hey loves! to keep it short i don't like new years resolution's at all. this time each year all these adults talk about how this is the year they're going to lose weight or be more active, and it rarely ever works. most people fail their new year's resolutions because the concept in itself is flawed. but anyways, i know that a lot of people find them fun, so i'll give some tips on how to actually improve this year :)
theyre hard to measure. when people make their resolutions to 'eat healthier' or 'exercise more' it's not something you can really measure because it's not specific.
goals vs. habits:
create goals that're attainable and measureable. i like to avoid goals that're like "i want to workout everyday for 30 minutes", because that's more of a habit (working out daily) and also it's pretty hard to accomplish since there might be days when you're sick, or too busy, etc.
example:
instead of "i want to sew more in 2024" -> "i want to sew 10 projects in 2024"
instead of "i want to read more in 2024" -> "i want to read 10 books in 2024"
create a step by step plan. when you set a goal you need to think about HOW you're going to accomplish it. this is where daily habits come in.
alter your daily routine to incorporate new healthy habits. anytime i want to get a new habit i just do it little by little everyday. like read for 10 minutes or meditate for 5.
first of all: don't wait for new year's! i know it just feels good to think that the new year is when you're going to start doing all these things, but really you should be starting before then. don't wait
remember: progress ISNT linear!! you might have a month (or multiple) where you're really in a slump and not doing what you want to be doing, but that doesn't mean that you failed in any way. you don't need to wait for a new year to have a clean slate, just brush yourself off after these mistakes and keep going. progress isn't something that is constant- you have good times and bad times, you just need to keep doing your thing.
sending u all positive energy and all of my love :) -amy <3

honestly best thing I've ever done for my mental health (exaggeration) was start jokingly accepting praise rather than explaining why it isn't impressive and all the things I need to improve on.
examples:
"I just got skills."
"you've forgotten that I am a wizard."
"yes yes I know many things"
"well you see, I'm awesome like that"
self esteem +5 quips +1
Somewhere in an alternate alternate universe...
A part of being an adult is living with regret and not allowing it to consume you. The older you get, the more mistakes you’ve made, opportunities you’ve missed, people you’ve disappointed. And every day you have to remind yourself to be kind and forgiving of yourself. You accept and love the you from the past and understand that it’s all a part of the process. Then you move on and live your best life, knowing now as old as you feel today, you’ll never be this young again.

Artemis is the first step in the next era of human exploration. This time when we go to the Moon, we're staying, to study and learn more than ever before. We’ll test new technologies and prepare for our next giant leap – sending astronauts to Mars.
Artemis missions will achieve many historic feats, like landing the first woman and first person of color on the Moon.
With today’s release of our graphic novel First Woman: NASA’s Promise for Humanity you don’t have to wait to join us on an inspiring adventure in space.
Meet Commander Callie Rodriguez, the first woman to explore the Moon – at least in the comic book universe.
In Issue No. 1: Dream to Reality, Callie, her robot sidekick RT, and a team of other astronauts are living and working on the Moon in the not-too-distant future. Like any good, inquisitive robot, RT asks Callie how he came to be – not just on the Moon after a harrowing experience stowed in the Orion capsule – but about their origin story, if you will.
From her childhood aspirations of space travel to being selected as an astronaut candidate, Callie takes us on her trailblazing journey to the Moon.
As they venture out to check on a problem at a lunar crater, Callie shares with RT and the crew that she was captivated by space as a kid, and how time in her father’s autobody shop piqued her interest in building things and going places.
Callie learned at a young age that knowledge is gained through both success and failure in the classroom and on the field.
Through disappointment, setbacks, and personal tragedy, Callie pursues her passions and eventually achieves her lifelong dream of becoming an astronaut – a road inspired by the real lives of many NASA astronauts living and working in space today.
Be a part of the adventure: read (or listen to) the full First Woman story and immerse yourself in a digital experience through our first-ever extended reality-enabled graphic novel.

