Instinct lives to see another new page.

I know, I know, it’s been since April when the last page was out. I’ve been noticing Instinct has gained a bit of attention the last couple of days and I finally pushed myself to make a new page. And because I felt bad I left it at a pretty tense moment.

And there it is! This was my first time doing anything like this and honestly not only was it lots of fun, but the response was amazing! I was really surprised at how much people liked it. It’s a little late unfortunately, but that’s what I get for taking on something this big haha.

I wanted to take on this topic for week two because for a long time Stanley didn’t have anyone he could look to to protect him. The authority figures in his life treated him like garbage, and no one ever spoke on his behalf or intervened. Not even when his teacher bad mouthed him directly to his family’s face. The fact that a teacher could speak about him that way to his parents without any hesitation is horrifying. It’s no wonder Stanley has self esteem issues.

I went with the idea of using the tattoo because Ford would essentially be taking a scar that represents a particularly painful memory in their history, and turning it into a symbol of protection and family, mimicking their relationship in the show. You can’t erase the scars of your past, but you can change how you view them.

I’m thinking I might start doing more comics in the future, since I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would. Thank you very much for reading my comic!

was thinking about the first time the boys went out exploring while Stan was chibi and how Stan hated being carried around because it was "embarrassing" but he soon found how comfortable it actually was :p

got hit by an idea where some things will trigger a not so happy memory of Stan's past and he starts panicking but luckily Ford is there for him. Sometimes these moments will happen in public, which Stan HATES when it does, but any weird looks from strangers is quickly gone from Ford's glare.

(I just needed an excuse to draw more protective Ford)

was drawing something completely different and ended up drawing angst whoops

Finally finished the big drawing idea I had ;w; I wanted to draw a timeline-lineup of the boys and certain points in their life. Feel like I could have added a bit more but I think this works out for the most part.

Oh wow it's been *checks watch* since July of 2022 since the last page of Instinct. I think it's been long enough. We finally have finished what I consider the rescue arc. The next is the last arc and Instinct will official be done. Thank you guys for sticking with it, despite the many hiatuses it went through. :')
