One of the most noticeable changes between manga and LA regarding Zeff is that manga Zeff heavily discourages Sanji's flirting methods, but in the LA we can infer he's the one Sanji got them from because of the way he seduced Garp.

I Like To Think They Knew Each Other Before Sabo Got His Memories Back And Their Relationship Was Like

i like to think they knew each other before sabo got his memories back and their relationship was like this until sengoku was like uhhh why do you have that very famous revolutionary framed in a photograph with you on your desk and garp was like O:< REVOLUTIONARY??? *flashbacks to when younger sabo tricked him into doing something very stupid with lies and deceit. remembers he is the worst of his grandsons*

Oh my god why

You Know… An Important Concept In Buddhism Is To Let Go… And If One Piece Is A Universe That Personality

You know… An important concept in Buddhism is to let go… And if One Piece is a universe that personality swap and memory erasing exist, is it possible that indeed Tsuru-san and Garp knew kid Roci but Sengoku took away their impression of him with his Buddha Fruit power when Roci was on the undercover mission in Doffy’s Crew?

And when Roci was dead, Sengoku was the only one to mourn and carry all the sorrow secretly.

Ok guys…I have an AU for One Piece inspired by Percy Jackson (hear me ou)

Ace, Sabo, and Luffy as Luke, Thalia, and Annabeth

WAIT!!

We will change things around here. Of course they’re still brothers. Luke in PJO has implied romantic interest in both Thalia and Annabeth, and well…Ace isn’t like that!

But yes, the same story goes for the ASL brothers and Luke, Thalia, and Annabeth. There’s gonna be a LOT of Ace mischaracterization here because it’s an AU and well…he’s Luke Castellan here. Constructive criticism or welcoming comments are welcome!

Color Code: Green is something to take note of, Pink is the tragic and the drama, Red is the warning, Blue is the Adventure.

(Warning: Plot Holes)

The ASL brothers are led by their “Guardian” (Whether Dadan or Garp. Like Grover) to a safe haven “Mt. Colubo” (Replacement of Camp Half-Blood)

They were persued by creatures sent by Saint Jalmack (replacement for Hades, who sent the monsters) since he had crossed paths with his ship once. (Similar to Hades’ anger with Zeus for killing his beloved Maria d'Angelo)

Sabo makes a last stand to allow Ace and Luffy to reach the Mt. Colubo’s border, sacrificing himself.(similar to Thalia, who sacrificed herself to let Grover, Luke, and Annabeth in the camp) The world took pity on Sabo and turned him into a tree to play as Mt. Colubo’s boarder. (Similar to Thalia, who got turned into a tree by her father that took pity on her and became CHB’s boarder)

This is where the “betrayal” takes in… (Luke’s Betrayal)

Years Later in Mt. Colubo, once Ace turns 17, he’s now manipulated by the World Government to work for them (similar to how Luke was manipulated to work for Kronos). He betrays Luffy and leaves Mt. Colubo. (Similar to how Luke betrayed Percy and Annabeth in Lightning Thief). Ace decides to weaken Mt. Colubo’s defenses by poisoning Sabo’s tree, which stirs trouble for Luffy and Dadan. (Angst for both Ace and Luffy…)

Luffy goes to retrieve an item similar the “Golden Fleece” with his trio (any trio that isn’t ASL, whether it be monster, supernova, or romance dawn). The adventures go like how the “Sea of Monsters” book go. They compete for the item since Ace is also trying to get it for the World Government. In the end, Luffy takes the item and heals Sabo’s tree, strengthening the boarder….but

…Sabo gets revived!

One piece Royal au

Credit to goofball because the idea of the crew freeloading off of luffy was something I unconsciously thought of based on their au and only realize that after I made the plot 😭

(I realized after typing everything Luffy’s reference image has a damn line that’s not supposed to be there, pretend its not there for my sanity)

👑Plot and information 🌸

Some of this was also based on epic the musical except there is no one fighting to get home, the nations tension is not because they want to marry a queen for riches, there is no queen Luffy is literally the only royal who stayed (unwilling)

Garp rather than run a kingdom like a king would, became the army’s general, man’s is almost never there because he’s too busy beating up people.

Dragons not there either, he decided to run off and fight Tyrants as a revolutionary (he needed to keep up his deadbeat streak/j).

Sabo and Ace have a little more to them, (doomed ASL fuels me)

Ace: Garp went to war with Ace’s father, and instead of killing baby Ace, throwing him off the tower and such, Garp decided to raise him as his own, since Ace was the son of an enemy king he was still bullied and he has the same complex because Ace loving his dad is not a thing that should happen.

