Would Sylvie Use HWR’s Tempad To See Loki?

Note: I haven’t watched S2 more than once yet (life’s been busy) so if I missed something where Sylvie loses the Tempad then that’s why.

Since the only ways to get to the End of Time is to go through Alioth or use HWR’s tempad, I’ve been wondering if Sylvie would use the tempad to see Loki.

Personally, I don’t think so. Sylvie cares about Loki, but I don’t think enough to see it. Throughout S2, Sylvie was mostly disagreeing or getting upset with Loki and she didn’t want to see him after killing HWR. Also, I think Sylvie has this practical mindset where she doesn’t see the point of visiting him when she’s not going to stay. She could see it as painful for Loki since it could be argued that being exposed to something you desire then have it go away is worse than not having it at all since you’re used to it.

Sylki Rewrite

Sylki Rewrite

(Note: Although I don’t like Sylki, I don’t have a problem with anyone who ships them.) Warning: Internalized Homophobia Mention

Two weeks ago, I binged the Loki series. To put it shortly, I loved it! Loki has one of the best character development I’ve ever seen. He moved past his insecurities and realized what he truly wanted- to be loved and seen. The time aspect was easy to digest and didn’t complicate or overinflate the concept too much. I loved the new characters, especially Mobius and O.B. Mobius and Loki’s chemistry was amazing and so natural, which makes sense since Mobius was his first friend. O.B. was lovable and so nerdy. I hope they both return to future projects. Though I didn’t connect with her as much, B-15 was a good addition, and would be happy to see her return. When it comes to Sylvie, I'm mixed with her. She’s well-written for the most part, but I didn’t like the Sylki romance in S1, and her attitude got irritating in S2 (I'll most likely write a separate post on it). Alongside thinking Loki being attracted to a version of himself is weird, their romance felt rushed and unnatural. I couldn’t really see Loki being attracted to/like/in love with someone that quickly and Sylvie looked like she barely tolerated him, even in the second season. Honestly, I think this romance was pushed by Disney instead of the writers, mainly because there was a moment in Episode 4 where Mobius rants about how strange the attraction was. I’d like to think that was the writers calling out Disney for how weird this idea was. I would’ve liked it more if Loki and Sylvie had a sibling-like relationship. I would’ve written it where Loki feels protective of Sylvie because he sees a bit of himself in her such as his anger, loneliness, and wish to belong somewhere. But, he also respects her because she lived alone and in survival mode, teaching herself how to use magic and escape death. In turn, Sylvie sort of resents Loki, especially when he mentions his relationship with Frigga, since he lived in Asgard and had a family while she lived alone and in fear. I would have a scene where Sylvie lashes out at him (maybe when he accidentally breaks the Tempad), calling him a fool for taking his family’s love for granted. On the other hand, Loki snapped and said how she had the chance to be her true self while Loki lived under Thor’s shadow and Asgard’s expectations. Maybe go as far as to mention how he felt he had to hide his bisexuality and genderfluidity out of fear of not being accepted. By the end of the argument, both realize how their pain does not absolve others and that there is good and bad in their lives. Other than the kiss scene, the scene with Loki trying to stop Sylvie from killing He Who Remains was great.

I was so glad S2 left the ship behind. It was one of the reasons why I think S2 is a big improvement. I can’t really describe their relationship since there are moments when they get along but there are others when Sylvie is really standoffish and doesn't seem to like Loki. Maybe the closest description would be bickering siblings, which is close to what I wanted.

Did anyone else get nervous that there would be a Sylki kiss in the S2 finale? I was, especially when he was trying to stop her from killing HWR again. If they did, it would've messed with my enjoyment since there was no indication in previous episodes that they were continuing the romance. Thankfully, they didn't and the finale was perfect, even if it broke my heart that Loki will live alone for as long as he's alive. I wanted him to be happy with everyone.

I’ve Been Wanting To Write About Marvel For A While And I Think This A Great Start. I Love Loki As

I’ve been wanting to write about Marvel for a while and I think this a great start. I love Loki as a character and I’ve been wanting to discuss the most popular ships with- Loki x Sylvie and Loki x Mobius.

Personally, I don’t ship Loki and Sylvie together. I know they are technically not the same person, but it’s still weird for me. I don’t dislike it enough to boycott the show or stop watching it, though I would prefer them to be friends.

