Fun Little Ways to Remind Whumpee of Who They Belong to!

The good ol' branding! Never fails! Extra fun if you have to remove the previous whumper's brand first!

The Artistic Whumper™'s Tattooing! Is it somewhere easily visible or is it somewhere slightly hidden? Did whumper have to remove whumpee's previous tattoos?

Collars! Yes!! Can never get enough! Do they have bells in them so that whumpee can't sneak around? Of course we have the excellent shock collars! Do they have a tracking chip that whumper may or may not let whumpee know about? Is it so tight that it reminds whumpee of its existence with their every breath? Or is it loosely hung around their neck as a casual reminder?

Changing whumpee's name? How quickly does whumpee accept it? What does whumper have to do to make them accept it? By the end of their conditioning, does whumpee remember their original name or not? Does whumper give whumpee their surname? Do they get a human name Or do they simply get a set of numbers and/or letters?

Changing whumpee's appearance? Whumpee with dyed hair watching their hair grow so much in captivity that the dye is only on the ends now? Or does whumper dye their hair a different colour? Or does whumper simply cut most of it off? Alternatively, whumper having short haired whumpee grow long hair because they love pulling it around? Defiant short haired whumpee cutting their hair off to rebel? And that's just hair! Clothing? Whumpee who loves fashion being forced to wear bland clothes or clothes they don't like? Whumpee who loves simplicity being forced to be decorated by whumper or forced to decorate themself according to whumper's standards? So! Much! More!

Feel free to add more!

Tips about how to write a character living with trauma

Sometimes you forget what you’ve been through isn’t normal, so you slip up about a traumatic thing that happened and only realize it’s weird when people look at you, disgusted

You always have nightmares. Even if it’s not about the traumatic thing (more about PTSD nightmares here)

Everyone breaks differently and trauma changes you entirely. You may become unrecognizable once people break through your facade

You’re still you, tho, but you’ve just changed so much

You ask yourself constantly if it really happened. If it really was that bad. You only have memories of memories, the more time passes, the less you remember the moment it actually happened

Leaving the house becomes a daily challenge. It’s hard and scary, and who knows what’s waiting for you out there

You may become paranoid. There’s cameras in your room, there’s people in your house, there’s people waiting for you to go out so they can kidnap you, etc

Everyone seems different to you

Every little joke, every little comment people pass on something related to your trauma feels like a bullet in your stomach

Triggers are weird. Coffee tables can become a trigger. Blue eyes. White jacket. Such small meaningless things can send you spiraling down a panic attack and wishing for death

People rarely try to understand. People don’t ask questions. They just wait for you to get over it. But you don’t

Everyone becomes impatient with you. Even professionals. Your therapist might fire you, your friends might call you annoying for flinching, etc

There’s always people that will mock your triggers and trigger you on purpose. Always

Being free is extremely weird when you’re not used to it. You don’t know what to do with yourself

There’s a lot of chances you will develop a personality disorder when going through intense trauma

A lot of people will pressure you to forgive. It only makes things worse

PTSD never goes away. You can work on it, conquer some of your triggers, but it still stays. It doesn’t magically go away once you get cared for

You never believe anyone that says that they’re in love with you. It’s definitely a joke, a cruel cruel joke

You don’t trust anyone. You second guess each of their words

People that are overly happy are suspicious

You’re always tense, though you may not realize it anymore

You’re terrified of relaxing or just not being constantly anxious. What if something bad happens once my guard is down?

Every social interaction is terrifying. You don’t know how to read people, you don’t understand hidden meanings, you don’t dare to assume anything anymore

You might become materialistic. Clinging to every object you find. You can’t let go of anything

You’re terrified of appearing weak

You might develop a superiority complex or even a god complex as a way to cope with having felt inferior for so long

You will be blamed for your trauma. You will be asked why you talk about it so much, why didn’t you do anything to save yourself, why you didn’t fight back, etc

Some people like to make you flinch. It makes them feel stronger than you

You will trigger yourself on purpose to get used to it (reading things with your triggers, watching movies/videos, etc)

You will make your pain worse to get used to it (hitting yourself on bruises you already had, pinching a cut to make more blood flow, etc)

You don’t care if you live or die anymore

You can’t cry, but you always feel like crying. Tears just never come out

You might punish yourself without even realizing it (forcing yourself to take cold showers, burning yourself, etc)

You don’t realize you’re being self destructive and when people mention it you get mad because it’s just how you are now and they should just leave you be

Flashbacks can happen really randomly. You can just be vibing and the boom you remember something horrible that happened

I wrote as much as I could remember at the time, if you have anything else don’t be shy to add it! I you have corrections or other perspectives please share them! Those are all from personal experience so of course they’re biaised, but I made them as neutral as possible!