When Ace got older he decided to leave the kingdom for the same reason he did in the original plot, to find a purpose to live,(he did hesitate leaving but Luffy encouraged him to go.)

Aces does eventually run into White-beard and others but I didn’t think that much far ahead, I’ll probably add more to Aces story in future.

Sabo: Sabo was actually an orphan child who ended up meeting Ace than Luffy, and then decided to just live with them

When Sabo got older like around 17 he learned about what Dragon was doing and traveled to find a revolutionary and to join their cause.

(He did get burned though because taking away his burn scar would be criminal, I’ll get back to that in future)

💫The kingdom and lore ☀️

Since Luffy (who is like 14-13 in this au) was the only real royal member who’s actually stayed in the damn nation, he’s usually the one that has to hear the people’s complaints, People have also tried to take advantage of the situation by trying to sway Luffy’s to make laws for them, or they want to kill him since wen he’s dead no one is left the fill the throne leaving it wide open for the taking.

This looming threat of being assisted or kidnapped never stoped the rubber bastard and he would run off all the time, he’s had to been dragged back screaming clawing and biting so much Knights have war flashbacks about that animal.

The guard’s dragging him back never stopped him from finding people who he thought was interesting and encouraging them to stay in the Castle with him so he wouldn’t be alone

I will definitely add more onto this 10000% I love the au so much, next post will be about the straw hats (and how luffy got his straw hat) with reference drawings of them and maybe a comic

Garp is the funniest character of One Piece because he's a marine and yet he had a revolutionary son and then three grandsons who are basically: A communist, an arsonist, and an anarchist. The four of them definitely say "fuck the Marines" on a daily basis but would probably show up to a family dinner as if nothing happened

There is something about Garp and Ace's relationship that is so tragically poetic.

(I need to write a fanfic about this)

The entire events of Marineford have such an incredible double meaning it makes me want to think about it for hours on end.

If you know any kind of work that ressembles this, PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME IM ON MY KNEES

Real Talk: Ace Didn't Need to Ask For Help, It's On Garp

Real Talk: Ace Didn't Need To Ask For Help, It's On Garp

i always hate when i see comments about how ace was an idiot or ace should have just asked garp for help because, no? like dawg wtf do you mean?

the one thing we have been told repeatedly across the manga and anime is that ace could have lived his entire life being perfect and he still would have ended up on that podium

he could have become a marine, a police officer, a teacher, a chef and all of that would have been reduced to nothing the moment his parentage was discovered

Real Talk: Ace Didn't Need To Ask For Help, It's On Garp

yes, ace became a pirate of his own volition, but sengoku never mentioned his piracy

he never mentioned all the criminal activity ace did as the captain of the spade pirates or even later as the second division leader of the whitebeard pirates

you know what sengoku did bring up though the moment he got on that damn podium? ace's parentage

Real Talk: Ace Didn't Need To Ask For Help, It's On Garp

he mentions nothing that gained ace his bounty to begin with when he gets that den den mushi in his hand. why?

because it doesn't matter that ace is a pirate. what matters is that they are eradicating the last gol d roger's bloodline

bear in mind that they were killing pregnant women and young children who could have even had the slightest possibility of being roger's lover or kin

akainu deadass says that he doesn't care if every other pirate at marineford escapes as long as ace and luffy died and he would ensure their deaths personally. and for what? not their piracy. none of their crimes. not even for ensuring that the truth that certain countries and lands that were actually saved by pirates instead of the marines never got out

but because their fathers were gol d roger and monkey d dragon respectively

Real Talk: Ace Didn't Need To Ask For Help, It's On Garp

solely because of that, he deemed neither of them deserved to live

and as far as garp goes - i love garp as much as the next person but garp has never done anything for ace to trust him enough to ask for help even if he felt he deserved to ask

garp's negligent parenting coupled with the abusive words ace grew up hearing led ace to believe he didn't even deserve to be born. when he even asks garp if his being born was a good thing, garp can't even tell him 'yes'. he just says 'time will tell'. my brother in the blue seas, that is an elementary schooler questioning his right to exist

ace is defeated by blackbeard in episode 325 (chapters 434-441), luffy hears about his execution being set in episode 416 (chapter 522) and then finally ace is killed in episode 483 (chapter 574). that is 158 episodes and 140 chapters total and in that time what ace receives from garp are conversations that boil down to

"you did this to yourself"

"i just wanted you to become a fine marine"

