CaitVi Fic Update

I know I'm not the only one but by God your writing is incredible. Low lays the devil and Heart made of glass have been my favorite CaitVi fics of all time. Everything you've written has been pure magic! ❤💙

The fact that I only just got back into writing, after almost a decade, a few months ago makes this comment even more incredible to me. Thank you so much. The fact that any of you love it is insane, but to have it be anyone’s favorite? I’m on cloud nine. Thank you so much! ❤️💙

So, I really don’t think I would ever do this, but if I had to rewrite any of my three CaitVi fics, it would be Tethered. Not because I hate it, because I have had so much fun writing it, but because now that I know where it’s going, I kind of wish I took my time to get there more and elaborated on some things more. If that makes sense.

Petition to make the “post” and “preview” button on ao3’s chapter section in two different places or two different colors or something to differentiate them more. The number of times I’ve almost clicked post instead of preview is a lot 🤣

I just have some editing to do and a final read through of the next chapter of “Low Lays the Devil in Me” and you guys will have 7500 words of the battle at Stillwater to enjoy! It’s super action packed and it’s the longest sequence of non-stop action I’ve written by a mile! It was fun but hard to write, but I think you guys will enjoy it. It still is in line with the M rating and I don’t get descriptive of gore or anything like that, but buckle up for a lot of violence as the darker side of Caitlyn and Vi will be fully fleshed out. This chapter, more than any of the others, represents the title of this fic very closely.

I've noticed a bit of a trend with my fics where, in terms of in-story time frames, Caitlyn and Vi fall for each other in a short time and I'm like "hmm, should I have made it longer to be more believable?" But then I remember the time they spent together in S1 was probably no more than 24-48 hours and these gay ass bitches were asking "what about us?" by the end of those few days and we ate it up like goblins 😂

Hey everyone. So do not worry! This isn't me saying I'm not going to keep writing Heart Made of Glass (I have 1000 words written of the next chapter) but now that holidays are over, I might not be as quick on the draw for chapter updates.

The main reason, if anyone wants to know, is that I am dungeon master for 2 dnd games. We only play 4 times a month, but as the DM, I have outside planning/prep to do for the games. It doesn't take long, but in combination with the games themselves, it might slow down my writing of this fic a little, but not by much! For example, today I have a rare Sunday off of work, but I have dnd tonight and I have to prep for it, which might take an hour or two that I won't have for writing and even potentially editing (which can sometimes take as long as writing the actual chapter). So the next chapter might go out tomorrow instead of today. But we'll see!

P.S. Who knows, maybe I'll be able to do both, but I don't want to burn out. Slower updates are better than no updates

P.P.S. some people have asked/been saying they've been impressed with the near machine like way I've been able to put out "high quality content" (to quote one of you) so quickly. I absolutely attribute a great deal of that to dnd and being a dungeon master. Maybe I'll make a separate post about that one day since I think it has helped my actual writing and the process so much, which makes me wonder if anyone else feels that way.

Vi and Caitlyn glared at the woman. “Would you like to come with us to be our chaperone? Or is that too far away from the safety of your ivory tower?” Vi asked with a sneer. “It is hardly an outlandish question,” Mel defended. “We’ve all been teenagers in love before and we cannot take any chances that this assignment will be compromised because of hormones.” Vi felt her ears go hot at the woman suggesting they were in love, but pushed aside her embarrassment. “Worry about the things you can control, Councilor Medarda, and we’ll do the same,” Caitlyn said, her voice borderline condescending.

Cassandra chuckled darkly. “When I lie awake at night thinking about what those Wardens are doing to Violet, I entertain the same fantasy.” Caitlyn met her mother’s gaze over the blueprints and suddenly felt a strong sense of kinship with her over how much they both cared for Vi.

Caitlyn snorted. “If that’s the word you want to use.” “And what would you call it?” “Gaudy.” Vi mimicked her snort. “Pot, meet kettle.” Caitlyn clicked her tongue behind her teeth. “While my family and I don’t hide the fact that we are wealthy, at least we don’t shove it in everyone’s faces.” “Your front yard has two massive water fountains that are the size of the one-room basement my family lives in, princess. You have a wrought iron gate surrounding your castle that literally separates you from the rest of Piltover,” Vi replied with the most condescending tone Caitlyn’s heard from her yet.
