reblog and put in the tags an anti blorbo you have (character you love but they're from source material you either hate or are uninterested in)
I JUST SAW AN AD FOR ‘MORBIUS’ AND I’M SHOOK.
IT’S COMING OUT ON MY BIRTHDAY, YA’LL. I HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THIS SHIT.
Disney, don’t you dare let me down-
Isn't "shipping yourself with real people" just... having a crush? Why is that in your DNI?
It's meant to be about celebrities and youtubers. Crushes on classmates and friends differs from making ship art/writing of yourself and some random shmuck that makes comedy content online, or some dude who acts in movies, you know? Haha.
Parasocial relationship stuff is what I meant.
If I made a Batman movie, I'd cast Robert Carlyle as Scarecrow/Jonathan Crane.
Look at the roles he's played and tell me that man wouldn't do a fantastic job. Whether you want him more serious, or more 'hroo hraa'-esq, he'd play the part well.
I feel it in my bones. He's the ultimate choice.
I watched the animated ‘The Mummy’ series so often as a kid, that I managed to quote the beginning monologue at the start of each episode almost 100% perfectly as soon as I heard it.
I just saw that it was on Peacock and decided to watch it again for nostalgic reasons. Then as soon as the music kicked in, I managed to quote it along with the narrator almost word for word, lol.
As much as we all like to imagine a universe where Loki survives Thanos and joins the Avengers in some ‘good ending’ plot line... I genuinely don’t think he’d be an Avenger for very long, if at all.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying he can’t ‘be a good guy’ or anything, but I can’t see him being an Avenger. Not only because of his bad rap with earth, not only because Thor is involved and their relationship is rocky at best, but because of the other characters.
I have no problem believing that Bucky, Steve, Thor, Vision, and maybe Bruce (Seeing Ragnarok) would be willing to give him a chance. Strange and T’challa... maybe, if simply because they weren’t really involved with/aware of his ‘mishaps’ in New York. However, the others? ...I genuinely can’t see them being too welcoming to him. Especially Tony, Clint, Pietro, and Wanda.
The situation with New York I imagine would hit a little too close to home for Wanda and Pietro, so they’d at the very least be wary of him at first. Tony and Clint on the other hand, would be unabashedly cold to him. I can see Tony even borderline bullying him sometimes. (Using him as a punching bag because he was the root cause of his trauma from NY? Maybe not purposefully, but I can see him subconsciously targeting him for that reason.)
Other characters like Sam, Peter P, and Scott would probably only have known him through the news and other things detailing the events of the disaster, so would most likely see him as a terrorist. I don’t think I need to explain why that would cause some issues.
Because of this animosity, I don’t see Loki being able to be an Avenger. Not because they wouldn’t try, but because Loki just wouldn’t be able to stomach the treatment he’d be levied.
Honestly, he might be similar to Natasha in that regard. Wanting to ‘clear his ledger’ and believing that joining a group of ‘heroes’ would help him redeem himself. Only this time, instead of it being filled with hydra members, it’s filled with people who treat him just like everyone in Asgard did when he was growing up.
A chance he’d be given, but some characters would give it reluctantly, and some would keep treating him like a criminal until he eventually just gave up and left.
Dunno, that’s just how I see it. Don’t let me ruin your fun though, a ‘happy ending’ is definitely deserved for all of these characters, so feel free to disregard this little angsty headcanon of mine, lol.
Also, if you disagree and think I’m mis-characterizing someone or missing a piece of info, feel free to explain why. I like having discussions about stuff like this, haha. ^v^
You know... it's funny that the movie that has a more accurate wolverine costume ends up being the most box office breaking, huh?
It's almost like... I don't know, maybe you should have people who actually know the original source material working on movies involving comic characters? Unlike some people I know?
I think it's kind of sad that I can't bring myself to care about new stuff in the MCU anymore.
It's not about superhero-fatigue or whatever other things people are suggesting may be the cause, though. I feel like the reason I and many other people are starting to overlook new stuff and not care is because the people making those movies and stuff basically just... stopped caring about it themselves.
They stopped really putting effort into it, and it shows. There are a couple of outliers, like Moon Knight, but for every Moon Knight that comes out, there are three Loki series, or Mobius movies. Y'know?
It's become less and less rewarding and less and less fun to watch. Just cash-grabs, rather than actual stories with substance.
And I feel like this is easy to notice when you think about how Invincible and The Boys is super popular despite the idea of 'Superhero fatigue'. The difference between DC/Marvel and The Boys/Invincible? (Besides the violence, obviously.) is that 'The Boys' and 'Invincible' actually have time, effort, and love put into them. While the DCEU and the MCU are both basically being milked to death by the same people who tried to copyright 'Día de los Muertos' after they made the movie Coco.
...But hey, at least we still have the MCU before Ragnarok (+Black Panther) to enjoy, right? We also have all the animated DC and Marvel content, as well as all the comics.
You know how in 'All Dogs Go To Heaven', the dogs all have a watch or other time piece they owned in life that stops when they die?
Does that mean that for most modern people, their 'clock' would be their phones?
Because there's a bunch of different time pieces shown; hourglasses, sundials, pocket watches, Cuckoo clocks, Alarm clocks, etc?
And the time piece most people use and have on them most often now is their phone, so-
“why does that character have to be queer?”
why not?
“why does that character have to be trans?”
why not?
“why does that character have to be a poc?”
why not?