Just Relax...

Shoutout to @wormwriting for inspiring and helping flesh out this idea! You're so heckin lovely.

(tw: torture mention, touch starved whumpee, over-exhaustion, whump aftercare (whumper caretaker), BAD caretaking, gaslighting, intimate whumper, creepy whumper, forced comfort, blood, (sfw)non-con touch)

Just Relax...

Whumpee shuddered against the cold ground. The concrete bruised against their cheekbone and shoulders, but the dull ache was lost in a wash of exhaustion. It mingled with all the other bruises, scrapes, and cuts and throbbed over every inch of skin.

Everything hurt. They couldn't even fight it anymore. They just fell limp on the ground, praying for reprieve. Their muscles shivered, begging for rest; screaming for the pain to stop.

And Whumper stopped.

Blessedly, they stopped.

Whumpee took in a few shuddering breaths as Whumper crouched down next to them.

"Oh darling, you look so tired..." A hand crept between their cheek and the floor. It pushed them up. Whumpee blinked hard, trying to wash away the fog as they met Whumper's gaze.

It was softer. Kinder.

That meant...they were done.

Finally.

"C'mere," Whumper whispered, tugging on their wrist to tug them up into a sitting position. "You can rest now."

Whumper shifted forward pulling Whumpee to lean into their chest.

"N-no. Don't t-t-touch m..." Whumpee twitched and jerked away from the hands, but Whumper applied a steady, gentle pressure. Eventually, Whumpee could't fight it anymore. They shivered against Whumper's chest as the other held them close.

Whumpee's muscles twitched, begging to rip free, but Whumpee didn't dare move. They held completely still. Rigid and trembling. Twitching slightly as Whumper's fingers brushed slowly through their hair.

Whumpee's lip quivered. "D-don't-"

"Shhh....sh sh." Whumper hummed. "It's okay....It's over now."

Somehow, Whumpee didn't believe that.

But they were so tired.

Their back tingled with bruises, gashes, and welts. A trickle of blood crept slowly down their arm. Their head throbbed under the gentle fingers.

Whumper's arm around their waist barely dodged the ripped flesh, safely pressing against the unmarred spaces. Their warmth soaked slowly into Whumpee's shivering skin.

Whumpee's breaths slowed. They steady, slow cadence of Whumper's breath mirrored the hand brushing softly along their scalp. In..........and out. In..........and out. Fingers brushed smoothly from their hair-line, smoothing above their ear, trailing down their neck. Then beginning again. Over and over again - predictable and warm.

The ebbing, twisting aches slowly started to fade until they were barely a thought, replaced by the rhythmic, warm sensation. Their knotted muscles slowly unwound, melting into the touch. Whumpee closed their eyes and let themselves go limp in Whumper's arms, drinking in the warmth and quiet.

Whumpee cried out, jolting away again as Whumper's fingers dug deep into a gash on their side. Fiery pain tingled up their back, rekindling the aching burn in the marred and bloodied flesh. They writhed and pulled, but Whumper had already tucked their hand safely under the marks.

"L-let go. Let go of m-me." Whumpee took in harsh, ragged breaths, pushing on Whumper's chest. They shoved and writhed, but Whumper's hands pinned them in place, shoved awkwardly against them.

"Relax," Whumper murmured, guiding Whumpee's head back under their chin with a strong but gentle hand. Whumpee pulled away as best they could, but they were so weak. So tired.

"It's okay. You're done now. You can rest."

Whumpee squirmed, but Whumper's grip kept them pinned in place. Their heart was beating far too fast. It demanded faster and faster breaths until Whumpee's head spun with the effort.