I see Loki’s interaction with Sylvie as a way to reflect on himself and his actions. Kind of like looking in a mirror. Loki and Sylvie can benefit from each other in a way they can recognize their detrimental flaws and work to be a better person as friends.

I’m not a Loki x Mobius fanatic, yet I still think they could be a good couple. Their chemistry is nice and they can benefit from each other. Plus, we can finally get some same-sex representation in Marvel. I might get fully on board when they have more time together.

What do you guys think? 😁💕

I don’t think the Loki/Sylvie thing is really about romance. It’s about Loki seeing his true potential, a better version of himself, and loving what he could become. It’s about him believing in himself and fundamentally changing his concept of what is at the core of a “Loki.” And that power, the power of self love and determinism, is enough to create a nexus event in the midst of an apocalypse.

Loki And Sylvie Both Wanted To See What Was Beyond The TVA. Sylvie Because She Wanted To Destroy It,

Loki and Sylvie both wanted to see what was beyond the TVA. Sylvie because she wanted to destroy it, and Loki, because he wanted to rule it. So if Sylvie’s goal was to take down the dictator and create the power void, Loki’s was to fill the void.

They’re the gambit.

I Will Find You

I Will Find You

*NOT A SHIP POST BETWEEN SYLVIE AND LOKI*

Summary: All Loki Variants have one thing that can’t be taken from them. Something that the stars say is true. A soulmate.

Word Count: 3,056

Warnings: sadness, (not really angst) mentions of killing/dying, implied smut, just all the Loki’s being soft. [Lmk if I missed any]

A/N: This is my first time posting on Tumblr so if it’s crap my bad. but hey, at least I did something. Also this was a random idea I had because of all the Loki fics or one-shots with Y/n and how all the Y/n’s help him and make him feel worthy. So bam! I hope you enjoy.

This will contain LOKI spoilers for episode 5. This is your warning.

The sound of Ravonna’s heels hitting the floor could be heard by the minutemen guarding the door. Which was also greeted with her throwing open the door to the time theater.

With swift words Ravonna speaks, “Leave us.”

The two men made synced movements while walking out of the room, per her request. Ravonna walked slowly towards the wall as the doors closed behind her. As she approached the correct wall she took out her replacement TemPad.

She typed in a code, before the wall opened up to reveal the ‘gone rouge’ minuteman. Hunter B-15.

The hunter looked up at the judge. Her skin tinted with the redness surrounding the cell she was locked in. A scowl on her face and a glare to match, “Why am I locked in here?”

Ravonna returned her glare with a blank expression not even fazed, “You set the Variant free. You were disloyal to the TVA-”

“Disloyal?”

“Did you think you’d escape punishment?” Ravonna continued.

“Disloyal to who?” B-15 pressed on. “You were in the Time-Keepers chambers. They weren’t real.”

“And you think that changes anything?”

“That changes everything! The people need to know the truth,” B-15 exclaimed.

“No, the TVA needs stability. And until we can figure out what’s going on, that is what it will get.” Raonna took a breath and changed her tone, “So you will tell me everything you know about the Variant.”

“What exactly do you want from me?” B-15 asked, her voice done. She didn’t want to speak to Ravonna anymore.

“You have a link with the Variant. I want you to tell me what drives her.” Ravonna got to the point. She wants to take this mistake down, and she wants to do it now.

“Revenge drives her. Killing the Time-Keepers, but they turned out to be fake, in case you’ve forgotten. So she’ll be searching for whomever created them.” Ravonna downcasted her eyes. B-15 looked at her expression and scoffed. “This isn’t about protecting the TVA at all, is it?”

“That doesn’t really sound like revenge, that sounds like spite.” Ravonna spoke, changing the topic. She didn’t want the ex-Hunter to find out her real reason for wanting to know.

“Don’t you remember?” B-15 inquired. Another scoff laid behind her lips.

“Remember what? What are you babbling about?” Ravonna interrogated.

“The person we took from her. The only thing a Loki can have, their person.” B-15 explained. “And we killed them, to get to her. She’ll find them first.”

“And why is that?”

“Because you only want it. She needs it.” A smirk was the last thing Ravonna saw on ex-Hunter B-15’s face as the doors closed again.

Her angry footsteps were heard in the halls and she spoke to Miss Minute. Motivation seeping into every bone in her body.

~In the Void~

As the Lokis and Mobius sat in their makeshift shelter Classic Loki asked Mobius if he remembered all of them.

