how to not binge
first let’s understand why you’re binging…
you miss the food. you miss the flavor and you miss the freedom. that’s okay. restricting your diet is hard especially because you’ve had a taste for high cal foods and they taste great, i won’t lie. but i have been able to go about 2 months without binging, even though i miss the flavor.
my lw was at the beginning of the pandemic and i was eating like once every three days (because of my ocd). i got into recovery this year but i don’t think i was mentally ready for all the weight gain so i restarted my rexie journey about 2 months ago and i’ve lost a significant amount of weight (about 25 lbs)
now how to not binge!
actually enjoy your low cal meals. savor the flavor and really enjoy it. don’t eat them with the mindset of “this will make me skinny”, eat them with the mindset of “this is actually good food”. the more you start to look at these foods as delicious and tasty, the less you’ll want the high cal foods. look forward to the meals you cook. experiment with flavor and different textures. and remember it’s okay to miss that burger and that pizza, but there’s a whole world of different flavors you have yet to explore in low cal foods!
as i’m writing this, i’m having my breakfast: black coffee, a can of tuna with salt and pepper and some unsweetened applesauce. it might seem like bland food but i genuinely love the bitterness of the coffee and the sweetness from my saliva that follows after i’ve drank it, the savory and slightly spicy flavor of the tuna (i’ve always loved tuna since childhood so this one was pretty easy to like) and the applesauce, it’s like a treat and a fun little snack. i even consider it akin to candy, so i don’t feel the need to eat actually candy.
it’s a mindset to get into. just remember that you don’t have to suffer to be skinny, you can enjoy food while losing weight.
genuinely didn't think a plateau would happen to me. calories? in check. exercise? every day. plateau? couldn't be me.
and yet.
here we are.
so many of the reddit forums recommend eating at maintenance for a while and it makes me sick to even think about trying, so we're going to weigh and count everything obsessively again, not just the big/non-vegetable things, and lower the max daily calories to 800. i know that's actually a pretty high number for edblr, but 1000 had been working for me for so long…
wish me luck! almost excited to feel the pains again.
My master list of motif to ⭐️ve…
For a skinny girl autumn and winter/sweater weather and spooky season vibes

Honestly, getting drunk and high is so much more fun when you’re starving and skinny lol
To have an incredible sense of style and actually be able to wear cool outfits
To romanticize my life more
To give me a reason for existing and looking drop dead gorgeous while doing it
To beat my goal weight before I was forced into treatment; get into the mindset again
To chase the euphoria that starving and being skinny brings/the number on the scale droppjng brings
To shock everyone with how beautiful I get
Sharp cheekbones and jawline/thigh gap/slim arms/prominent and protruding collarbone/skinny fingers/thin and hour glass figure

My collection of meals under 300 cals (ongoing):
Egg Cups (about 45 cal per egg cup or 270 for 6): preheat oven to 360 F, use a nonstick muffin tin, fill muffin slots to top with spinach, add about 14 grams of chicken to each (84 grams or 3 oz for 6), bake for about 20 minutes or until cooked through. For flavor with very little cals, I dip them in sriracha. Ingredients below.
Liquid egg whites
Spinach (or any quick cooking veggie)
Pro2Go chicken/cooked chicken breast (optional, remove 17 cals per cup if leaving out)
Safe Tacos (about 70 cals per taco, 280 for 6): spread half of laughing cow wedge onto one half of the taco shell, add chicken and fold in half. Either toast on nonstick pan or microwave if you're feeling lazy. For dipping, I again use sriracha to keep calories lower. Ingredients below.
