disorganised thoughts
You asked for it, so here it is- a shoddily composed but nonetheless candid and hopefully useful tutorial on the Mosaic Effect I used in the Mollymauk portrait. Those of a stout and courageous spirit, read on.

Some drawing tips I was asked for. I might draw later how to draw expressions and hands, but for now, here, thanks for the interest! And hope this is useful!
Can I get some tips for drawing heads facing upwards? The neck and chin always confuse me.
Yes! This is one of the hardest angles to get right, imo, because it’s such a rare position to find ourselves in. That, plus the foreshortening needed to get the face just right.
I’d start by doing some studies. Here, I traced over these stock photos to figure out where the contour lines of the jaw go, and the sculptural quality of the neck.
Then, I used the knowledge to draw a head freehand.
Some important notes:
The chin slopes into the neck with a pad of fat, muscle, and skin. Therefore, you shouldn’t follow the contour of the jaw. It shows as a “shelf”, as in you can see the shadow underneath. In people with more prominent fat, there will be less of a change in angle, and you will see less shadow under the jawbone.
Some people have a prominent adam’s apple that you can see on the track of the trachea.
The sternocleidomastoid muscle is important to show. It connects from just behind the ear to the clavicle. It is used in the turning of the head.

I taught myself to paint because I don’t have the patience for crisp lineart and now you know how to paint too
I don’t really think I’m that good at anatomy (or females) but this is quite a popular request so… I’m making a tutorial, and this is the part to show you what NOT to do with your fellow humans. More coming… eventually.
I suck at breast variations, but I try; see this page for awesome references: x
Any advice on necks? they are my nemesis ;;
Im not gonna go into detail w the muscles but if you wanna learn the specifics here are some good diagrams! 1,2 Hope that helps a little! Look up rl refs too!
I forgot I have to be active here so here’s my Twitter tutorial on how to draw folds I made a while back to help a friend!

Yesterday was my “Free to draw” day, and I was of course, drawing my guilty pleasure that is goth nerd boys. In light of the many beetles in my room that have crawled their way in, I decided to make this beetle witch character.
I thought I show people my thought process when creating a character. This is basically it, I always start by drawing the face then getting a concept, which ends with the body/colors scheme. Depending on the character, this process can take hours, days or a couple of minutes. I plan to make a full illustration of this guy, pretty soon.

I don’t know why y’all ask me for tutorials, I think mine might be the least helpful in the world haha. TuT Mostly I just draw the thing people are asking about over and over again. But!!! @floriani1 and @governmenthookerleaderofamerica, I hope this helps with your nose-drawing woes.
I still struggle with facial feature diversity, including noses (namely at this point I want to give everybody big hooky noses because I LOVE them ahhh) so I feel u guys, fight the good fight.