"Please, Whumper. I-"

"Shh. You need to calm down." They resumed petting Whumpee's hair. They ignored Whumpee's finches and whines. The cold concrete bruised into their knees, cold seeping into the joint. Whumpee squeaked as Whumper pulled them closer.

"It's okay. Everything is okay now. I'm not going to hurt you anymore." Whumper's voice hummed though their chest, warm and rich, pressed against Whumpee's ear. It was...a nice sensation. Whumpee froze, letting the sound soak through their skull.

Whumper must have noticed, because they started to hum. A low, slow, rich lullaby filled the room as Whumpee trembled. The sound was soft - hardly audible - but the vibration wound through Whumpee's flesh. Their cheek, pressed to Whumper's collarbone, warmed at the sensation. They felt their heart slow again as the melody grounded them.

They were so tired. So so so tired.

And Whumper was so holding them so close.

Whumpee slowly unwound, relaxing further and further until they fell limp again. They slumped against Whumper's chest once more, relishing the soft warmth that soaked through their skin.

Whumpee barely registered Whumepr’s arm pulling back before their fingers dug deep into another gash.

Whumpee screamed this time, shoving Whumper away. Adrenaline shot back through their limbs, barely beating out the pain spiking down their veins.

They jerked against Whumper's hands. "D-dont!" They tried to skitter back, but Whumper's grip locked around the back of their neck and at their wrist. Whumpee clawed uselessly at Whumper's fingers, eyes wide and frantic.

Whumper's face was full of gentle concern, but their eyes danced with amusement. "It's okay. Don't fight me now."

Whumpee whimpered as Whumper reeled them back in by their neck. They trembled as they were tucked back into Whumper's embrace again.

They pushed away lightly, afraid to do more. Whumper ignored their pitiful efforts. They just held Whumpee close, careful not to touch any of the wounds. Whumpee trembled.

Whumper's voice was so soft. "It's okay...calm down, love."

Whumpee gasped as Whumper's fingertips trailed along the edges of a smaller cut. It tingled with a phantom burn - a subtle promise of what would come. Whumpee squirmed further into their chest, trying uselessly to avoid the touch. Every muscle was pulled taught, ready to spring. Shivering and twitching at every movement.

Whumper laughed softly. Warmly.

"I don't know why you're so tense. You can rest now. Just relax."

Whumpee didn't dare.

this is so fucked but—

a whumpee that’s just kept perpetually beaten stupid

whumper just thinks they look so cute when they’re all dizzy and melty and blank

maybe they’re concussed again, or they lost too much blood, or they’ve just been backhanded a few too many times that day. maybe whumper keeps them sleep deprived and overworked, underfed and on the brink of collapse

and if their little pet starts to think too much—says anything beyond a few slurred words and those pretty sounds— starts looking like they’re having thoughts—

whumper can just slap them around a bit until their eyes glaze over and they’re disoriented and staggering again.

“it’s alright pet, you look better on the floor anyway.”

Soft Caretaker / Whumpee Interactions

Wouldja look at that. Sand can write comfort. Weird, I know. @not-amber-schmidt got me thinking about it.

Just some soft comfort things for your bruised babies in recovery. Enjoy.

Caretaker and Whumpee spread out a picnic blanket in the park, watching for shapes in the clouds and they role lazily by.

Caretaker and Whumpee sitting on a beach, trying to guess who the seagulls will terrorize next. Laughing and exchanging "I told you so"s when they get one right.

The two decorating the house for the holidays. Snacking on far too much chocolate and candy as they put up cheesy figurines and window stickers.

Caretaker making two cups of tea and wordlessly handing one to Whumpee, sitting next to them so they are just a little bit less alone.

Whumpee knocks quietly on Caretaker's door after a nightmare. They slip into Caretaker's bed, snuggling in close and letting the fear melt away into warmth and sleepiness.

Caretaker and Whumpee curled up on the couch watching a horror movie. Caretaker holds them close during the scary parts, letting them bury their face in Caretaker's shoulder.

Caretaker and Whumpee are washing both sides of a glass door at the same time. Caretaker laughs, trying to perfectly mirror Whumpee's movements. Whumpee darts the rag back and forth, trying to evade them until the two are cracking up, playing tag until the glass is spotless.