Mini Mission Carb Balance tortillas (25 cal each)
Laughing Cow Light (any flavor that's 25 cals works)
Pro2Go chicken/cooked chicken breast
Creamy Chicken & Vegetable Soup (about 225 cals for 1/2 recipe): Please note: I usually eyeball the vegetable amounts, so feel free to add less if you like. I tried to overmeasure for the sake of guestimating calories. To make, bring a cup and a half of water to boil (can add more later to taste). add chopped onion, zucchini, celery, carrots and bouillon. let come to a simmer. cook for about 5-10 minutes. add ground chicken breast and 1 tsp thyme. bring to simmer again and cook another 5-10 minutes. if worried about raw chicken, you can also pre-cook it in a non-stick pan beforehand. finally right before serving, add 100 ml of oatmilk. Ingredients below.
Oatly/Califa Oatmilk Barista Edition (very important to get barista edition! other versions may be lower calorie but it won't be as creamy and even "unsweetened" tends to be sweet)
Yellow onion, 1/2, chopped
Zucchini, 1 medium, chopped
Celery, 1 stalk, chopped
Carrot, 1/2 cup chopped
Better Than Bouillon Chicken Bouillon, 60 g (honestly you can add less and cut calories, but I like things salty and flavorful. add this or any chicken bouillon you prefer to taste. Adjust cals accordingly)
Ground chicken breast, 100g (optional, remove 55 cals per serving if leaving out)
Dried thyme, 1 tsp
More to be added as I think of them.
my biggest motivation is that I could be 20 lbs lighter but I just gave up for a whole month.
so your s/o can pick you up effortlessly
free piggy back rides from your friends
so you don't have to worry about being too heavy when you sit in someone's lap
so people will lend you their clothes (and they'll be too big on you)
when people buy you clothes, they'll get the smallest size (and worry that a size S might be too big)
someone from a k-beauty youtube video said "losing weight makes you 10x prettier"
to fit into petite and aesthetic clothes (eg brandy melville)
so you don't have the gross feeling of your skin touching (thighs rubbing together, stomach rolls, etc)
to look effortlessly beautiful doing anything
you'll sweat less
to look good in tight clothes
to be able to wear revealing outfits and still look cute
you'll look cute and small in oversized clothes, instead of looking bigger
so you can wear a bikini
to feel more confident
people will treat you better
if you stick to it and work hard to lose the weight, then you'll be better than everyone who has failed to do so. you're willpower and self-control will be admired and envied by your peers
people will pay more attention to you
people will worry and care about you more
for the skinny/pretty privilege
to make people jealous of you
to prove that you can
to look good wearing anything, even if it isn't a good outfit
so you won't be anxious about being weighed at the doctor's
to look prettier in pictures
so you can go clothes shopping without being insecure
no more dressing room breakdowns
so your s/o can fit their fingers around your wrists and their hands around your thighs (or so you can do it yourself)
for the thigh gap (duh)
to be small enough to use your s/o as a bed
so your s/o can easily lift you with one hand
so your sh scars (if you have any) look more "aesthetic" (idrk how to explain it, but scars always look prettier on thinner limbs
to be desirable
you'll have a higher chance of people stopping you on the street for photographs/modeling scouts/etc
to be more attractive
you'll use less products (body wash, lotion) if there's less of you (so you'll end up saving money too!)
people will take you more seriously
you'll be able to move through crowds easier
to boost your self-esteem, feel better about yourself, and be happier
you can purchase the smallest size when shopping online and you won't have to worry about it being too small
to be able to shop at cute online shops that only carry smaller sizes (brandy, yesstyle, other asian stores)
to look good while eating, instead of like a fat, greedy pig...
to finally be in control
so you don't feel jealous/sad when you see other people's bodies/thinspo, because THEY'LL be envying YOU
to have your pics/bodychecks put in a thinspo compilation
to finally feel pretty
to take up less space
to be able to wear low rise bottoms
so you can talk about your weight and not feel ashamed
if you actually stick to it and restrict, your appetite/stomach will be a lot smaller once you reach your ugw, so you'll naturally eat less!!
New month, new start. Definitely got away from my progress the last two months. Aaaaagh.
But buying the tickets to Japan has renewed my determination, so i might not be at like. My UUGW but I can sure as hell make it to the OG September goal!