"i don't have sympathy for criminals but i do have sympathy for family"

and garp actively preventing those who wish to save ace from reaching him. yes after akainu strikes ace, garp does react viscerally with instinct to protect his grandson, but that's too little too damn late at that point

garp having his moral dilemmas mean nothing when, however long ace spent in impel down, he isn't trying to help him

garp having his 'wishing things had been different' thoughts mean nothing when garp is preventing people from saving his grandson

there's a reason garp lets dadan beat and berate him when they reunite in windmill village and it's because he knows she's right

Real Talk: Ace Didn't Need To Ask For Help, It's On Garp

over the course of 20 years, garp has consistently chosen work over ace and luffy. as much as i love dadan and co, bandits are not a good choice to have raise your grandkids and then be the surprised pikachu meme when neither of them wish to become marines

garp's inability to see past the system he disdains yet clings onto actively shoots him in the foot

prevents him from seeing that ace is right when he says he never could have become a marine

Real Talk: Ace Didn't Need To Ask For Help, It's On Garp

luffy could have never become a marine. i do hear arguments saying that luffy might have had a fair chance considering garp is biologically his grandfather but i say that's truly up in the air considering how, even with that knowledge, akainu still wants to put luffy on a poster

but that's all to say, asking why ace never asked garp for help is ridiculous

the fuck would ace look like asking the man who has done nothing but

unintentionally fostered ace's resentment towards luffy in their early childhood

told ace it was his own fault he landed where he did

falcon punched marco halfway across marineford

for help?

and that's not even mentioning the fact that up until that point, ace didn't believe he deserved to live. he didn't think he had the right to exist. the only thing that kept him going up until that point was hoping he'd find an answer that justified his being born and his love for luffy and sabo. ace tells luffy in his dying breaths if it weren't for the two of them, he would have gave up on living a long time ago

yes, garp loves ace and luffy

Real Talk: Ace Didn't Need To Ask For Help, It's On Garp

he loves them both dearly but he is also incapable of putting them before work, before his ideals of justice. these two truths can coexist at the same time. garp's stubborn to a fault and his moral dilemma resulted in both inaction and the prevention of ace's escape

so to say that marineford would have gone differently if ace had asked is seriously undermining the character work. because in reality, it's up in the air on whether or not that would have done anything. ace asking garp for help could have gone either way and that's the beauty of the gray area regarding garp's actions during the summit war

and yes, i can get why it's frustrating that ace turned around to fight akainu when he could have just left and got it back in a blood a different time

Real Talk: Ace Didn't Need To Ask For Help, It's On Garp

but aside from ace having a temper about specific topics, we do get an answer as to why he couldn't bring himself to runaway when we finally are able to dive into his past with luffy and sabo:

he doesn't want to run away from any situation because ace is deathly afraid of losing something if running away ends up being the bad call

Real Talk: Ace Didn't Need To Ask For Help, It's On Garp

and in that moment, luffy was behind him

even if akainu hadn't talked down whitebeard, ace would have inevitably turned back around because he wouldn't have been able to shake his fear of losing something or someone he cared about

as long as there is something precious for him to potentially lose, ace will never run

he was doomed from the start

his being the son of gol d roger doomed him from the start

and that's what makes ace so tragic

Real Talk: Ace Didn't Need To Ask For Help, It's On Garp

I love these so much! You have great ideas and I hope to see you keep posting for a long time (be sure to take breaks when you’re tired though)!

Supernatural au part two.

During marineford, when Coby lost his arm fighting Akainu Luffy just fucking loses it.

Coby doesn't bleed, and his arm will grow back, Luffy knows this. But the idea of Coby getting hurt for Luffy's cause sets him off.

He doesn't even notice the burns he gets from Akainu's flamethrower (I'm not using devil fruits in this au) if Garp hadn't stepped in to heal Luffy he would have died then and there.

Luffy doesn't even remember the fight, he just saw Cody's arm melt, and everything was blurry from there.

To naprawdę wiele dodaje Garpowi.

i finished marineford arc!!

this is the best arc in my opinion! i have loved the arcs before, but as heartbreaking as it is, i love to see characters push past obstacles and limits.