“You really don’t remember him?” He pressed, Alligator Loki gave a small growl.

“I mean, the TVA arrested a lot of Lokis, but, no I don’t remember an alligator.” Mobius divulged, “Who’s to say that he is a Loki Variant. Just a long con, which makes him more likely a Loki. Always the game within the game with you guys. I respect that.”

“Mobius,” Kid Loki called with a bit of hesitation in his voice, “when you get back to the TVA what will you do?”

“I don’t know,” Mobius sighed, “I’d like for the people to know the truth.”

“So just like that, you’ll turn your back on something that you’ve devoted your whole life to.” Classic asked.

“It’s never too late to change.” Mobius voiced, his tone soft. It reminded the Lokis of someone.

“Just like my Julie-Rose.” Classic reminisced.

“Who’s that?” Mobius wondered. He’s studied everything about a Loki, but nowhere did it talk about a person.

“Oh? Don’t you remember?” Classic asked, but the look on Mobius’ face made him continue nonetheless, “It's destiny, something written in the stars. The only thing that a Loki can have that is good, their person. The one who will always be by their side.”

Mobius looked on at Kid Loki with an expression asking him to elaborate more. Kid Loki sighed and continued where Classic left off. “The girl, boy, or other that is made for us. In simple terms our soulmate. Someone we are given, that the TVA can’t take away.”

Mobius nodded, understanding the special person. He silently wonders why the files in the TVA don’t talk about this person. The Loki’s only good.

Classic began to remember his person. How sweet she was. “My Julie-Rose found me on the planet I was on. She was the only one to keep me sane. We spent our years together, but she was normal. She died. And I was alone once more. When I was finally ready to leave, the TVA showed up.”

Mobius listened to him, the urge to learn more about a Loki still strong. Kid spaced out, trying to remember everything about his boy. His face becoming foggy, like a distant memory.

“I didn’t even tell him that I liked him.” His voice was soft, “He always told me that I was made for great things, that we were going to be side-by-side forever. But I was the idiot who killed Thor and thought I could get away with it. I never got to tell him. And I barely remember what he looks like.”

Kid’s eyes glistened with unshed tears. The millisecond of pain and weakness almost missed by Mobius. He never knew that a Loki could feel this much pain, that they had a weakness and no one could know about it.

Alligator Loki growled from his place on the floor. A few seconds later Classic spoke again, “He says that his person was going to be his queen. But he made a mistake, and then she was gone. He could never return.”

Kid shifted his gaze from the burning fire to outside their shelter. Tired of trying to remember his face. And his smile. And the way his eyes crinkled when he laughed. More tears built up, but he didn’t let it waver his voice, “I hope they know what they're doing.”

“Mobius is so bad.” Sylvie stated as she and Loki sat outside in the cold wind. Her knees pulled up to her chest to gain as much warmth as possible.

Loki beside her, taking in the cold winds, wishing for their warmth, “Or so good. I think that’s why we get along.”

“He cares about you.” A shiver ran up her spine, the warmth she carved already a distant memory. She looked over at him, and he returned her stare.

A gust of wind blew through, causing the both to shiver some more. Loki rubs his arm trying to reject the cold, while Sylvie embraces it. Like an old friend.

“It’s cold out here.”

“Mmm-hmm.”

They both sat there, in silence, before Loki conjured himself a green and gold blanket. Sylvie stared at the blanket, a small smile present on her lips.

“I could conjure one up for you, if you like.” He offered the same small smile on his face.

“I’m alright, I don’t mind the cold,” She revealed, “but a new outfit would be grand, this one is very uncomfortable.”

The wind blew through again. It embraced Sylvie again, the cold being accepted. Loki looked at her from the corner of his eye, a thought that has bugged him for a while refusing. “You’ve never told me the real reason behind taking down the TVA.”

“What?”

“Well you’ve said that you want to take down the Time-Keepers, and it sounds like revenge. But all they did was take you when you were a girl. I don’t see a lot of motive here.” Loki looked at the woman next to him. She was gazing at the distance. Her eyes held the same look his did, when he watched his life on a screen. When he saw them.

“I wasn’t always alone. I had a partner, but the TVA took them from me.” She started, “We were running together, he found me while I was traveling through apocalypses. Wouldn’t leave my side. Turns out he was a Variant too, but got away just in time.

