Rekha loves the bit of reeaally digging into one particular character trait. Usha's an elderly woman? No, she's the oldest woman alive. She predates sliced bread. She remembers War of Worlds clearly. G13 could just be regular skinny and greasy, but no, actually, he wears 'long children's' size t-shirts, slips through gaps in stuck elevators, is unrelentingly described as 'terrible-looking' by Rekha herself, and actively repulses everyone he meets. And she's right too it's funny every time

Jack: I saw you were adopted, did you have a different name before then?

Hannibal: Ah yes. Chase. Chase Arnold Patrick Gripper.

Jack: Hm... Chase A. P. Gripper, huh? ....nah nothing suspicious here

I see that sunliwx does have a Tumblr blog (@sunnnliwx as linked above) but, at the time of posting, she hasn't added her Hannibal works to it. So here's another beautiful piece, showing (I assume) the rescue from Muskrat Farm.

Again, I love the inventiveness of it: the unusual angle; the angularity of both figures (I'm all for pretty fanart, of course, but I find something really compelling about the planes of light and shadow here)... There's something about sunliwx's work that makes me think of the 1930s - similarities to the style of classic, vintage illustration or the work of the British war artists. I'm still trying to put my finger on exactly what it reminds me of.

also i do believe love is at it's most radiant when two people experience eachother in these opposing manners and manage to be so conscientious and aware of the other that they are both independently able to recognize that these conflicts of perspective were really... Never conflicts at all. And that these differences of perspective could only ever enrich your relationship (unless, of course, one is apathetic to your special someone's inner world and their machinations). Anyways, it has all been said before. To be loved is to be known and whatnot.

love as attachment and as actions to maintain that attachment vs love as a driving force from deep within you. love that you carefully cultivate like a houseplant vs love that makes you do stupid, irrational things. love that's convenient vs love that happens against your will. love that makes you curl in on yourself to as to make room for another vs love that rips you apart, blasts every one of your particles to kingdom come until you both become something new. love that makes you genuinely ask do you really want to do this on your wedding night vs love that makes you pelt someone with water bottles because you're so so afraid of them leaving.