I Finished Marineford Arc!!
I Finished Marineford Arc!!

this arc made me cry several times. ace is one of the most beautiful characters ever written. he's incredibly tragic, but i love how he became such a fantastic person despite the odds against him. growing from his rage, becoming a kind person who loves so strongly, and someone that many people look up to - all of these things make ace so amazing. i know that ace will always be a favorite of mine.

what i felt this arc did so well with was how balanced everything was. the writing, when it came to ace, luffy giving his all to save ace, garp feeling stuck in the middle, and the humor with buggy were all done so well. there was never a dull moment while watching.

the childhood episodes were so beautiful yet bittersweet. watching luffy try so hard to be ace's friend made me so emotional. ace, sabo, and luffy becoming an unstoppable sibling trio was so adorable. i loved how they were the first people who showed ace that he WAS deserving of human connection. all three of them became better because of each other. after losing sabo, ace took his significant brother role seriously, and luffy decided he would become strong enough to never lose anyone again. it was such beautiful writing.

I Finished Marineford Arc!!

luffy losing ace broke my heart. ace dying defending his father figure and saving his brother is so in character for him. he's never backed down from a fight, always protecting the people around him no matter what. although i wish ace was able to escape, i know that he did what he believed was best for his family. it's incredibly tragic yet beautiful.

I Finished Marineford Arc!!

i was so sad that the straw hats never met up with luffy. i was hoping that they would be able to reunite at some point. although i wish they were reunited as a crew, i also loved that luffy was going through one of the hardest things without them. it makes the situation that more upsetting. luffy wasn't surrounded by the people he trusted most to try to save his big brother.

watching luffy mourn his brother destroyed me!!!!! i cried so hard watching ace die that i had a migraine; it broke my heart completely. luffy screaming and crashing into trees while trying to forget what happened at marineford was HORRIFYING. we've seen him be so happy in every arc, and now we see luffy at his lowest possible moment. but instead of letting his rage consume him, luffy is reminded of the people he still has in his life. he can't allow himself to give up because he has people he wants to see. luffy lost his brother, but he still has his crew. watching luffy realize how much he misses his friends made me cry so much. he truly loves and cares for them. if it weren't for the connection he has with his crew, luffy wouldn't be able to move forward.

I Finished Marineford Arc!!

overall, this arc was AMAZING. pretimeskip was incredible. so many fun arcs and incredible ones, like skypeia, water 7, enies lobby, and marineford. i'm excited to see the crew together again in post timeskip.

Hii! Can You Please Write Something For Garp? I Mean The Young Garp, He Has My Heart.

The Marine base was buzzing with noise. Recruits barked drills across the training grounds, seagulls squawked overhead, and somewhere deep in the mess hall, someone dropped a tray with a resounding crash. But none of it compared to the chaos he brought with him.

"You call that a punch?!" Young Garp — brash, grinning, unstoppable — hollered across the field as he blocked a poor recruit’s trembling fist with one hand.

You sighed heavily from where you leaned against the base’s stone wall, arms crossed, watching him with a mixture of amusement and second-hand exhaustion.

"Maybe you should let the poor kid live, Garp," you called lazily. "You’re going to knock him into retirement before he even gets a pension."

Garp turned at your voice, that wild, boyish smile lighting up his face. "Hey! If he can’t survive me, how’s he gonna survive the Grand Line?"

The recruit looked like he might pass out at any second. You rolled your eyes and pushed off the wall, strolling over with a casual swagger that made Garp’s grin twitch wider.

"Maybe start with something a little less life-threatening," you teased, reaching out to ruffle the poor recruit’s hair. "Like paperwork."

Garp shuddered visibly. "Paperwork’s more dangerous than pirates."

You snorted. "Only because you can’t read half the time."

"Oi!" Garp barked a laugh and pointed at you, puffing up like a kid ready to wrestle. "Say that again, Y/n, and I’ll make you spar me instead!"

The challenge gleamed in his eyes. You raised an eyebrow, smirking. "I’m not scared of you, Monkey D. Garp."

The recruits nearest you gasped like you’d just insulted the gods themselves. One even dropped his sword. Garp whistled low, striding forward until he was towering over you, arms crossed over his broad chest.

"You should be." His voice dropped into something almost playful, almost daring.

Your heart skipped before you could scold it. You stood your ground, tilting your head up stubbornly. "Last time we sparred, you ended up eating dirt, remember?"

Garp barked out a laugh that turned every head on the field. "Only 'cause you cheated!" he accused, grinning like a fool. "You kissed me on the cheek, you sly bastard!"

Heat crept into your face. "It was a distraction!"

"A damn good one," he said, tapping his chin thoughtfully, still grinning that reckless grin. "Might’ve fallen a little bit in love with you after that."

You choked. The recruits exploded in scandalized whispers.

Garp leaned closer until you could see the crinkle of mischief around his eyes. "What’s wrong, Y/n? You can punch a Sea King but you can’t take a little flirting?"

