New years resolution (gotta write it down so I don't forget)
- Live simply (get ride of all my excess clothes, possessions, etc)
- Exercise more regularly (cliche I know but I need to do it)
- Eat healthier (Allison and I have been shopping mainly at farmers markets these days but my vegetable and fruit intake is not only low but also pretty unexciting)
- Finish projects (I have ADD and while I really enjoy getting excited about new projects and seeing what I can do, unfortunately I have a low completion rate with is always extremely frustrating)
I've definitely taken a step in the right direction but it's going to be a hard road to really getting better. Life will always be a struggle but the only options are to keep moving or give up.
New Zealand is one of those places that has mystified me for almost a decade now. It's entire population is just a little bigger than that of Chicago, yet it's almost the entire length of the east coast. I can only dream of the endless amounts of fun that could be had in that much raw country.

I'm starting to think that I need a separate blog for all my build projects.
Had a few things to do tonight before heading off on a much needed escape, they are as follows.
1. Go with Allison to get a new swimsuit.
2. Drop off keys with our friend John so he can check in on our cat.
3. Pack my bags.
Seems simple enough right? Well this simple list of things for some reason came with a very annoying and swift kick in the ass. This is what happened while going through my list.
1. Allison gets swimsuit. Our car gets booted because I left the parking lot and got a drink from a place across the street.
2. Park, hop out of car, hand John my keys. Cop tickets me for being in a "no standing zone for less than a minute (The real kicker is if I hadn't gotten out of the car and given my friend a hug then the cop said he would have let it go).
3. I pack my bags and go to get our cooler out of the basement. Get locked out of the apartment, Allison is already sound asleep in bed.
Every time I feel like my apartment is cluttered and over stuffed with possessions I just want to fit as much as I can, of what I want to keep, into a suitcase.
Sell the rest.
Hike into the wilderness.
Build a house (a treehouse would be cool).
And live there, away from it all, until I die.
I've always wanted to catch and cook my own food at some point in my life. I'm a bit of a wuss and would have trouble killing a rabbit or some other small animal but I don't think I'd have trouble with a fish.
Only problem with is that I suck at fishing.
In 11 days I'll be riding in a 100-mile bike race with my Dad and brother Drew (http://theravenandthesun.tumblr.com/). It'll take place in Lake Tahoe Nevada, we'll pretty mike be riding around the entire lake.
I'm super excited about it because I love to challenge myself when it comes to physical activities but also because this will be the farthest West I'll have ever been. When I was maybe 8 or 10 my family took a road trip to Denver but that was over 15 years ago! I'm so excited to see the rocky mountains again and be able to spend what little time we have, before and after the race, exploring the beautiful landscape.
I'm sure I'll be posting plenty of pictures :)

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been busy planning and going to weddings, moving into a new place, raising a puppy and coming up with a new outlet for my work. https://www.patreon.com/jlinneprops That's a link to my patreon page. It's a place where I give rewards for certain levels a person can reach for helping to support my art. Every month I do a raffle for my patrons and the winner gets their own prop replica! Right now I'm building an axe from lord of the rings for a guy in Arizona, so check it out and win some cool shit!
I live for the outdoors but pound the city pavement. My wife and I wish our cat and dog would get along.
