rule That Vampire Must Resemble Animal but i think looking to nature is really helpful with creature design and combining animal traits onto human shapes is a great way to make a really fucked up scary looking creature.
but really all a vampire needs to do is to be able to access blood (either by opening a wound and lapping it up as the victim bleeds or getting its mouth into the body and sucking) so like you have a TON of options so you can kind of just go wild with it.
So you might be saying: Lion why a guide on drawing black people? Well young blood it’s because a lot of people cant…seem…to draw…black people..Amazing I know.
Racist (caricatures) portrayals of black people have been around forever, and to this day people can’t seem to draw black people like they are human. If your artwork resembles any of the above even remotely your artwork is racist and offensive. If you try to excuse that as a stylistic choice you’re not only a terrible artist, but racist too!!! Congrats.
Whitewashing is also a problem. A lot of people refuse to draw black features on canonly black characters. While this example isn’t colored, lightening the skin-tone of a character is also considered whitewashing. So lets start with features!
Now all black people have different noses thats a no-brainer, but black noses tend to have flatter bridges, and wider nostrils. Please stay from triangular anime noses and small button noses. Your drawings should not depict black people with abnormally large noses. (Especially if you do not draw other characters this way)
If you feel like the way you draw lips on black characters is offensive or resembles a caricature,it probably does and you should change it. ABSOLUTELY AVOID PLACING LIPS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FACE.
Hair is so diverse! Please get used to drawing braids, locs, kinks and coils! If you can learn to draw ringlets and long waves you can learn how to draw black hairstyles.
Add clips! Learn how to draw baby-hairs and never be afraid to add color Pinterest and Google are free my dudes! Also try using square brushes for blocking in coils.
OK THAT’S ALL YOU GUYS
I forgot I have to be active here so here’s my Twitter tutorial on how to draw folds I made a while back to help a friend!
How would you draw a muscular guy who also has a bit of tum because I have a character who’s really strong and muscular but a bit chub. I love your art and style and the way you draw anatomy.
I’m terrible at explaining things through text but here’s my best shot~
I was advised for better results define the muscles in the arm more~ Doesn’t look like a Tiny Tum tho~ More like a Beer Belly… :P
Idk if this will help.
Really crappy/quick tutorial on how I draw muscles?
I tend to draw muscles very simply, and there are tons of other tutorials that are waaaaayyyy better! But I hope you enjoy yungterra!
A small guide for people who struggle with this area
hi! since u mentioned dreads earlier, i thought it would be a good time to ask if you have any tips on drawing dreadlocks!! i'm doing my best but it doesn't always turn out how i want it too, so any advice would be helpful!!
I use a lot of shorthand to draw krav fast, but here’s a loose tutorial for how i do natural dreadlocks. 1.) Draw your boy. Indicate the hairline so you know where to start. 2.) Use straight lines to indicate what direction you want the strands to hang and fall. 3.) Draw bumpy lines over the straight lines. Consider how thick you want the strands to actually be, and how they rest on the head.
4.) Use short curved lines to indicate where the strands twist off from the scalp and where the strand ends, curving to kind of a point. 5.) Gradually build off the individual strands from the mass of hair. You can also draw a bit of fuzz here and there, depending on how neatly twisted/kept the dreads are. 6.) erase small sections and at jewelry/charms at leisure.
Final step: color the boy.
How do I choose which details to draw in non-photorealistic art? I feel so tempted to try and draw everything, but then it looks too busy and cluttered. So many illustrators seem to have a balance of realistic proportions and stuff but not as many details
In semi-realistic styles, you have to choose what to keep and what to simplify. My advice would be to keep detail in the areas of focus (the face and the hands are good points of focus). Within the face, you also have smaller areas of focus, such as the eyes, nose, and mouth.
If you’re having trouble with drawing TOO much detail, try this exercise:
1) Try to draw the body/object/face in as few lines as possible while still looking like the original.
2) Then, figure out which parts look weird without the detail (the face, and eyes especially, will probably look flat or fake) and add in as much as needed.
Also! Don’t be afraid to look at those illustrators you think are doing this well and studying where they put how much detail in their drawings. You can learn a lot from observing other artists!

Hell yeah' more shitpost drawing studies'
I mostly to these scribbles/notes for myself, but sharing is caring and my brain simple won't acknowledge and comprehend how light works.
It's actually so simple doing shadows ( in theory ), still' i wanna rip and tear at my hair whenever i actaully have draw dynamic ones.
If you don't mind me asking, how do you draw faces and heads in general?
HELLO YES IM SO SORRY I TOOK FOREVER. I’VE SORTA COVERED A LITTLE BIT OF THIS, SO I’LL LINK MY OTHER “TUTORIALS” AT THE END. HERE WE GO
Okay so I hope that helped!!! Obviously these vary based on the design, race, and age of your character, but it’s all rooted in the same basic,,, tHiNg.
Here’s the nose and eye tutorial (just skip the hands 😬):
