Weekly Reading Recs Pt.5 - Blog Posts

Well, here’s another late post because finals were keeping me too busy.

Starting Monday (4th) I have finals so this week I haven’t been reading as much because of the amount of homework and studying I have to do. Luckily, I’m going to have a couple weeks free before I start my summer classes.

𝘚𝘜𝘔𝘔𝘈𝘙𝘠: Sherlock stared at the imperfect circle on his left wrist in horror, then sat down on his bed with a bit of a thump. After over thirty years, his heartmark was finally showing activity. This was not good.

𝘊𝘖𝘔𝘔𝘌𝘕𝘛𝘚: I’ve really found myself falling for fics where Sherlock falls for John first and thinks its unrequited but it’s actually not. It’s oddly specific but one of my favorite types of fics.

𝘚𝘜𝘔𝘔𝘈𝘙𝘠: John may be predictably average in most things, but there are a handful of areas in which he knows he is uncommonly skilled. He can make a great cup of tea, for one. He’s also good at patching folks up, putting bullets precisely where he wants them, and listening.

The one skill that John is perhaps most exceptonal in, though, is language. John is a polyglot.

“Really? But the way you two talk and touch each other...and you live together. You smell exactly the same too, like you’ve rolled around in each others scent. You’ve been inseparable since you got here even. I just thought...” Ryan trails off with a look of disbelief, his cigarette forgotten in his hand.

Sometimes new words replace them, whether they’re wanted or not.

(These were the words Steve was was born with, running in a messy, uneven line across his skinny little chest, beneath both his collar bones: You okay pal? Those jerks didn’t hurt ya too bad, did they?

Steve woke up from the ice in 2011 with the words, Who the hell is Bucky? circling his heart, in printing so precise it barely looked human.

𝘊𝘖𝘔𝘔𝘌𝘕𝘛𝘚: I loved this fic (as I am clearly a sucker for soulmate aus)! What as really interesting to me was how the author portrayed soulmarks and what happens to them during Steve and Bucky’s lives.

𝘚𝘜𝘔𝘔𝘈𝘙𝘠: Xie Lian’s soulmate died a long time ago, he grieved and mourned, cried and screamed. Its really too unfortunate how he falls in love with someone still waiting for their soulmate to come back.

Or. Soulmate AU where you feel your soulmates pain and hualian have a bit of a miscommunication going on.