“It was just the two of us, we ran through apocalypse after apocalypse. We stole rest charges together. Our plan was to cause the total panic to sneak in and kill the Time-Keepers. But we got trapped, surrounded by minutemen. He gave me the TemPad, told me to run. Let himself get caught.

“I hid for three days. Waiting for him to appear again. Waiting for the minutemen to show, but no one came. He died for me, and alone I was again. No one but myself to rely on.” a breeze, a bit calmer from the other ones brushed against Sylvie’s cheek, like a kiss.

Loki looked at her with sadness in his eyes. He was taken from his partner, he never really returned home. He never got to see their smiling face, he never got to hear their praises. He didn’t even get a kiss for his return.

He conjured the blanket to wrap around Sylvie, having them share. She grabbed her end and pulled it closer. Accepting the warmth.

“We were supposed to be wed on my return.” Loki began, “A nice little wedding, just us a few friends and Thor was going to officiate it. Just something the two of us could reminisce while setting up for the much bigger wedding for the whole of Asgard to see.

“They never liked being a royal, just wanted us to be happy and together. Nevertheless, they did it to make me happy. They would’ve done anything for me. And I was trying to take over the world for them. To have a throne fit for two rulers.

“But I failed. And when I tried to return to them, I became stranded. Then the TVA came. Took me away. Showed me the life I would’ve had if I just stayed there. Showed me my death, but also showed me my spouse. And our children. And our life together, if I just stayed there.” Regret started to build up in Loki’s voice.

‘Why couldn’t I have just stayed there.’

“Then we do this for them.” Her words shocked both of them, “And maybe there will be a timeline for us...”

“To finally be happy.” Loki finished.

“Yeah, to finally be happy.”

Both of their minds filled with pleasant memories. Happy memories. The times they wish to be in again.

The small group stood on the edge of a cliff staring at Alioth. Sylvie explains the plan. She then gave the TemPad to Loki, expecting him to use it.

“I’m staying.” He declared before handing it to Mobius.

“There is no way that this will work-” Sylvie tried to reason.

“If you're doing this, then I’m doing this.” Loki cut her off, “Besides, they aren’t waiting for me. No one is.”

“It’s happening guys, the branch will be right there.” Kid pointed out, his machine sounding off.

Mobius made a Timedoor. Ready to leave. “I’ll give your regards to Reinslayer.”

“Oh, please do.” Sylvie said amused.

Mobius then turned to the three other Variants, “You boys want a ticket out of here.”

“What? No, we’re staying here.” Kid said quickly.

“This is our home.” Classic agreed.

“You sure? What about Alioth?” Loki pressed.

“We survived this long. We know what we’re doing.” Classic explained.

“You’ve said it yourself. He isn’t waiting for me. No one is.” Kid spoke again, looking at Loki. “You’re going to need this for your journey.”

Kid then conjured up a blade. Laevateinn. With care Loki grabbed the blade, and made a sheath to hold it on his back.

“Good luck. I hope you find what you’re looking for.” Loki nodded in appreciation. The group of three split off, going to do their part of the task.

Mobius made his way towards the door, before exchanging words with the two Variants that changed his life.

“Looks like you got away in the end.”

“I always do.” Loki stated. Sad to see his friend leave. “What will you do to the TVA?”

“Burn it to the ground.” Mobius said without hesitation. Which received looks of approval from the two Variants. “Thanks for the spark. Well, see you later Loki.”

Loki looked at Mobius’ hand, before pulling him into a hug, “Thank you, my friend.” Looking over Loki’s shoulder he whispered to Sylvie, “You’re my favorite.”

They release one another and Mobius walks through the Timedoor, closing behind him. Leaving the two Variants alone on the cliff. They stared at the enemy, ready to face it.

As the two approached the branch readying to face it, Loki ran off to cause a distraction, the branch taking too long. Sylvie started to enchant it, but Alioth shifted it’s attention to Sylvie, going to stop her from taking over.

Loki ran over yelling at the beast. Trying to get it away from Sylvie before a green light shone.

There on the other side of Alioth was Classic Loki, producing an illusion of Asgard, so real that Alioth went towards it. The urge to consume it is great. But one thing about the illusion, is that there is a tiny cottage a few paces where Classic was standing. It looked warm and new, like someone kept it from becoming old. Like an old home.

Loki met up with Sylvie looking as their old home was being made right in front of them. Just like they remembered.

“GO!” Classic’s yell echoed towards the two. Sylvie grabbed Loki’s hand, he looked at her with surprise.

