Bhaal sisters doing Bhaal things~ (with my custom female Durge) + also big hugs to Larian studios winning the award~
Me casually studying parts of my Durge's body so I understand how to draw her scales while also making her look more like a dragonborn(I made these a while ago and Im proud of them so)
My little war criminal...... ✨
It's 3:30 am, I'm sick and I can't sleep so here's a WIP of my Durge Samhain. He's a ranger and Bhaal's reject of a son.
>rises from my grave<
Hey did you guys know I still draw sometimes? Anyway. Have my durge from BG3 (uncolored bc fuck that); the Great Old One Warlock named Chorus. They are a tiefling in game but I like to think of them as a unicorn. Them in game under the cut (I do use a few appearance mods):
I will always find it so funny that apparently according to Gortash, Bane approves of the alliance between him and Durge. Like Bhaal is losing his mind over it, whispering murderous thoughts to his chosen, being like “no, you will rule alone, we will betray him in the end, kill him!”
And Bane is just like, “Heheh :) they’re talking :) Gonna smush them together like dolls :)”
(I imagine Bane was just like “AYOOO????”)
Meanwhile Durge is just busy thinking about their girlfriend who just spit in Shar’s face.
y’all think in the route of saving shadowheart’s family, dark urge feels more inclined to persuade Shadowheart to save them because of their own guilt and trauma regarding how Bhaal forced them to kill their adoptive families?
okay but dark urge and Shadowheart romance and friendship is just so sweet to me and not talked about enough
like look at those two traumatized amnesiac murder babies!! look at them recovering and becoming better than what their gods made them!! look at them!! they’re holding hands!! and defying the gods!! look at them!! good for them!!
“My blood thirsty friend.”

Your average meeting of the Dead Three
I think I talked too much about just how grossly they kiss but did not make it clear enough. Right in front of Ketheric's salad, too.
Some unique Dark Urges voice lines (I have spent more than an hour clicking on him to say his silly little lines)
I absolutely love how voice actor gave the Durge more deep and hoarse voice, it can be heard in compassion to his usual voice lines. I also love the lines themselves. Some are more subtle, and some are straight-up edge lord quotes, but I still love each one of them, my personal favorite being the last one.
The way he scolds himself and tells himself to "pull yourself together" is just 🤌✨️
Okay, so I'm not finished my dark urge playthrough yet, but I need to know. What was the dark urge to enver gortash? Like my guy just casually drops that they were one of his nearest and dearest. I can't be the only one reading too far into this. Did you fuck the durge, Gortash?
The absolute chokehold this scene has on me.
Orin transforming into Dark urge to mock him, the voice actor absolutely nailed it, and i just love this dynamic and story so much, couldn't help myself, but make half-baked edit
(It would be more logical to post such edits on tiktok, but whatever)
My Dark urge Apollo who romance Astarion (he had a short fling with Lae'zel)
This man is pulling the same shit Astarion does, he tries with Lae'zel, but it doesn't feel right and she isn't easy to get what he wants out of.
Apollo desires love and passion, someone who doesn't see him as a monster or just a pleasure full night. (not that Lae'zel couldn't have been the one. Apollo value her more as a friend)
I have established Apollo's true desire, so this night for him isn't super different to how Astarion might feel.
They both sleep with each other to gain an ally. Someone they don't think could betray them. Yet I think they both might see that the other wasn't truely there (in different ways)
Apollo is sweet and charming but his dark urges and memory issues clouds his judgements.
This is a love story between to broken people learning to love themselves as they heal together and face their own torment.
My Dark Urge character inspired @meanbossart DU Drow character sheet and using his stats block base
And the separate pic of him
Tongues & Teeth
Song by The Crane Wives
When my best friend informed me what the Dark Urge in Baldur's Gate 3 is, my brain screamed, SUIKOTSU.
Mind you, my brain defaults to the Band of Seven more than I like to admit, because sue me, but I love almost all of them. (Mukotsu can die in a fire and I have no attachment to Kyoukotsu because we meet him for all of five minutes, but I honestly love the rest of them, all of them, as of late.)
When I first watched Inuyasha, I fell for the poor unfortunate soul but I understood he had to die. I was about 20 and never thought beyond this.
