Marwa Sobh has come into my inbox several times now asking me to help her son, Ahmed. As an autistic person myself, I cannot imagine having autism in the middle of a genocide.

According to Marwa, Ahmed has started developing memory loss, as well as severe hearing and seeing loss. He has also started laughing hysterically.

Marwa needs to get care for him quickly, and her goal is very attainable. As of today, November 22, 2024, she has raised €3,779 out of her goal of €5,000.

In this post, a different person who was verified by @nabulsi and @el-shab-hussein boosted Marwa's campaign, making Marwa verified by association.

you know all those fics where everyday Jon visits like an ally cat near the institute? I have a pretty sad headcannon that is basically that, but after the worms start showing up outside the institute Jon gets so caught up in his work that he forgets to go feed the cat, and when he finally remembers to, the cat's been eaten by worms. I do not know why my brain would conjour an idea such as this but it did, and know you also know about it, sorry.

My friend Mahrah (@mahrahpalestine) is an engineering student. She is brilliant and speaks with a clarity of analysis and thoughtfulness (even in a second language, even while living in crisis), that is profoundly impressive and humbling to me. She holds hope that Palestine will be free, and when it is, she will use her knowledge and skill to help rebuild.

Her father lost his job due to the war, and she does not have the money for university fees. The situation for her and other Palestinians is getting more difficult as the duration of the crossing closure increases, and the genocidal famine is leading to sickness and starvation.

Mahrah explained, "Food is missing from the markets. If the food is found, it is usually unhealthy because it contains preservatives and we eat it for a year and 8 months, and this causes diseases. But there are no other options to do without it. My nephews are at risk for my father's and mother's diseases and need healthy food because they are at an advanced age. It's like a famine, but there is no media to cover what's happening. They killed all the journalists."

Donations have been slowing, and she is afraid for her family's health. If you can spare some money to help them, please do.

Mahrah has been so incredibly kind and loving to me in our conversations, even checking in how I've been while recovering from surgery. She has extended so much compassion towards me, and I want to encourage others to extend that same level of compassion towards her.

This powerful image captures the face of a wounded Palestinian woman whose hijab is soaked in blood—likely her own or that of a loved one. Her eyes tell a story of unimaginable pain and strength in the face of loss. She stands in a chaotic hospital hallway, surrounded by others in distress. As an oppressed and weak woman from Gaza, I see myself in her. I, too, have suffered greatly—my baby, Qais, was injured in the war, and the hospital refused to treat him because we cannot pay. Please, I beg you to help us. Your donation can provide the medicine and care Qais urgently needs.

Life in Gaza is unbearable for women like me.

1. I wait in line for two hours just to bring food back to our tent – food that is never enough.

2. I clean the shoes of strangers on the street– just to earn a few coins for Qais's medicine.

3. We were turned away from the hospital– they said no money, no treatment, even for a child as young as Qais.

I carry this pain in silence, but I cannot bear it alone anymore. The woman in this picture used her hijab to try and save her son’s life. I am doing everything I can to save mine. But without help, I fear I will lose him too. Please, Donate anything you can—no matter how small. Even a few dollars could mean a meal, a medicine dose, or a chance for Qais to live.