“What are you doing?” He yelled.

“We are going to enchant it.”

“I don’t know how.” He stated, insecurity started to peek through.

“Yes you do because we are the same.” She encouraged. Sylvie walked them towards Alioth.

Alioth had gone straight for the tall Asgardian palace, but it disappeared before he could eat it. He then went for another building but it disappeared too.

Classic struggled to keep the image, his strength not as strong as it was before. Soon Alioth surrounded Asgard and it began to fall, like it did before.

Sylvie interlaced their fingers. Encouraging Loki more. His hand started to glow, enchanting it too.

Classic falls to his knees. The Asgard replica disappeared faster as Alioth went towards the source. The cottage disappeared slower than the rest. Like it was burning down in a fire, taking its time to become destroyed.

Classic stood once more, trying to use his magic again. “Glorious Purpose!” He yelled, laughing at the end. The cottage now gone, tears in his eyes. One long thought before meeting his demise.

‘Together again, my Julie-Rose.’

Then he was gone, only his helmet remained, rusted and old. Alioth turned quickly, heading towards the other threats. Roaring at them.

Sylvie closed her eyes, concentrating harder. Loki followed suit. And in that moment, time seemed to stop for the both of them. They weren’t in danger anymore, they were safe.

Sylvie felt a hand rub against her naked back. The soft sheets trapped the warmth that his body provided. She sighed at the comfort. His heart beat music to her ears. Light kisses pressed to her head and temple.

“So strong, very, very strong.” He whispered, not wanting to ruin the mood of their little bubble, “So I know that you got this. I have total faith in you.”

Sylvie moved her head back and looked at his face. His hazel eyes staring back at her. The millions of freckles scattered across his face were invisible  in the dim lighting. His black hair is messy, and his pink lips are still swollen. She teared up, now able to see his face much more clear.

“So beat this damn thing, and come find me again. My Sylvie.”

Her magic came out stronger.

A warm breeze moved some of his hair. The warm sun on his skin was welcoming. Loki’s normal armor discarded for more comfortable clothing. A field of flowers and grass in his view, trees swaying this the breeze that’s blowing through.

Gently an object is placed on his head, and a giggle fills his ears. Y/n moves over into his view. A flower crown on their head as well.

“You look marvelous, my love.” Their tone light. Soft. Warm. Just like the breeze.

“As do you, darling.” Loki responded with a smile resting on his lips. He held out his arms, Y/n moved closer to him, resting on his chest and looking out at the fields of flowers and grass.

“Thank you.”

“For what my dear?” Y/n asked. Turning their body to face Loki.

“For choosing me.”

“I will always choose you. You know why?” They asked, even though they had no intention to let him answer. “Because you are fearless. You are brave. You are loyal. You are strong. Because you are Loki. And my Loki is loved, my Loki is handsome and beautiful, my Loki is human. My Loki can do anything.”

Tears welled up in his eyes. The love radiating off of them is too much for him. They lifted their hand and wiped off the tears that fell without his knowledge. He leaned into their touch.

“I love you so much, Y/n.” Loki’s voice soft.

“And I love you.” They pulled him into a kiss, sweet and passionate. “Now, get that beast. And come find me.”

His magic came out stronger too.

As their enchantment combined Alioth froze in the air. It's dark clouds are now lightened with green.

Sylvie opened her eyes first, a strong exhale left her lips. She looked over at Loki, his eyes still closed. A tear rolling down softly.

“Open your eyes.” She requested. Slowly he opened his eyes, and saw what he did. Saw what they did.

Former Alioth’s clouds parted ways revealing a castle of some kind. It looked old and abandoned. Sylvie looked at Loki, Loki looked at her. The two shared a nob and walked forward. Hand in hand.

One long thought as they approached their next challenge.

‘I will find you.’

tbh i have agree with this, when i watched loki s1 it was a big shocker to me on how Loki and Sylvie got together so suddenly, with their only big interaction was on the train. And a HUGE MISSED OPPORTUNITY about how we could have seen Loki's mental state affected by Thanos, since that was a whole year of suffering for him. I also wish we could have seen him with his Frost Giant side, or a Frost Giant variant like the one in What If..? i enjoyed s2 far more than s1 and so glad someone is speaking out abt it

Loki Season one was not good- The repercussions of turning a character into an idea and product rather than a person.