Cue the pandemic, and I binged Inuyasha for the first time after way back when. Of course I still loved Suikotsu, but I also sort of started liking Kikyou and how she grows. From someone who has learned (been told and adapted to that logic) that she cannot live among humans to someone who sees that ... she could? Because this guy, this dead guy, he has no idea he's a corpse, but he's here, helping, for no reward. Purest, softest, altruism, the way she offered before being ousted by an overzealous monk. And when later, he has a clear moment and begs for death, she wants to save him instead.
Of course, she can't. Not because Jakotsu is faster. Because in the Middle Ages there is no helping a man with severs dissociative PTSD. And of course, because the only thing keeping him and her alive is a jewel shard they won't be able to hold on to. But adult me thought, please just let them leave. Let them go away, far away out of Naraku's reach and just find peace somewhere together, giving all the love and warmth they have to offer to poor people with no-one else bothered to help them. It was never an option, but oh how I wanted that.
And along comes BG3 and when halfway through my first run I understood what the Dark Urge is and what Shadowheart is, I knew I can give them exactly that arc through those proxies. I have no idea what the Dark Urge is exactly, I only started a couple of days ago. The casualty I couldn't avoid so far was a squirrel, and I fear this will get a lot worse before it gets better. But I'll keep resisting and trying to make this work. I know the redemption is possible and I'll fight tooth and claw for it.
This is him, by the way. I picked a Drow over a human, but apart from that, I think the visuals check out.
Little things I personally love to see in Durgetash ships (this is really just what I enjoy, not what I think needs to be there for it to be valid or anything)
Fearsexual Gortash. He’s gotta be a little worried for his life and horny about it. But also…
Conquestsexual Gortash. The idea of owning the thing he is afraid of? Very sexy to him. Definitely not indicative of…
Absolutely out of control parental issues. Leaning in heavy on his experiments with people on how far they would go for their children.
Durge having full blown religious crises over holding somebody’s hand with tenderness.
Fully taking the “I consent! But I don’t!” Meme energy into Bhaal being a constant present threat to their relationship.
Both of them having a truly monstrous streak. Even if they might be soft for each other, it never stops them being a nightmare for everybody else around them.
Both of them having complimentary but different genius, whatever that looks like. The surgeon and the engineer. The politician and the empathetic killer. The mechanic and the butcher. Whatever it is, they revel in sharing space as equally smart people.
Gortash having actual injuries from Durge. Maybe he actually needs that cane…
Durge having a really tender spot somewhere for Gortash that manifests in strange ways. What strange means can vary but I delight in a huge Dragonborn bringing him breakfast pastries as much as I delight in a cute Halfling leaving him body parts of patriars like a cat with a dead bird.
I've seen a lot of durgetash naysaying out in the wild and I just wanna say this.
Larian wouldn't have paid for Gortash to be animated two different ways in a number of his scenes if they wanted it to be ~up to interpretation~ if he and Durge were close or not.
I think that players can articulate the nature of that closeness for themselves, but make no mistake: Enver Gortash treasures the Dark Urge, and not for no reason. You were confidants. You had a cipher, just for the two of you. You knew each other for 10+ years (if the House of Wonders heist happens around the same time Karlach is sold).
Headcanon your Durge's sexual orientation however you wish. Headcanon their gender however you wish.
But closeness — even intimate, private closeness — takes many shapes. Whatever your preference, platonic or romantic or some third thing, Gortash and the Dark Urge were as close as two people can be.
And it killed them both.
Character development sheet for my pre-tadpole Durge
I kinda wanted to do medieval vibes because of the combination of headpiece+horns ,but I also want an unnecessary big alien cape,so this what I have at this moment.
I do awave that now she looks like Chihuahua
Average Durge experience
Don’t worry, guys! Salami Bhaalivna rolled Nat20 on Persuasion!
Salami Bhaalivna is a simple creature
My smooth brained Durge - Salami Bhaalivna. She must’ve hit her head pretty hard because she’s has got trouble speaking and often repeats words “friendship”and“babygirl “.She’s got intelligence of astrophysicist, yet unable to open up a door even though it’s unlocked.