You resisted the very strong urge to punch him instead — or kiss him again, you weren’t sure which would be worse.

Later that afternoon, you found yourself trapped with Garp in the base's strategy room, surrounded by piles of boring reports. This time, you were the one who dragged him in.

"If you don't finish this," you warned, slapping a thick folder into his calloused hands, "the commander said he'll make you scrub the training grounds with a toothbrush."

Garp scowled like you'd sentenced him to death. "Y/n... you're cruel. Beautiful, but cruel."

You snorted and kicked your boots up onto the table. "Flattery won't save you."

"It might," he said hopefully. When you didn't respond, he sighed dramatically, sprawling out on the chair like a defeated dog.

You watched him struggle through the first report, tongue poking out of the corner of his mouth in concentration. There was something weirdly endearing about it — this rough, reckless man trying (and failing) to look serious.

Without thinking, you plucked a pen from his ear (how did it even stay there?) and clicked it against his forehead. He looked up, blinking.

"You’re hopeless," you said fondly.

"And you're stuck with me," he shot back with a grin. "Unless you plan to jump ship?"

You shrugged. "Maybe. I hear that some pirates are recruiting."

Garp gasped, scandalized. "You traitor! I'll have to arrest you myself."

He lunged dramatically across the table. You yelped, laughing, trying to dodge — but he caught your wrist in a gentle, warm grip. The room stilled for a beat, laughter fading into something quieter.

"You’re not really going anywhere, right?" Garp said, voice low and suddenly serious.

You stared at him — at the raw, open trust in those reckless eyes. A slow smile curled your lips.

"Not unless you come with me, Monkey."

He beamed so brightly you thought you might go blind.

A Few Weeks Later

Word got around the base like wildfire. Garp and Y/n were a nightmare duo. During drills, they were unbeatable. During downtime, they were unbearable.

Their teasing matches were the stuff of legend. So were the unspoken glances. The way they always ended up side-by-side without realizing. The way they laughed louder together than with anyone else.

One evening, after a brutal round of training, you collapsed next to him under the fading sun. Both of you were dusted with dirt and sweat, chests heaving from exhaustion.

"You’re not half bad," you teased breathlessly, elbowing him.

Garp grinned, flashing those wolfish teeth. "You too. For a weakling."

You nudged him harder. He shoved back playfully, sending you sprawling onto the grass with a yelp. You caught his wrist before he could retreat, dragging him down with you in a chaotic heap.

There was a moment — a heartbeat where the world faded — and it was just the two of you, tangled together, breathing each other’s air.

You could feel the rumble of Garp’s laugh against your shoulder. "Maybe we should just stay like this," he said lazily. "Nice and comfy."

You rolled your eyes, pretending your heart wasn’t hammering. "You're heavy."

"Muscle weighs more than fat, sweetheart."

You slapped his arm lightly. "Keep sweet-talking me like that, and I might just marry you," you joked without thinking.

Garp stilled for a second. Then — "Good," he said, voice low and warm. "You’re mine anyway."

Your cheeks burned hotter than a cannon blast. But you didn’t pull away. And neither did he.

What if.........Rokudo was the son of Koby and Luffy?

Rokudo was the only person to escape Nanba Prison. Not much is known about him other than him being the father to Jyugo and lover to Touko.

While I did want to make Jyugo the son of Koby and Luffy, Rokudo hair design did remind me of Luffy's. When I looked more into him it makes sense for this jail breaking criminal to be the son of the Pirate King and The Hero of the Marines.

Did I mention him being the grandson to the Leader of The Revolutionary Army? The nephew to the Chief of Staff and The Second Commander to the Whitebeard Pirates? And the Great-Grandson to Garp the Fist?

In this au, after the break in at Impel Down the World Government decided to take a new step and took an alliance with the Higher ups for Nanba Prison.

This happened soon after Monkey D. Luffy was declared Pirate King.

Strangely enough, after this declaration the new hero of the Marines, Captain Koby, was announced pregnant. In a private meeting between Garp the First and the Budda Sengoku.

Sengoku had no clues on who was the father to this child. At first his thought was Helmeppo, but he quickly disclosed that after it was revealed Helmeppo was away on a mission for almost 2 months.

Garp knew who it was.

But after what happened at MarineFord Garp did not want to risk it.

He did not want to risk his great grandchilds life.

Even if they were the child of the forbidden love between a pirate and a marine.

(Note: I am sorry if any of you don't understand this. I might update this, if I have time)
