they're so silly
i finished fishman island!!
although i wasn't hooked from the beginning, this arc really grew on me! i really loved seeing the straw hats together again after their 2 year break. considering how emotional i was from everything that happened in marineford, it took a while to adjust to the new change of pace in the series! but seeing how strong & confident the members were made me feel so proud!!
each member of the grew worked hard to become stronger individuals for themselves AND for their captain/crew. some members trained to become physically stronger, some took the time to educate themselves, and some did both! zoro, nami, luffy, & robin are my personal favorite straw hats, so seeing them as better versions of themselves made me really happy!!! i love how hard everyone worked, and you could see it all pay off in this arc!
once i read/watched more of this arc, i started to really enjoy the plot! It was a very different side of one piece that we hadn't seen yet, other than in the sabaody archipelago arc. it expanded on the prejudice & discrimination that fishmen faced throughout history. how the hatred finds its way to the children, which creates more hatred. i really loved the narrator's monologue during the scene where jimbei gives his blood to luffy. it perfectly summarized the painful history between humans & fishmen. with jimbei's selfless act, it begins a new path for fishman island.
personally, this arc isn't in my top 5, but i really did enjoy it! i found it to be fun and the plot very interesting. i also really liked that we found out what the ancient weapon actually was in this arc after hearing about it for so long.
overall, i really loved how this arc showed us how much the straw hats grew during the timeskip. everyone did their best to become stronger so they could be prepared for the journey to the new world. i find it beautiful how devoted they are to each other and to their captain. i'm looking forward to what's next!
this made me want to read the manga. i miss them so much 🫂
lovely complex? i find it quite simple
kagehina on their lunch break everyday and they somehow always lose track of time and get yelled at for being late to class.
they should be doing their homework
castlevania season 2 finale was so bittersweet. highlighting sypha and trevor's development while also emphasizing alucard's grief. i was so happy that sypha and trevor had decided to stay together. their relationship has so much potential to grow, and i am so excited to see where it goes from here! on the other hand, alucard sitting alone in his home breaking down made my chest hurt so much. the only people who have known him since birth are gone and now he's left all by himself. i'm hoping alucard can heal from everything that happened and even have a chance to find his own happiness.
these three have grown so close in such a short time, i'm hoping it won't be long until they reunite again <3
my family…
(kofi request) brothers who (try to) carry each other
i think it’s so cute that denji is just following what aki does even if it’s not perfect. they’re family 😭😭😭
anybody else think of little details like this where denji isn’t doing something correctly because I do. I think about it a lot and I might cry.
the ending i deserved
(kofi request) the scene we had all been anticipating 💙
ever since i started impel down, nearly every episode has made me cry. especially episode 444, where the admiral tells ace, “this is the last time you’ll see the sky.” then ace just closes his eyes and soaks it all in.
it’s so upsetting knowing how kind & gentle ace is while the government condemns him as a “terrible criminal”. every scene before this arc, ace is seen being sweet, strong, & silly yet now he’s completely defeated. he isn’t meant to be chained up, he’s meant to be traveling the seas enjoying his life of adventure.
while ace is being sent to his death, luffy is doing everything he can to reach him. he nearly died from poison, yet his fighting spirit is still strong. no matter what, luffy isn’t giving up on his big brother. it breaks my heart to see luffy so desperate, but i hope he’s able to see ace before the worst happens.
what is one series you wish you could rewatch for the first time?
easiest question of my life one hundred percent fullmetal alchemist brotherhood it’s such a a good show and i love it a lot speaking of i need to do a ramble of it soon!
