Hey. I'm a singlet and I honestly don't follow syscourse a lot because I am not directly affected by it and my NPD makes me stay away from things that don't affect me but I saw that there were many singlets that had a stance and most of them are anti endo and I am like... Wtf? Sib, you ain't no damn system. It's like if a non lgbtq+ person had an opinion on queer discourse NO. The only thing you should be doing and saying is: I don't know but I think that anyone should be cared for and have rights and shits. That ain't that goddamn hard.
Sorry if I sound a bit aggressive, my tone is meant to be rather neutral. (Quick note because I think it matters, use it or he when talking about me in third person.).
Some people just are looking for groups to hate. It's as simple as that.
I think that there is a more generalized pluralophobia behind it!
That there are some singlets who are only capable of "caring" about systems if they can feel superior. They will accept systems as long as those systems accept that they are inferior to the singlet majority.
Those are the vibes that I get from a lot of singlet sysmeds.
It's a very conditional sort of acceptance casting systems as broken things that need to be fixed.
The moment they encounter a system who says "we didn't have trauma and our lives are perfectly fine and happy because we are together," That's now something that is a threat to established norms. It's a threat to singlet-normatism.
Being a system practicing projection and/or imposition is so funny because why is there a reshiram standing over me in the kitchen? Why is Tomura Shigaraki standing ominously in the doorway? Why is there a dragon on my bed?
When you're half asleep so you feel like you're bobbing between the real world and the headspace but you can't quite fall asleep until one of your alters snuggles with you in the headapace and you finally relax enough to actually fall asleep ❤️
Hey, wanna know the ultimate trick to help you explain alterhumanity?
Saying that you "identify" as something can be really, REALLY hard to grasp for a ton of people, so just use a different phrasing with the same meaning!
For example, if you're in a situation were you have to explain your identity to someone who's a bit less open minded, instead of saying
"I identify as a fox"
just say
"I see myself as a fox" or "I feel more like a fox instead of a human"
That has the exact same meaning, but is much easier to understand!
"Yeah, I just kinda see myself as a fox. When I see images of them I kinda go 'hey! That's me!', and doing things a fox would do makes me happy"
Boom. Your chances of being understood just went up by like 80
comfort characters should be normalized. not the whole "oh i love this character, i watch the show just to see them because they bring me comfort!" thing, cuz i think thats already normalized
comfort characters that you can imagine soothing you to sleep should be normalized. imo i lovee imagining my comfort character next to me as i walk to school, or as i fall asleep. i imagine them telling me that everything will be alright.
i think carrying your cc around in your headspace should be normalized. i like it when a character i like comments on things i do in real life. i like talking to them in my head.
PRETENDING YOUR BLORBO IS REAL AND INTERACTING WITH THEM SHOULD BE SOMETHING MORE PEOPLE DO!!! trust me, it is SO FUN!!!!!!
aromantic soulbonding culture is noticing that the soulbonding community is very interconnected with the selfship community and feeling weird about it
no shade to folk who are romantic with their soulbonds, the romance focus just makes us feel a bit alienated from the community
soulbonding culture is
People with psychotic disorders are neurodivergent too.
People with personality disorders are neurodivergent too.
People with substance abuse disorders are neurodivergent too.
People with tic disorders are neurodivergent too.
People with bipolar disorder are neurodivergent too.
People with dissociative disorders are neurodivergent too.
Neurodivergence isn’t just ADHD, autism, anxiety, and depression. (Plus those last two also get left out sometimes!) Neurodivergence is anything that affects your brain.
“Neurodivergent people hate loud noises” is actually just as valid as a statement as “neurodivergent people have delusions,” “neurodivergent people have tics,” or even “neurodivergent people have low empathy.”
my hot take is that it doesn't matter why you're otherkin or how you came to be otherkin- if you identify as or are another creature you can call yourself otherkin
yes this includes otherkin by choice
as long as someone choosing to be otherkin actually, earnestly identifies as otherkin I literally do not care. I care when our labels get watered down to "identify with another creature" or "relate to another creature" because that erases the meaning of these words. these terms were founded to describe people who are other creatures.
I am a crow. I am a gray fox. I am fae.
I didn't choose these things. I don't have a problem with people who do.
I think the term otherlink can be valuable but I think it can exist alongside being otherkin by choice. gatekeeping reason behind the term "otherkin" doesn't help us. if someone isn't watering down terminology, if they actually identify as another animal, then they are taking nothing from us.
Its like, people can ask me "why do you like this flat, two-dimensional, obnoxious fictional character and read into them a complex and nuanced inner life, and not this other flat, two dimensional, obnoxious fictional character?"
But all I can respond is that one of them I know personally and understand as a fellow being with a rich inner life and many positive qualities, and the other is just a flat, two dimensional, obnoxious fictional character to me. 🤷
Wanted to make a positivity post regarding some things that we see fake-claimed based on our experiences.
So shout out to systems who:
Are mostly fictives!
Can sometimes/frequently willingly switch!
Have low amnesia barriers!
Have little to no difference in how alters type/speak!
Aren't entirely sure about being a system!
Are certain in being a system!
Speak aloud more often then internally!
Have/had maladaptive daydreaming!
Split due to hyperfixations!
Have had alters fuse due to trauma!
Openly switch in public!
Split tons of headmates at once!
Have had some sort of communication since childhood!
Don't want to fuse!
Don't have access to their headspace memory!
Have triggers that pull alters OUT of front!
Believe your own experiences! If you feel like you might be plural, you probably are.