I haven't posted in..a while..but since Tom Hiddleston was confirmed to be in Avengers Doomsday, I just got thinking about how Loki was going to be integrated back into the story considering the ending of season 2. Like, is the Loki we see in the LOKI series going to make a comeback, is the Loki from the original timeline going to suddenly appear and the audience is going to be told that he somehow escaped Thanos via classic Loki style, or is a new variant of Loki going to show up as a new character? But while I was thinking about this I got sidetracked and now I just want to rant about how the writers of LOKI did the character so dirty and how the character of Loki could be portrayed in further films and media.

Loki Season One Was Not Good- The Repercussions Of Turning A Character Into An Idea And Product Rather

To start this off, when I think about the character of “Loki” I think about a character who has always felt different and inferior in his life due both to the expectations and pressures of his people to be something he is not, as well as the obvious difference in race that causes him to be literally different than others. I think about how Loki’s goal his entire life was both to be seen as “worthy” as well as to be accepted as helpful to his family and his people. I think about how he grew up as an Aesir and was surrounded by a society who would often talk down about the Jotuns and boast war stories promoting discrimination against the entire race just to find out that he is the being that children and adults alike would be afraid of. The realization expectedly led to a descent into madness and desperation to “prove” himself as “different” from the “evil and savage frost giants” by destroying the entire race as many of Aesir wanted for eons. I think about how his feelings of rejection and hate for his own biology and place as an adopted child in the royal family as a son and a brother led him to eventually attempting suicide. I think about the innate desire to rule to prove himself as worthy of the role as a royal and a ruler as well as having the contrasting desires to be accepted by his family and to remove them from his life. Overall, during Loki’s arc in the original timeline and cannon pre-endgame, He starts by doing everything to prove himself as worthy among his family members and to play the role crafted for him by Odin before attempting to separate himself from them and play the role of “savage and evil” that many thought he would be due to his heritage before finally acting not out of the roles and wants of others but his own desire to help his people during Ragnarok despite the threat of Hela and the opportunities of Sakaar to craft a life that's truly his, Loki returns to aid in the fight to save the Asgardians and eventually sacrifice himself for a shot for Thor’s survival, not out of an obligation forced upon him, but through the love and care of a brother who he accepts. His story starts by being found and “saved” by Thanos and hurting others to fulfill a role and ends by being killed by Thanos and sacrificing himself for a person he genuinely cared about regardless of a role and obligation.

Loki Season One Was Not Good- The Repercussions Of Turning A Character Into An Idea And Product Rather
Loki Season One Was Not Good- The Repercussions Of Turning A Character Into An Idea And Product Rather

Keeping all of this in mind, I truly believe that the Writers of LOKI, specifically for season 1, really did not portray Loki in ways that actually showed complex characterization and prioritized his strengths as well as his weaknesses. Season one essentially gives Loki what I call the “Love and Thunder” treatment in which it oversimplifies Loki and overly humorizes him in ways that undermine previous serious characterizations. I also really think that they did not preserve the cannon timeline repercussions in ways that made sense because in the original timeline, Loki essentially learned his entire life was a lie, committed Suicide, fell seemingly endlessly, dealt with the horror of Thanos and the Other, fought a long battle with his brother and the avengers before losing and being taken into custody and essentially told that he is not strong enough to conquer and rule like Odin and yet despite all this, at the start of LOKI, He seems completely unaffected by these events and uncaring like he did not go through constant pain and misery over the last 1-2 years before finding out that nothing matters and he was forced to do everything and he truly has no freedom from the TVA. Despite all this he just accepts the whole situation?? Why is it when he gets the tesseract he just goes to some random dessert rather than maybe one of the many branches in Yggdrasil where he actually has the upper hand or connections that he has built over the past centuries and obviously knows more about but no- he goes to a deserted part of Midgard- the realm he knows virtually the least about and the realm he is currently being hunted for. And then, instead of actually running or making a plan, he just gets on a rock and makes a stupid speech to people who do not understand English. Also, side note, why wouldn't Loki know Mongolian? He's shown to know quite a few languages, and he has the All-Speak in the comics? But whatever. I'm going to skip to the scene after Loki has been taken into custody at the TVA and Mobius is showing him his life film. Overall, I think this scene was very interesting to watch because it basically confronts Loki with his choices in a way that shows the viewers the straightforward reactions Loki has to events in his life in a way that we don't really get to see in the movies. However, I feel like the series kind of just used this scene as a cop out to actual growth made through the movies for Loki. Like this scene could have been better later in the series but the series just kind of has moments like this so they don't actually have to show growth in Loki's character. One major criticism I have about season 1 is that when it actually comes to Loki's characterization the writers just kind of “say not show” it by having Loki just straight up say things about his character for the viewers to watch without actually showing this growth or these characteristics at play. Like when Loki talks to Mobius after viewing his death and when Loki calls himself a narcissist in the Sif loop, we don't actually get to watch any change in Loki's behavior, we just get to watch him talk about himself. It feels both unsatisfactory and like the writers just don't care.

