Decided to show my skrunkly man. The figure head of my blog.
Been a while since I’ve done this so…what fears should I combine into an avatar? Top two will be chosen to be mixed. I’m going to take off the fears that have already been used. So far we’ve had:
- Vast/Spiral
- Vast/Buried
- Flesh/Dark
Felt this so fucking hard
I never have a proper reason for redesigning tbh. Sometimes I'll just wake up one day and the vibes are all wrong
The Eye (part 1/15) Be Ņ̴̢̰͍̜̬̠̬̭͙̲̿̆̅̈́͗̕̚ô̶̟̗̗̠̞̲͕͛́̆̆t̸̀̇̿̈́̃͒ͅ Afraid
The Eye (part 1/15) “Be N̷͖̟̈́́̓͒͘̚̕͜ǫ̴̢̦͍̠̪̥̪̰̰́̀̂̃͐̒̔͊̾̈́̽͆̿͂͠t̶̢̧̬̰͎̦̯͇͚̣̥̯̰̠̥̗̯͙̝́͌̽̎̓͗̐͒͋͛̏͒̈́̑̐̚̚͜͜͠͠ Afraid”
This is the first design of the long term project I have to design creatures for the 15 fears (yes, I’m including The Extinction). I wanted to start with the eye as it was my favorite. For this, I was inspired by biblically accurate angels and, of course, the classic line of “Be Not Afraid”. I imagine the Eye as something to dance the line between terrifying and absolutely ethereal. It behaves somewhat passively; doing little to actually go on a hunt. Looking into the eyes on its face or its crown will force you to relive awful memories, allowing it to feed.
If you would like to follow this project, follow the tag “When Fear Becomes Real” from the tags below. That is what I’m going to call this project!
Chaotic Minds (An AU I’m making) (small spoilers for Kayne/Intermezzo)
This is based around a couple “what if”s I thought about. “What if Kayne was in Arthur’s head instead of John?” “What if the story focused on ‘Darthur’ (dark Arthur)?” So, I combined the two to make the Chaotic Minds AU. In this AU, when the gate was opened, Nyarlathotep tries to come through and gets severed, trapping part of him in the book. The events play out mostly the same from there and Arthur opens the book, trapping the severed piece in his mind. From there, every situation that can be solved with a gun, will be solved with a gun. If not, the attempt will at least be made. The major turning point comes in the hospital during Arthur’s coma. Instead of the nurse making Kayne more human, a preacher comes to read bible stories. Listening to this triggers a hatred for the church in the piece within Arthur. This combined with Arthur’s previous religious trauma causes them to confront the preacher. The preacher calls Arthur a sinner and they decide to take on the mantle as they burn the church down. The piece within Arthur remembers the story of Cain and Able, the first murderer, so it takes on the name, twisting it into his own as Kayne.
The two of them, despite being the protagonists, are the villains of the story. Each feeding into a toxic relationship of codependency and completely unhinged nature. Arthur pulls away from his humanity and becomes more like Kayne.
John takes the place of Kayne in the original story, becoming a sort of exterminator and searches for any world where Kayne was the one to end up with Arthur. This John once had his own Arthur but lost him to Kayne, setting out to destroy any version of Kayne he can find that taints what Arthur was meant to be.

The Vast (3/15) “The Neverland”
The Vast (3/15) “Neverland”
The Neverland is a creature which never touches the ground, having stayed in the sky for its entire being, though this does not mean it doesn’t come close to the ground as that is how it gets its victims. The Neverland uses its strong legs and massive talons to snatch up victims when they walk alone. It does not eat them right away, instead tossing and dropping them through the air, devouring their fear before they devour the flesh. It was also known for dive-bombing small planes, ski lifts and gondolas, anything small that moves through the air. When no hunting, it flies among the clouds, the distance from the ground and general silhouette allowing it to disguise itself as a bird. It is likely you have seen the creature but were lucky enough to not walk alone.

Oh no, where did his arm go?
Interesting….
I know this is simply because Malevolent is all voiced by Harlan, but I've rewinded this part in Part 49 maybe 5 times. Right after John reads the letter. Arthur's laugh sounds just like Kayne's.
It's so specific because I thought it was an accident but this isn't what Arthur's laugh sounds like, he has a warmer laugh, he holds it in his nose and resonance, even when it's an uncontained manic laugh like the ones in the faerie ring, those are still usually more of a chest sound. Kayne's is in the back of his throat and less controlled.
It doesn't nessecarily mean anything, but it is really cool to hear a bit of Kayne in Arthur's voice when he's so utterly lost with grief for himself.
Just a silly piece of Kayne and Darthur
Lonely! Martin
Moth Jon and Lonely Martin, I love them so much
