-as Benedict stop talking someone scoff-
Mystery guy
Oh please what nonsense.
-Benedict turns around, surprised-
Mystery guy
-as he walk to join the conversation-
Please Lord Bridgerton do tell me. Do tell me do you see Lord and Landy Afwrich?
Mystery guy
Benedict looks perplexed
Mystery guy
If my memory is good it has been two years they haven't been seen. They were incredibly impolite always with eachother, really never talked with anyone... Now I wonder, pray tell me mister Bridgerton you know the Chatilley right ?
Benedict
I'm not sure I can place them ?
-smiles as he knows he's winning-
- Benedict seems to come to a realisation. The mystery guy smiles emphatically to M and Ms Mondrich-
I think the last time they've shown themselves you were just starting Eton mister.
(to the Mondrich)
But you should ask lady Cowper miss and mister Mondrich, she knows a great deal about them and their red nose. But oh well you won't see them.
Mystery guy
M and Ms Mondrich I think you know better than everyone how... fragile the great experiment is. How old people kinda stay... attached to their values.
-the Mondrich looks at eachother then at the mystery guy-
- Benedict looks highly offended-
I can imagine that people were hard with you and they will continue to be harder and harder.I beg of you to think about your children, especially Lord Kent... Do not listen to a man with such a name that his family get the privilege to erase every scandal that seems to happens every week in their household.
Benedict
Now excuse me bu-
- he gets cut off as a Lady arrives-
The mysterious Lady
-ensues everyone bowing to each other and the Lady being named Lady Roseton-
Ah M Beauchateau!
Beauchateau
- between his teeth-
Talking about family name that can avoid scandal...
The mysterious Lady
There you are I've been looking for you everywhere.
Lady Roseton
M and Ms Mondrich I've been looking for you two everywhere ! I heard you do not have a french tutor for your children ? I highly recommend this young gentleman.
Benedict (still offended)
And he's accompanying you to a ball ?
-The Mondrich looks at him as he looks and sounds quite mad, he smiles-
And what a suspicious french name for someone with such a good English accent.
Lady Roseton
Oh I feel so alone with my husband and all my children dead or away... And I know, It's probably a secret identity but he's a good french teacher so who cares.
-She chuckles and And M Beauchateau chuckles too-
M Beauchateau
C'mon Madame we must make hast it's getting late for you.
-They both leaves with Lady Roseton's hand on his arm, he looks back at Benedict and smirks-
Y'all ate this post
So more thought on that :D and why I think it'll work like a charm.
In the book (yes I read those that's why I'm allowed to shit on it) Pen slow down herself the gossip during her book.
Thing is
She defenitly ain't slowing down in the second part of the season. (But if anything I do hope she stop doing it and use her talent for something else than destroying reputation.) Wich could mean she abruptly stop and that would defenitly ruin the tempo of the season.
Here enters Eloise. As Cressida married Lord Debbling, and is learning to tend to the estate, she cannot come to the season. Eloise would then start sending her the gossip so Cressida knows what's happening (actually it's because she misses her and do not know how to communicate it). THING IS Eloise is terrible with gossip, she's not excactly good at reading people is she ?
Wich leaves us with an unreliable narrator (gaps dramaticly) as we slowly start to notice leaving us with a lot of frustration and tension. Excactly how Cressida feels about Eloise ! In the end of the first a,d the start second part of the series she makes it clear to Eloise who slowly slow downs the gossip, talking more about herself, so we see less and less of the narrator. Thus leaving us with a natural transition of the Bridgertons without Lady Whistledown
First of I want to say that it is in no way me bashing Julia Quinn. She has wrote a popular book series that she managed to put on the screen and for that she deserves alot of respect.
BUT
The books are a hot messes for many, many, many reasons, the three last one are ok but still quite questionable.
(I am obviously in no way claiming to be a better writter or that what I'll do will be good but I decided to rewrite and change what I didn't like and what I think could do better. )
Important information about this rewrite :
As I had hard time with honestly any of the love interest, ESPECIALLY, the boys one (with the exception of my boy Gregory, you were boring but cute) and that I felt like the women character had honestly a waste of potential I will change all of them a LOT. I will also rant about why I didn't like them in the first place.
As the books are so messy I also consider the series as canon and I have a lot of confusion about the way the society and great experiments was done ?! Like honestly WASTED potential.
This will NOT be historically accurate my dear friends purely fictional as I'll state multiple time.
reading an offer from a gentleman and every time sophie references her bag of belongings my brain jumps to
In An Offer from a Gentlemen, Benedict SAVES Sophie in the end. Knowing how this show girlbossifies everything, they're going to remove this crucial plotpoint from the story and have Sophie save herself and break herself out of jail with a monologue or some shit like that FML 𤌠đ Knowing how they girlbossified Penelope's LW reveal, stripping the moment where Colin saves Penelope and proudly declares his support and love for her in front of the ton just so Pen can have a girlboss moment. Just a disaster.
Please don't be cliche Shondaland - just LET BENEDICT SAVE SOPHIE IN THE END. It's okay for women protagonists in stories to be saved by a man!
Francesca was about 70% sure that pen was Whistledown. She really looked up to her as a kid because she noticed how observant and witty she actually was, and so she wanted to be like her when she grew up
For lady Danburyâs 90th birthday present Hyacinth attempted to write her own version of âMiss Butterworth and the mad Baronâ âŚit was terrible, but Lady Danbury retains that it is her all time favourite book
After Eloise the best shots are Michael, Kate and Simon as they all had experience on what they proudly call âREAL huntsâ when in India.
After that itâs Phillip then surprisingly Sophie (Eloise taught her) she says itâs because she has steady hands after so many years of work
When hyacinth was pregnant for the first time Gareth reached out to both Phillip and Simon to ask for advice on how to not be like you father
Kate favourite Bridgerton in-law is Lucy. She loves all of them, she really does, but there is just something about Lucy that she feels so fond of.
Hyacinth called Anthony dad when she was really young and he cried for two days. He still gets teary when he thinks about it now.
When Eloise and Penelope were about 5 months pregnant they both got really emotional about missing each other and so polin went to stay at Romney hall for a month.
Colin claims that it was the most stressful month of his life. NOTHING is scarier or more irritable than a pregnant Eloise. And as it turns out his wife does NOT take his side when he eats the last of the Jam Francesca sent from Scotland that Eloise had been craving.
When they were younger violet walked in on Daphne washing Eloiseâs hair with orange juice because Benedict told her it would make her hair the same colour as Penelopeâs and she wanted to make pen feel better about her hair
Phillip is flirted with constantly at balls but the man is so socially in-adept that he doesnât notice. Eloise however does notice.
Hyacinth casually mentioned the whole breaking and entering while trying to steal very expensive jewels from a baron during afternoon tea and Anthony grips he teacup so hard it shatters (he swears that is the closest he has ever come to a heart attack) violet was honestly unfazed
When Edmund was a toddler he tried to sit on Newton constantly. Newton was actually very chill about it as he adored the kid
Gregory had heard about how Michael made all of the woman swoon and was not looking forward to him meeting Lucy. Only for her to be totally unaffected and ânot get the big dealââŚ.She did however get quite flustered meeting Simon for the first time.
Unlike most people Anthony enjoys getting older it makes him happy to have been proved wrong and know that he wonât be leaving his family too soon