Loki Season One Was Not Good- The Repercussions Of Turning A Character Into An Idea And Product Rather

Then there is one of the biggest screw ups that the LOKI series makes: The absolute nerfing of Loki’s fighting and magic. Loki is a god. Regardless of the situation, he has still lived for more than 1000 and spent most of them years studying magic and fighting in battles. Compared to the comics, Loki in the movies is still kind of underpowered compared to his comic counterpart, but even compared to the movies, Loki in the series, specifically in season 1, is absolutely weak and useless. In the Avengers movie Loki goes hand to hand with Captain America and Thor, and he was shown to be quite a competent opponent against the avengers but in the series? Noooo, Loki is pathetic and cannot hold his own in a 10 second battle with Sylvie despite having actual training compared to Sylvie just having to rely on limited resources and teachers in apocalypses. Also, OH MY GOD JUST USE YOUR SEIDR LOKI. like Sylvie was shown to have significantly less magic range compared to Loki yet even she uses her magic more the literal character that this show is named after. Like it is so freaking underutilized. In almost every scene there is something that Loki could do that could turn the tides in a battle but in almost every instance he chooses to do nothing which causes him to lose constantly. We as the viewer see that he still has the ability to do magic in scenes such as when he uses telekinesis to lift a falling building but like- where was this power in any of his previous battles? I understand that there is a budget but like the majority of the budget was being used on useless things. There are so many things in the series that I would be fine giving up to see Loki even have a fraction of the power that he has in the movies.

Then there is the blatant stupidity that Loki expresses through his choices throughout the series. Time and Time and Time again he just makes dumb decisions, and he never tries to do anything. When he is in the Sif loop, he doesn't try to leave, when he is out of the TVA, he doesn't try to attack any of the TVA keeping him hostage despite having his magic back, when he is on Lamentus he just gets drunk and ruins everything. Loki is smart! He is a strategist! Why is he just so stupid in the series! It makes absolutely no sense! Why does he just accept everything at face value? Loki is literally the god of artifice, trickery, mischief, etc. Why does he never try to do anything smart or cunning? Like he tricks Mobius in the first episode by snatching the Tempad but after that it's like he just gives up. It feels like the writers truly did not care about Loki and cared WAY more about the other characters in the series.

Then there is the dumpster fire that is the relationship of Sylvie and Loki. Objectively I love Loki in the Movies and I actually quite like the character of Sylvie in the series and I see her motives. She may not be the most likeable character and she's brash and annoying but at least her character is kinda constant. Like she holds a grudge, wants revenge, and doesn't care about its repercussions long term. It may be annoying but that's just her. However, the relationship between the two does a huge injustice to both characters. Like you're telling me that Loki and Sylvie meet, spend like two days together, argue constantly and are just total dicks to each other, then suddenly fall in love for some reason? Within two days? Also, there's the question of the ethics because they do have the same parents and Dna…(it's weird I know) I can't believe the MCU actually included self-cest in the canon. Like I'm not actually gonna comment on whether it's wrong or not (but it is kinda weird) but even if you yourself do not think it's “wrong”, The character in the show reiterates how wrong and weird it is over and over again. Like it's one thing if the writers just ignored the fact that they are LITERALLY the same person and it's another thing when Mobius calls it a weird and twisted infatuation to Loki’s face and everyone is just okay with it after. Also, Loki says a line later in season 1 that goes something like, "I have betrayed everyone I met but I've changed now,” when talking to Sylvie…BRO NUMBER 1, LOKI DOESN'T ACTUALLY BETRAY EVERYONE HE'S KNOWN, AND SAYING HE DOES REDUCES HIM TO ONE TRAIT AND NUMBER 2, IT'S BEEN TWO DAYS?!?! Then Sylvie tells Loki that he just wants the throne and his response is, “I just want you to be ok..” Loki. seriously. Your ONLY goal of doing anything you're doing is just for Sylvie? You met her a few days ago and instead of fighting for your free will, fighting to go back to Asgard and to your mother and Thor, or even fighting to have any life he wanted. But no, all you care about now is the variant of yourself who doesn't even care about you. It's just depressing to watch ngl. The kiss scene felt sad and undeserved. Their relationship reduces their characters to single traits (can't trust and can't be trusted) and almost satirizes them as people. Also, there is the constant inconsistency of their similarities and differences as variants. One second, they're “completely different” and in the next they are the same. Make up your mind Sylvie. Please.