Caretaker and Whumpee sit on the ground in front of a campfire, staring into the shimmering coals and telling countless stories.

The two climb onto the roof with a bottle of cheap wine in the middle of the night. They just lay there, passing it back and forth as they stare up at the constellations.

Caretaker and Whumpee singing along to the song on the radio at the top of their lungs, bouncing up and down as they drive down long, empty highways lit by stars.

Caretaker gently putting a kitten in Whumpee's lap. Reassuring them that they won't drop it or hurt it. Guiding their hands to pet gently along its back as it curls up to sleep.

Caretaker gently brushing through Whumpee's hair, pulling free any knots or tangles.

Caretaker making Whumpee close their eyes. They hand-feed them pieces of fruit or candy, letting them try to guess what one they just got. Whumpee gets most of them wrong, but is laughing anyway, swearing they're doing better than Caretaker would.

Caretaker washing Whumpee's hair. Whumpee's eyes flutter closed as Caretaker massages the sweet shampoo into their scalp. Their tense muscles unwind under the soothing, rhythmic pressure.

Caretaker and Whumpee playing Jenga on the floor of the living room. Caretaker blows on the tower, prompting Whumpee to squeal 'No no no!' as Caretaker laughs. When Whumpee wins regardless, they beam at Caretaker.

Caretaker holds Whumpee's hand as they drive, gently rubbing their thumb up and down Whumpee's.

Caretaker asks Whumpee to cut their hair. It's just a trim, but Whumpee is nervous they'll mess it up. "Don't worry. I trust you. It's going to turn out great."

Caretaker reading a book out loud while Whumpee works on small chores, knowing their voice will sooth them, even if the words are random or out of context.

Caretaker draws a bath for Whumpee after a stressful day. They get it exactly the right temperature with scented, soothing oils. A place where they can just escape, sit and forget the worries of the day.

Caretaker snugging Whumpee in a big, fluffy blanket, wrapping them up like a big floofy burrito.

Playing video games together, just letting the world melt away as they explore the game and talk to npcs, reading the dialogues out loud in silly voices.

Hugs. Just....big hugs. Long hugs when Whumpee comes home. Quick goodbye hugs. Surprise hugs. Tackle hugs. Soft hugs. All the hugs.

Caretaker and Whumpee walk through the park, holding hands. Pointing out squirrels chasing each other around the trees and sitting for a while to watch the ducks swim.

Caretaker gives Whumpee their big, cozy, worn out hoodie. Whumpee wraps themself completely in it, refusing to take it off.

Forceful caretakers & defiant whumpees

A prompt from my hidden injuries post got me thinking about this dynamic ✨ (using FC for forceful caretaker)

Content: Forceful/bad caretaker, forced medical treatment, defiant whumpee, restraints, gags, caretaker turned whumper, manhandling, forced stripping (nonsexual), humiliation my beloved

A whumpee for whom mysterious injuries are a chronic problem—a regular occurrence—they keep dodging their friends questions, they start hiding their injuries, albeit poorly sometimes, until one day they come in so incredibly injured, with blood seeping through their clothes and dark bruises on their skin, poorly hidden beneath a layer of concealer that does little to mask the deep patches of dark purple and red.

Eventually, FC is fed up. They’re all just trying to help and whumpee doesn’t even appreciate it. They keep brushing them off. How insulting. How ungrateful.

One day FC finally snaps and they shove whumpee back against the wall, making them wince and gasp sharply with the pain of the movement.

FC pins them there with a vice grip around their throat— “Oh, you’re fine, are you? Then what the hell was that, hm?””

“N-nothing I—“ FC jabs a finger into the side of their ribcage, and whumpee hisses in pain, their eyes squeeze shut tightly— they’re shaking between wincing, panted breaths.

They can’t hide their reactions any better than they can hide the limp in their step, the way they wince and grab their side when they think no ones looking. But now FC has proved it in front of the whole group, and whumpee is not getting away that easily.

