Garrus and Shepard on their honeymoon. Reports of her death have been greatly exaggerated.

Surprise! Tumblr just got turned into an epic fantasy RPG, just like [your favorite appropriate media franchise]. And the Tumblr RPG's plot needs to have all of its characters covered, in roles both large and small.
That means that you are assigned to a stereotypical RPG role inside our new fantasy world. Spin this wheel to find out what you are now doing for a living.
One of my favourite things is getting to see Chinese students trying to learn English at school finally being able to shake English speakers and yell "WHY IS YOUR LANGIAGE LIKE THIS????"
Actually, I do think it's an interesting topic talking about other biotics and how their development would be affected. Since people are comparing biotic abilities, why wouldn't other examples be used?
Is there some sort of forbiddence on people adding to the discussion that helps round out what makes someone more "powerful" than an Asari? Does only raw power matter or should versatility be included? We see Jack using her biotics to leap over enemies and yank the guards into the air with her momentum. We've seen Samara yank a skycar back to herself biotically. We've seen Kaidan admit he can't float down like Falere nor have the minutae of control to unlatch a hatch on the other side.
I'm never really certain what exactly people mean when they say Kaidan is as/more powerful than an Asari. Does that mean he can overpower someone like Morinth even though he says he'd be a goner to an Ardat Yakshi? Can he punch down a YMIR and keep running? Cutscenes of him make that hard to guess because his biotic abilities are rarely ever demonstrated if they're acknowledged.
Mass Effect really just left out the part about Kaidan being as strong and powerful as an Asari when it comes to his biotics. I had to find that out from google and I don’t remember it being mentioned in the game that a Kaidan is actually that powerful. Like I knew he was powerful and skilled but I didn’t know he was Asari level. I don’t know if I just missed that information or what
He’s literally the perfect man oh my god. I couldn’t ask for another. Why is he so perfect ? And like not meaning to shade Ashley but it makes me want to choose Kaidan over her more because he seems to be more of a valuable asset than her with his biotics.
Met a couple of elderly British ladies at one of my jobs long ago. One of them said, "Cheery bye" before leaving and I was so charmed by it, but sadly she already gone.
Look, can we please, NOT hate on Maximus to ship Ghoulcy? I like Ghoulcy, but I also like Max.
Got tired of the fandom shipping wars and the frequent harassment from some of the fans who hated Ghoulcy.
I don't need to hate on a character to like a ship. I don't want the ghoulcy fandom to be like the haters.
For me, personally, Bioware's Mass Effect romances has soured me a lot towards the bashful, hesitant tropes, because they were frequently Femshep's while Maleshep had clear and present interest from Tali, Liara, Jack and Ashley ahead of time. There was another tendency for every one of Femshep's male LI options to talk about their past lover. Kaidan had Rana, Garrus had that turian scout, Thane had Irikah, and Jacob had Miranda.
It's not that people shouldn't have had past relationships, it's that the frequency of them discussing their ex, in glowing terms, is not a turn on before trying to start a romance with that LI. I mean, if you're Maleshep, only Miranda and Jack's romances ever involve discussion of an ex. None of his other potential female LIs ever talk about another in sad, wistful tones. Curiously, his male options do.
Those two things combined with Vega's literally ending in a date rape have forever put me off of any LI who seems like they're dragging their feet about a relationship the entire way.
Ok, I’m probably very set on who I’m romancing my first playthrough of Veilguard, but then I was wondering what might make me change my mind. And then I was wondering what everyone else’s dealbreakers might be (and i wanted to ask before we learn much more about them!)
(Also to be clear, i’m just asking this out of curiosity, and not saying that any of these options are good or bad. this is just for funsies & i wont hold you to it 😂)
Also, another flaming hot take, but it kind of irritates me when people put Halsin confessing his feelings to you on the same level as Mizora literally trying to use you to mess with your companions, I see so many comics with people using that as a joke and like...no??? Mizora is literally a manipulative monster and an abuser who is trying to use you to mess with your friends and feed her ego. Her coming on to you has everything to do with wanting to hurt Wyll (because sleeping with his abuser is absolutely betraying him whether you are romancing him or not) and sow dissention in your group (because your love interest will generally be upset). Halsin is literally pouring his heart out to you because he trusts you and he accepts rejection gracefully, sorry you're not attracted to men, that's 100% okay but it doesn't mean your bad faith freak out is canonically accurate. Sorry if you're attracted to men but just not Halsin, that's also valid, but it doesn't make him a creep for expressing his feelings and gracefully accepting your rejection. Believe it or not, it is 100% okay to not be attracted to someone and just move on when they politely accept that an apologize. Stop being weird.
Tavs I've made so far:
Luth
It felt like tasting a forest for her, when she kissed Halsin. Greenery and wood in her minds eye, the cooled touch of a breeze, the warmth of the sun in his arms. Everywhere, surrounding her, she could not hide from it nor did she want to. He was there, fully present for her like the peace of early morning after a night of war. She does not need to prove herself anymore. He is here and he sees her struggle and he will not leave her to face it alone.
It feels like relief from a long fight, the blessed mindlessness of sleep and the sweet leisure of a spring day.
Just be.
Nothing further be needed than the connection between them.
Hemera
She was not given to flights of fancy, she thought. But the gentle delight of that twirl and Wyll's smile sent promises she thought long broken.
"It's ok," His movements told her, "It's ok to dream and believe again."
"Utter foolishness." She said to herself. It's a doomed fool's fancy before they'll hit the cobblestones, bloody and broken.
And yet
Yet he stands before her, defiant in the face of the fate that his patron would have forced onto him. He's free and proud, unbroken in his honor. Through it all, he's just as kind as he started when they first met.
Maybe it's ok to hope.