Loki Season One Was Not Good- The Repercussions Of Turning A Character Into An Idea And Product Rather

In my opinion, Season 1 of the LOKI was just not good overall. The essence of the writing turned Loki into a flat, one dimensional, shell of what he once was. This was due primarily to the writers trying to turn Loki into something of a product that an actual person that the show needed to capture to succeed. We see time and time again that his character was not consistent- rather, a weird conglomeration of too many traits trying to take center position at all times. We get a Loki that goes from sad to silly to empathetic to psychotic within mere minutes. It just doesn't work. There were some fun points, and it had A LOT of wasted potential but despite this, Season 2 was a HUGE step up from the horrible place that season 1 left the story. Like it felt like season 1 has a completely self-indulgent story that felt almost like a badly written fanfiction with plot holes, selfcest, a lowkey self-insert love interest, and an awful plotline. It did Loki so dirty in his own show. Despite all this, season two picks up on the disaster of season 2 and brings back so many aspects of Loki that are actually true to his character. HIS CHARACTER. Not anybody else. Thank you season two for actually focusing on the character that we’re all here for. It makes him a bit more powerful. He's smarter. His motives are clearer and fit more for his character. His status as a god was actually real and not just some cruel joke that he had to delude himself into believing to cope, and his choices were overall better. It wasn't perfect. Far from it. But what is? In my opinion it was genuinely good, and you could tell that the writers for season 2 actually cared about the characters they were writing about. Loki is written better, Mobius is written better, and Sylvie is written better. All of the characters are written better, and the character relationships are written better. The characterization is taken seriously. And the story is more interesting and captivating. I was actually really interested in the plot, and I really liked the darker tone it took. Considering the place season 1 left us, season 2 did the impossible and literally redeemed the show and turned a lowkey obnoxious show into one that is deep, thought provoking, and raises Loki, a character who was reduced to nothing in season 1, into one of the most powerful characters in the Mcu. It had a great ending and even the humor was a large step up from the lackluster humor of season 1. I could talk for ages about the implications of season 2 and about what it means for the characterization of Loki and the others (I pretend season 1 didn't happen) but it is safe to say that the writers of season 2 seriously deserve a raise because they kind of saved Loki and a lot of the crap season 1 introduced for the Mcu.

Loki Season One Was Not Good- The Repercussions Of Turning A Character Into An Idea And Product Rather

Overall I'm super excited to see the route they take with Loki in doomsday and I'm super excited to see Loki interact with some of the other characters in the Mcu other than the characters in the LOKI series and I really want to see how the reunion between Thor and Loki goes considering it's probably Loki from the series that will be featured in the new avengers film but there is still a chance for the Loki that appears to be a variant of some kind. Regardless, if you have read to the end then I thank you for humoring my criticisms. I still love Loki as a character, and I probably always will and I truly only want him and his story to be taken seriously. (Please Loki fans don't come at me for shitting on season one it wasn't completely awful, just a lot of parts of it were…questionable...) Anyways. If you're interested in seeing me do an analysis on the character of Loki or anyone else in the Mcu tell me cause I would love to talk more about the positives rather than focus on the negatives of the Mcu and I'm also really looking forward to the Thunderbolts coming out and have a lot of good expectations for the film. Some characters I'm super interested in are Yelena, Nebula, Thor and like a ton more characters and I'm probably gonna get into it some other time but for now I think this a good part to end this little rant on. As always if you have any comments on the things I said, please share!

Thanks for reading, and if it's all the same to you…I think I'll have that drink now.

OKAY THIS IS REALLY OFF TOPIC BUT…

because the TVA goes back to reset everything when anyone messes up the the Sacred Timeline

this means there was potentially a timeline where the Ant Man Asshole Thanos theory could’ve happened but the TVA reset everything
