i think ocelot is in love with big boss while big boss sees ocelot as a brother (tho is not weirded out by ocelot’s attraction to him, as one would be with their actual brother lol) because i love messiness and unrequited love <3

yes, based on the fact that it says otacon is jewish, i see strangelove as matrilineally jewish. i think a lot of people use her existence to say oh, him being jewish was retconned out, but who’s to say she wasn’t jewish? jews have lived in the uk for hundreds of years, and she is from the city (manchester) with the second largest jewish population in the country (after london) and besides the fact that she is british and from manchester we know nothing about her family history so there’s literally nothing to say she isn’t jewish.

i do think huey’s side was jewish too, bc i think that was meant to be the implication originally…even if huey is shit representation lol…

obviously none of these characters are religious, they’re all scientists with a bit of a reddit athiest vibe to them, but judaism is an ethnoreligion so you can be jewish without being observant. you can even celebrate holidays and stuff without really believing. i think otacon was raised secular, but jewish enough that he had a very cringe bar mitzvah with a nerdy theme (exact theme tbd, it would have been in 1993 so idk what nerd shit was big then, taking suggestions) because i think that would be funny.

honestly i feel like a way more ambiguous relationship is between raiden and snake (and to a lesser extent otacon since lbr he and snake are unambiguously romantic so theyre kind of a package deal at this point, not to mention raiden asking sunny if hal was married yet and talking about how much more attractive he got in his 30s lol), i feel like im always flipping back and forth between whether their relationship seems more familial, friendly, or if there might be something romantic there. theres an argument to be made that snake is like an uncle to him since solidus does call himself raiden's dad, and i do see where people are coming from with that, but on the other hand idk if raiden necessarily considers solidus his father, and given the fact that snake isnt blood related to snake and didnt meet him until he was already well unto adulthood (and that snake didnt even know about solidus' relationship with him until he was well into adulthood), i can also completely see raiden and snake not necessarily considering each other family (theyre still close either way, just a different kind of close)

yeah i get u! i personally always saw snake and raiden as like. coworkers. but ur right that he does kind of seem like a relative or close family friend to the lil snake-otacon-sunny family. i don’t think i see snake having any romantic feelings towards raiden because he’s pretty solidly in monogamy mode by 2009, and i’m not sure i see the other way around either because i am one of three straight raiden truthers on here, but the adam warren comics do make me somewhat fond of him having a hero-worship crush on snake haha.
