When you realize that you’ve fully gone from listening to Panic! at the Disco to experiencing it.
It was Psycho for me
rb this and tag what was the horror movie you saw too young and scarred you for years (mine was the first paranormal activity)
6 months ago I fell in love My future felt so sure It was something wonderful. Something I've never felt before I felt it in my heart; I knew it in my mind
Slowly but surely it seemed to fade, And now we're out of time. So happy Valentines day darling... A day we'll never get to share. Sometimes I'm glad you're gone. Sometimes I fear no one will ever compare
I'll miss your perfect face and the way you held me close at night. But I won't miss feeling out of place, like something wasn't right.
I'll miss the dreams we used to have of a future we could share. But I won't miss being told you're my savior because that wasn't fucking fair.
When we were both our best selves, we were a perfect match.
I slowly lost myself by clinging to you. You confused me, but to you, I latched.
So happy Valentines day darling! to all we could've been. to all we never were. and all we never will be again.
Totally agree. Not to mention the fact that Katniss wasn't trying to be the face of a rebellion, it just kind of happened to her. The biggest difference I noticed between THG and SOTR is that Haymitch was trying to end the games and actively rebel while Katniss would love that to happen but is primarily focused on the survival of herself and her family.
Katniss accidentally became the face of a revolution through a mixture of her natural reactions to her situation being publicized and the orchestration of those that have been behind the rebellion for decades.
It is not a teenage girl saves the world story it is a teenage girl becomes propaganda story.
Suzanne Collin’s just said fuck you to everyone who’s ever critiqued the Hunger Games as being a “teen girl saves the day” story. She said oh, Mockingjay didn’t make it clear enough? Here’s a book about how people have been rebelling for decades only to have their efforts suppressed and propagandized. Rebellion takes time and it takes failure and Katniss may have been the spark that ignited the wildfire but she did so standing atop the doused flames of everyone who came before her.
Twilight but it's a family sitcom!!! Edward gets made fun of for how emo he is. All the Cullen siblings play pranks on eachother. Resume (or whatever the fuck her name is) spends too much money shopping with Aunt Alice and crashes Edward's Volvo. Carlisle and Charlie are just rolling with the punches and dealing with everyone's shit. All the classic sitcom things happen, but it's still twilght.
Smart Kids (a poem)
Special, gifted, going places... That's what they tell you.
And when there are test scores and reading levels to see how you compare, you start to believe it.
Your friends treat you like a genius and you pretend not to care. But as the class size grows the spotlight is to share.
And as the arbitrary markers begin to disappear, you start to wonder... it fills you with fear. How your genius is no longer recognized by your peers.
You are simply another person. With strengths and weaknesses like anyone else. You are not special or smart, If anything you're idiotic and overemotional.
When the common markers of success begin to flea your talent diminishes. your accomplishments seems mall as a pea.
You realize you were one of many "smart kids" in the class. You realize that your superiority was never meant to last.
Not trying to spread hate or anything but the one thing I hate about tumblr is that it's full of cats. Cat pics, cat people, just generally too many cats.
“Gosh, you really are a Maximoff. Otherwise, none of this would be nearly as dramatic.”
