I will acquise, with having Only read the Iliad and not read the stories where Achilles "falls madly in love" with Deidemia, it's very easy to interpret this man as being gay* and plainly not actually interested in women as anything beyond a status symbol. Sure he "acquires" women from Lesbos for himself and Patroclus, and is upset when Briseis is taken from him but it's easy to read that as expectation/obligation and his pride being hurt, respectively, moreso than him being genuinely interested in women.
Patroclus, well, i don't think we spend enough time with him to know but I feel like it could go either way, with him being either gay or bisexual
*i am aware that our modern terminology and understanding of sexuality is not the same as sexuality from any other time but for simplicity sakes i'm using gay and bisexual
I get that Victor was irresponsible for leaving the monster on his own but if a barely alive eight foot tall glowing eyed man was looming over me yeah I’d just kinda run too
I really wish I was like one of those little fruit flies. It would be really fun to just pick one guy and drive him insane with my relentless buzzing.
I picked the wrong character to steal a personality from and now I’m going on my villain arc. Try to stop me.
Corban minixode
Guys in Hawaiian shirts either have life figured out or are going through their midlife crisis
I’m kinda confused
I just read the Posthomerica by Quintus Smyrnaeus and it stated that Hectors son was killed by unspecified Greeks. I had always believed that it was Odysseus because of Epic and other sources in popular media. Was this just added to improve his character arc, or was it stated that it was Odysseus in the Odyssey or another source?
i personally think the reason for my headaches is not dehydration or any kind of deficiency but the amount of greek mythology brainrot i‘m consuming
I give up actually im not a person who has friends
I’m so forgetful I can’t even remember to
“…seeing that my dear comrade Patroclus has fallen—he whom I valued more than all others, and loved as dearly as my own life.” - Achilles
(When Achilles’ son arrived at Troy)
Odysseus: …who’s gonna tell him his dad was gay?
Diomedes: His dad wasn’t gay gay
Odysseus: Ah yes, he shared a tent and bed with his not gay platonic friend. He avenged said friend not gayly and never took a wife.
