As tiring as all this shit is, I can't in good faith continue to use spotify.
For anyone else jumping ship, I used exportify.app to save my favorite playlists.
---
Edit: I'm used to maybe getting a like or two with the occasional single reblog (of mostly shitposts) so when I saw "99+" notifications I thought my app had glitched. So you can imagine my overwhelm when I was hoping to actually reach someone for once but never ever expected this, much less 10k or even 1k (or 100 if I'm being honest!). I do see people's questions and wanted to be able to provide answers but other users have already been very helpful! (thank you all so much!) So I recommend going through the notes for tips and suggestions.
So far I've downloaded Deezer and used a combination of tunemymusic and soundiz to transfer my playlists. Some seemed to only transfer the name of the playlist but no songs so I'd try the other site then it would work fine. I forget which but one has transferring more than 500 tracks at a time behind a paywall so I just did one playlist at a time and it worked. It also lets you check/uncheck individual tracks. I also like that it would show you what didn't transfer (for not being on Deezer) so I can find them elsewhere. I think the most that failed at once was maybe like 10ish tracks from my anime playlist which makes sense. It was a few specific artists.
I usually try to keep my blog peaceful (but not necessarily neutral) because we all need an escape from doomscrolling and people don't realize how quickly they can drown out your entire timeline/feed/dash/etc with said doom, despairing, and even flagrant misinformation. It doesn't mean I'm ignoring what's going on or not doing the work irl. I personally have days when I just don't have the mental capacity to process all the terrible things happening and need to see just fanart or laugh at shitposts so my goal is to provide that space for anyone needing that same breather. Hell, I just lost my job less than two weeks ago in an unexpected layoff and rent's due in a couple days so that's where my focus has been instead of the news. So I'm super grateful that one of my rare "please look at this" moments was actually, well, seen.
To be fair, I have met (and herded out of a mildly exploding building) kids like that. Highschoolers, man. Just enough smarts to be so, so stupid.
Because some kids can't even hold onto the instruction of "there is a killer robot loose in the school, evacuate" Amazing Spiderman 8
Juuuust when I thought I'd found all the ways the works of take-my-heart-gently-in-his-hands-Tolkien could bring me to tears youse gotta hit me with a take like this. How dare. Well played.
Once again thinking about the “Tolkien elves are physically superior to humans in every way” thing as a disability parallel

I miss when I would get Tumblr asks that actually said things and weren't just digital panhandling scams.
A fantastic point! Never made the connection to the real world 'everyman' duelist, but it makes so much sense.
Although I did always think it was hilarious that in a universe where chance outcomes can be demonstrably affected by circumstances (morality, determination, rule of cool...), a guy with neither destiny nor money on his side pulled ahead of the competition by *building a deck around gambling.*
big fan of how much of a bitch he is
Damn I needed this RN
I did this to my players, actually. Got a custom printed and painted 3D model and everything. The fight with the mighty Honkdra saw not just a single ship, but an entire dock district go down in flames. Peace was never even a consideration.
Goose hydra. Peace will never be an option
Do you have a favorite episode of Colombo? Your Detectives and Tricksters Trope Talks inspired me to get hooked
Season 5 Episode 1, "Forgotten Lady"! I shan't spoil why, but it's top tier.
Also shoutout "Try and Catch Me", "Suitable for Framing", and the one with Evil Johnny Cash.
#is that why doma wanted to buy out industrial illusions and kaiba corp?
^ headcanon accepted, evil magic conspiracy took over a multinational company to make custom branded merch. Makes more sense than most of the explanations this season XD
so does Doma give the evil duel disks to new members of Doma like a complimentary gift or do they need to pay for it?
in some ways, it can improve the experience. Like, 'this is an amateur author, but I know what they're going for' so it's a great read, you know?
I think one of the weirdest side effects of being a writer is that while I'm reading, I'll just start subconsciously editing the book. Like, if a sentence sounds odd or off to me, I'll fix it in my head and continue reading as if that were how it was written.
Does anybody else do this?