Another forced exposure: Whumpee wincing at something one too many times— maybe someone just lightly bumps into them— and their pained reaction has FC grabbing their wrist and hauling them off like—“Thats it I knew it, I fucking knew it. WHAT have I told you. Get in the car NOW.”

And whumpee is pulling back against their grip, “I’m sorry im sorry! Just please don’t—“ — “Shut. Up. Now get in. We’re going to the fucking hospital.”

Whump Tropes: Gasping

(Tw: choking, drowning, death, knives, abuse)

Whumpee gripping uselessly at fingers around their throat, clawing as they choke and gasp for air. Their world slowly turning sideways and fading to black.

Caretaker cradling a coughing, gasping Whumpee as blood fills their lungs. Just watching them turn blue and not able to do anything to stop it. They just whisper over and over: “You’re going to be okay. You’re going to be fine.” Neither one of them believes it.

A Whumpee yanked out of the water by their hair, choking on the air, clawing at the side of the tub. Desperate to get in more than a few lungfuls this time before they are thrust under again.

Whumpee taking in sharp spikes of air, no longer able to stay silent and stoic as the whip cracks down over and over again on mutilated flesh.

Whumper relishing the little gasps, squeals, and shivers that the lightest touches create. Trailing their fingers anywhere they can reach and occasionally digging into freshly healing wounds to hear Whumpee’s sweet little sounds.

Whumpee gritting their teeth as they clean and stitch up their own wound. Clumsy, shaking fingers digging into sensitive skin, but at least Whumper is gone and they can make as much noise as they want. Air hisses through clenched teeth as they dab at the wound, wondering if they really have the stomach to stitch it themselves.

Caretaker too shocked to suppress a gasp when Whumpee disrobes. For the first time, they see just how many scars and bruises are sunken into Whumpee’s flesh.

A terrified Whumpee’s little gasp as they feel the cold sharpness of a knife pressed against their throat. They try not to squirm around it as Whumper grins at their adorable response.

Hey! Could you please do a promptlist for interrogation tactics please

Yes!!

A torture interrogation tactics list sounds like such a good idea! I’d love to write some torture interrogation things for you. There’s so many different methods and categories to explore when torturing interrogating, so this might go a little long 😅

There's both physical and psychological tactics (of course there's some crossover, but ya know).

(tw: so much....idk how to even tw for this because....well...that would just be re-writing the list. But there's eaten-alive animal whump and some light fingore which hits the big common squiks. lots of basic torture and pain)

.

Physical Techniques

Long Game

Drip torture. Tie them down with something rigged up above them so water will drip on their face every few seconds. Make it so they cant move - so each drop hits the same place every time. At first, it's no big deal. After a few hours, they start to lose their minds. They go numb yet it's excruciating. Their body doesn't know how to process the sensation anymore and they start begging. It's so easy and so lovely.

Thousand-cut torture. Just make hundreds of tiiiiiiiiny little cuts. Paper-cuts, really. Each one stings and burns, but nothing major. But hundreds? Thousands? It becomes too much so so so so fast. They go numb, then hypersensitive. Each one compounding on the others.

STRESS POSITIONS. Sorry this is a favorite. I get excited. Tie them in a way that strains them. Their muscles. Their joints. Don't let them sleep. There's only the constant ache and unnatural twisting of their bones. Or...ropes around their neck. Don't fall asleep, Whumpee. You won't wake back up....

Cold. Keep them in a cold room. Let them shiver and watch their fingers turn blue. Constant aching, never sure when they can get out.

Alternately, heat. Let them go delirious from dehydration, checking in only so see if they're ready to talk.

Thousands of tiiiiiny stabs. Similar to the thousand-cut torture, but just poke poke poke with a needle. Over and over again. They'll go hypersensitive. Then numb. Then it's back again. See witch tests for more.

There's a lovely cowboy torture where you soak a leather whip or lariat in water (let it get nice and soft and stretched out), then tie it around the victim's throat. String them up so they're standing comfortably in their noose. The sun beats down on them. The leather dries. The rope shrinks. Slow-motion strangulation. All the time in the world to think about the sensation of dying. All the time in the world to change their mind about being uncooperative.

Pain

Do I really need to get too much into this?? We have.....

Ripping off fingernails.

Breaking bones.

Cutting/stabbing.

