Based on a True Story:

Ice and Goose: cooking.

Mav and Slider: Joking around at the end of the counter.

Slider: Mav, is the Microwave supposed to be smoking?

Mav looks over to see smoke pouring out of the microwave: ICE THE POTATOES ARE ON FIRE.

Ice running over and opening the microwave. Additional smoke comes out. The potatoes are fine: WHERE THE FUCK IS THE SMOKE COMIMG FROM THE POTATOES AREN'T BURNT.

The microwave begins making weird noises. More smoke come out, then the microwave makes a popping sound. and the smoke stops coming.

The Microwave caught on fire.

Someone tell me this doesn't fucking describe the "wingmen" thing between ice and mav. yes yes they are "wingmen". yes just very good friend who live together and spend every minute together. totally not in love. noooo why would they be?

After, after, they gave his name to a carrier. The Navy never received so many votes for a single name, but she is brand new, shiny, and bigger than the other carrier. They say it is a she, but they call it USS Thomas J. Kazansky because no other name would fit.

Slider serves on in it the his last few years before retirement, Bradley is there more than he's not and Mav doesn't want to hear that name, see it or even imagine what it looks like. Sarah goes to the launch, and Mav spends the night hugging Tom's pillow and desperately trying to remember the feeling of his husband's arms around him.

so, what im hearing is: All the bi bitches are left handed, all the homo/hetero hoes are right handed. I fully support this.

okay so, i’m left handed and was thinking about how tom cruise is left handed and how it fits maverick so well and i started thinking about everyone else, so these are my headcanons:

- Mav: left handed, i can’t exactly describe why he is so left handed core but he just is, you know? he’s always complaining about smudging his writing and not being able to use scissors

- Ice: right handed, this man is the definition of a right handed person and he definitely has really good handwriting, and definitely prefers handwriting over typing on a computer

- Slider: left handed, now this one is a lil funky but hear me out, he was right handed but broke his wrist when he was a kid so he had to learn to write with his left and now he’s just used to it

- Hollywood: right handed, i really have no idea about this but he just doesn’t give lefty vibes, maybe because he’s just so normal man to me

- Wolf: ambidextrous, in my mind wolf and mav are the same guy in different fonts, very energetic and always itching to do something with their hands, he thinks it’s the coolest thing and tells every new person he meets

- Goose: right handed, once again a very normal dude, also i think mav and carole would both be lefties and goose would be the calm that balances them out, he tried to train himself to write with his left hand cuz he thought it was cooler, but it never worked

- Carole: left handed, y’all cannot tell me this woman is not left handed, the vibes are immaculate and i think being left handed makes people more fun and she’s fun so boom

The first time Ice's realise they are in love is during their deployment in Italy. It's only for three months, but after a week, Mav discovers a little bakery not far from the base and he gets there when he can to buy a loaf or two.

The realisations come because, on Sunday morning, they are making lunch, and Mav scraps away the excessive flour from the top of bread like it's a normal thing to, something he's doing for years even if it's the first time Ice's noticed.

(Tom said something about too much flour on bread once, seven years ago. He doesn't remember what was the occasion.)

After that, he can't stop noticing all the little things Mav does for him, even if Ice barely mentioned something.

So, while Mav is getting ready for the day, weeks after, Ice can't help but say it.

"Hey, Mav?" He asks, putting down his cup of coffee "I'm in love with you."

Mav smiles. Ice can't say he's ever seen something, or someone, as beautiful as his boyfriend in that moment.

"I love you too."

Tis my day of birth, so in honor of that, here are top gun characters and their birthdays.

Mav: Expects people to forget, but always ends up surrounded by all his family and friends. (The daggers especially love surprising him at work)

Ice: Often has to work through his birthday, so mav always wakes him up nicely ( if you know what i mean ;) ) and has a (takeout) fancy dinner prepared when he gets home.

Goose: fucking LOVES birthdays. absolutely has the biggest backyard barbecue every year, complete with a homeade cake that carole makes for him.
