Wasn't expecting to get called out so early this morning.....
That's neurodiversity babe!
Wondering how many would want a Shadow Druid version of Halsin written....
One of my favourite things is getting to see Chinese students trying to learn English at school finally being able to shake English speakers and yell "WHY IS YOUR LANGIAGE LIKE THIS????"
I finally got the Halsin proposition/sex cutscenes and I have no idea what some of you are talking about. "Oh he comes on too strong" "He's so pushy" like did we watch the same cutscene? He asks, and if you're already partnered, he asks you to go to them and see how they'd feel about it, and says he wouldn't do anything without anyone's permission. He's so kind and lovely about it. If you say no, or your romanced character says no, then nothing happens and he respects it. Playing the game with Halsin in my team just makes me more aware of some of the lies I've seen going around about my boy.
That moment of feeling old when you hear a word you don't recognize and you have no idea if it's an app, a service, a product, a brand or a new slang term, etc....
-Gee, if only there was some way to make him tougher, to make him a class that is specifically designed to do that instead of control the battlefield and buff companions and debuff enemies.....what do you think, Withers? Don't you feel so frustrated that all our companions have these classes and no way to change them? Oh wait.....
-Should I ask if these same people have a problem with Jaheira or do they magically somehow manage to make her work because they're willing to figure out how she works best?
-Do they know how to make the Druid class work, or is this something they're using as an excuse for their bias? I mean, I struggled with the Barbarian class, but that doesn't mean Karlach should be considered useless nor that the class is bad.
-If you send your cleric to do the tanking, should we be surprised if they're getting stomped on? The whole point of the Druid class is making the terrain work in your favor. That's how Larian games work in general too. It's why there are high ground penalties, why you pay attention to elemental resistances, why concentration spells are a pain because they cancel each other out, why stats affect how far you move or how fast you react.
"Halsin is useless he can't take a hit and he's not strong"
HES NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HE'S A DRUID.
"He can't cast spells in wildshape smh what's the point"
Wild shape is a defense mechanism! You only wild shape as a last resort. Druids have a lot of spells meant to keep enemies away, you cast wall spells, field of thorns, everything you can to keep enemies away. Once in wild shape, they gain a new set of hit points. So say halsin gets down to 3 hp and he's suddenly surrounded by enemies. THAT IS WHEN YOU WILDSHAPE. Thats why wildshape only gets like 2 charges!!! Don't send him into a hoard of enemies in wildshape he's gunna get killed!
Gods. I'm tired of people saying he's useless in battle. You just think bc he's giant and can be a bear he's supposed to be a a melee attacker. He's squishy!! He's a lover not a fighter!!!
Abolish Tesla.
I love Liara to death but sometimes it does frustrate me how hard the games push you towards her. I'm not romancing Liara. I didn't romance her in ME1. Why does my Shepard have to have so much weird romantic tension with her when they're just friends?
With characters like Garrus and Tali you can see how Shepard has a brilliant friendship with them even if they are not romanced. But with Liara, Ashley and Kaiden it just feels like the games are forcing you to interact with them romantically. Which is sad, because it diminishes their characters as friends and squad mates as well as just romance options.
I wish I could describe just how weird it is to see so much love for this character when you're coming in from a fandom era where the overall attitude towards him was "Ew, he's old" or "He's SO borrrrriiiing!" And most of the affection was neck and neck between Solas and Cullen.
The pendulum has swung I guess
The only reason Blackwall doesn’t look like this in game is because if he did look like this no one would want to sleep with egg man or the catholic cop
I'll never get tired of seeing Halsin included in this cutscene. It was....not a fun discovery back in the older versions seeing him missing. I figured I'd at least settle for Tav exploring this tower without anyone on the team if Halsin wasn't showing up, but the game auto selected 2 random teammates instead 😑.
It's often the little things like that, that can enhance a game for me.