Dislocating joints. Bonus points if you keep popping it back into socket, then grinding it out again. Over and over. Lots of screaming with that one.

Burning.

Pressure Points.

Whipping.

Electrocution.

Etc etc etc. Y'all know how to whump, I have faith in you lol.

Air

People get desperate so fast when they cant breath. We have....

Drowning.

Water-boarding.

Strangulation.

Plastic bags over the head.

Just covering their mouth and nose.

Keeping them in a small, sealed room - let them slowly panic as the oxygen runs out.

.

Psychological

Isolation. Lock them in a room for months on end. Irregular meals. No access to clocks or windows. Just constant droning silence and grey walls. Let them go mad

The REID method. Honestly not torture - genuine interrogation. It's no longer allowed for use in police stations because it messes with the subject's head so much they often confess to things they didn't do - even to the point of believing they did. It includes things like crowding and intimidating the subject, and talking over them to prevent them for verbalizing anything you don't want them to say (eg: denial).

Hints. Just clues. Let them drives themselves mad trying to figure out what you're going to do next. For example, walk in with a rat, a bucket, and an iron. Take a phone call and walk out with a 'I gotta handle this, I'll be back in a bit'. Just let their imaginations run wild.

More blackmailing than true interrogation, but just show Whumpee a list of names and addresses. Let them see that it's not just their life on the line - there's plenty of unsuspecting loved ones out there who would have no idea what hit them.

PHOBIAS. Okay I have a thing for phobias, don't come for me. But it takes so little effort if you have their weak spot. Is it spiders? Snakes? Darkness? Small Spaces? Find it. Use it. Watch them break.

This is half physical, but....Bleeding out. Make a cut. Watch it drip. Every drop brings them closer to death. Give them a nice long time to think on that.

The good-old-fashioned 'make them watch'. Let Whumpee see you torturing a loved one or a friend instead. See how long they can stand hearing the screams.

.

Animals

Okay this might get a little squikky, but there's lots of animals that can be of assistance.

Rats. Leave whumpee bound and defenseless, preferably bleeding, and rats will have no qualms nibbling away at them. (bonus points to anyone who knows / can guess the rat and bucket thing I mentioned earlier).

Wild animals (particularly wolves, coyotes, wild dogs). Same concept. Leave them smelling delicious and defenseless and let them wait there, knowing the animals will gladly tear them apart when Whumper leaves.

Bugs. Especially spiders, most people do not like. They especially wouldn't like...say...being stuck in a box full of them. Unable to even open their mouth without getting some inside. Fire ants would also be great.

Pigs. Probably not a good long-game, but they'll eat you alive. They're vicious. Unlike the others, they truly don't care if you fight back. They'll tear your Whumpee to shreds and take care of most of the evidence for you. For a whumpee who knows what pigs can do, the thought of being forced in that pen is terrifying.

Just imagine if the Whumper had a box of bullet ants. Most painful sting on earth (supposedly), and it won't kill you. Not even a little. Every wrong answer gets you another sting.

I...uh...know another cowboy torture from old movies that I'm not gonna elaborate on, but it involves a hungry baby calf and only works on half the population. Just...I'll just...leave you to figure that one out.

Maggots. Maggots are actually pretty good for open wounds - they eat out the dead cells but leave the living. Still, imagine how horrifying it would be to be bound and have to watch maggots eat away your flesh. And the smell.

.

Dialogue Prompts

Here, have some dialogue prompts just for the heck of it - I loved this request, so my mind is roaming. Enjoy XD

Are your lips feeling any looser now?

Are you sure you can take more?

Beg all you want, it won't help. You know what you have to do to make it stop.

Crying already? Cute.

How are you feeling?

Sure. Of course I'll take it off. As soon as you tell me where they are.

I'm going to ask again...

Mmm nope. Not the answer I was looking for. Try again.

You can't break already. I've hardly touched you.

Would you like to reconsider my offer?

Let's try this again. Where are they?

No? Alright, back in you go.

Aww, tired already? I'm not. I could go all night.

Last chance.

'Kill' you? Now why would I want to do that? We are having so much fun together.

You make so many noises. Too bad none of them are useful.

.