the point of this post is to help u maybe limit ur phone usage and to give ur time purpose and feel more fulfilled.
learn something new online : start following up with an online course, theres this website (coursera.org) where u can engage in some courses and learn something new. CONTINUOUS LEARNING is probably something that i'd advocate for the most. there r so many things that u can learn online literally dont limit urself, i learned a whole LANGUAGE online. u can learn thru youtube, websites, reading online books, academic journals and articles, my girlblog :) etc
make a video to ur future self : like literally sit in front of ur camera and just chat as if ur chatting to ur future self (this can also double as a manifestation exercise) just TALK to ur future self, its sm fun when u look back and have a conversation with ur past self and to see all the things that u manifested materialized. its a lot of fun fr. this is especially good if ur the kind of person who struggles to see the progression that you've made. looking back on this SHOWS u ur progression.
turn ur phone into a productivity MACHINE : delete apps that make u feel distracted, get rid of old numbers on ur phone, unfollow ppl that give off negative energy/make u distracted. use notion (i love notion with my life) make schedules and to-do lists.
get a hobby : learn something new, start a hobby or continue one that you've had in the past. its genuinely so fulfilling to have something to do. (lately i've been into photography) if u can't find a hobby right at this moment then dedicate ur time and energy into something that'll serve u in the future. for me, i've been putting a lot of my time towards community service bcuz thats something that'll serve me in the future.
MAKE YOUR GOALS/HABITS AN IDENTITY. Your lifestyle makes up who you are, quite literally. If you want to wake up early, then start identifying yourself as an early bird. If you want to get good grades, then start identifying yourself as a studious student. And so on.
This helps with feeling more accountable and committed to our goals and habits. However, don’t use this as a reason to overexert yourself.
THERE IS SOMETHING UNDERNEATH CERTAIN BEHAVIOURS. All of your bad habits stem from your subconscious. This is why mentally healthy people tend to think more about their physical health.
The best way to recognise patterns beneath your bad habits is just to talk to yourself. In any way or any form. Identify it, see what might’ve caused this subconscious thought and then work towards a way to replace the feeling that these bad habits give with a good one.
DETACH FROM THE OUTCOME. The more you fixate on the long-term results, the more longer, strenuous and exhausting your journey is going to be, especially because you’re going to want to give up as soon as results don’t appear. Focus on the short-term results.
You exercised? Now you feel good inside. You studied hard and understood everything? Great job for being so productive. You did that one really scary thing? What a great start!
THE PART OF YOU THAT DOES BAD HABITS IS NOT BAD. It is the complete opposite of bad. It loves you and wants to keep you safe, so it refrains you from doing anything ‘scary’ (which is typically new things in our lives) and makes you fall back on ‘safe’ habits which are a coping mechanism.
So, instead of berating that part of you that participates in bad habits even if you know it’s bad, understand it. As these coping mechanisms usually stem from our childhoods, we turn to these habits when we feel stressed, anxious or depressed.
On the dusty paths of distant planets our footprints will remain.

there's always time to take a moment
hi there! i’ve always struggled with being lazy and unproductive. but recently, i decided i want to start being ambitious because i know it will be healthy. but i have no goals to be ambitious for. sure, there’s daily things like exercising more and things, but i don’t have long term goals. i don’t know who i want to be when i grow up or what i want to achieve in life. any tips?
Explore your interests: Take the time to try out different activities and hobbies. Whether it's painting, coding, dancing, or even rock climbing, experimenting with various interests can help you discover what truly excites you.
Reflect on your values: Think about the things that truly matter to you. What do you value most in life? Is it creativity, helping others, personal growth, or something else entirely? Identifying your core values can guide you towards meaningful goals.
Dream big, start small: Don't be afraid to dream big and envision the future you desire. Then, break those big aspirations down into smaller, achievable goals. This way, you can make progress step by step while celebrating the small victories along the way.
Embrace trial and error: It's okay to try different paths and make mistakes along the way. Life is a journey of self-discovery, and sometimes we need to explore different avenues to find what truly resonates with us. Embrace the process and learn from every experience.
Seek inspiration: Surround yourself with positive role models and seek inspiration from their journeys. Read biographies, listen to podcasts, or follow influential people in fields that interest you. Their stories can spark ideas and motivate you to pursue your own ambitions.
Visualize your ideal future: Take some time to imagine your ideal life in the future. What does it look like? How do you spend your days? Visualizing your desired future can help you gain clarity and set goals that align with your vision.
Get out of your comfort zone: Growth happens outside of our comfort zones. Challenge yourself to step out of familiar territory and try new things. Pushing your boundaries can lead to incredible personal and professional growth.
Find a mentor or role model: Connect with someone who has achieved success in a field you're interested in. Their guidance and insights can provide valuable direction as you navigate your own path.
Be open to change: Remember that goals and aspirations can evolve over time. Stay open to new opportunities and be willing to adapt your plans as you grow and learn more about yourself.
Enjoy the journey: Embrace the process of self-discovery and goal-setting. Life is all about the ups and downs, the challenges and triumphs. Embrace each step along the way and find joy in the pursuit of your ambitions.
I hope this helps!! xx
