Hello, my name is Musab. I am 22 years old and was studying medical equipment engineering at Al-Azhar University in Gaza. I had simple dreams, hoping my life would continue as I wished. I worked hard, hoping to build a future for myself and my family. But everything changed suddenly due to the war that devastated my life and my family, Even my pets.

claera-mal - Bloodstone fallen.

The conflict took everything from me: my job, my passion for continuing my studies, my home, and most painfully, some of my family members who were lost in the destruction and bombing, Even my pets, who are an inseparable part of my family, are struggling alongside me. They too feel the fear and anxiety Our lives have been reduced to ashes, and we are left with nothing. We now live without money, food, or a livable shelter, struggling to survive with the barest of resources in harsh and unforgiving conditions.

claera-mal - Bloodstone fallen.

Every day, I struggle to survive and try to continue my education under these harsh conditions.

claera-mal - Bloodstone fallen.

Today, I appeal to anyone with a human conscience to offer us a helping hand. I don't ask for much, I just seek a chance to secure daily sustenance for me and my family, then shelter, and finally the ability to complete my studies to fulfill my dream of becoming an engineer and contributing to the rebuilding of my community. I believe that if I receive enough support, I can succeed and rebuild my life and the lives of my family.

In the heart of war-torn Gaza, where destruction and loss are a daily reality, lies the deeply moving tale of Dr. Husam Farhat and his family. Amidst the relentless bombardment, Dr. Farhat faced an unthinkable tragedy: the martyrdom of his beloved sisters, Inas and Amal, along with their husbands and children, and his brother Mustafa. This devastating loss shattered not only their dreams but also their hopes for a peaceful future.

Life Before the War: Memories of a Beautiful Home

Before the war, my life revolved around a beautiful home where I lived with my wife, our daughter Sham, and our sons Muhannad and Muhammad. This home was more than just a place to live; it was a sanctuary filled with love, warmth, and the joy of watching my children grow. Every corner of our home echoed with their laughter, turning it into a place where dreams for the future felt not only possible but inevitable, but then the war came, and in an instant, everything changed. The place where we once felt safe and secure was reduced to rubble. The life we had carefully built, the dreams we had nurtured, and the bright future we had planned were all torn apart. The war didn’t just destroy our home; it uprooted our entire existence, leaving us with nothing but the painful memories of what once was, Now, standing in the ruins of our former life, I'm left with fragments of a distant dream. The joy and security we once knew have been replaced by loss and uncertainty as we face a future overshadowed by harsh realities.

The Loss of My Professional Dream and Life After the War

And it wasn’t just my home that was destroyed. My accounting office, one of the most renowned in Palestine, was also reduced to rubble. I had worked tirelessly to build this office, which wasn't just a place of business but a reflection of my passion and dedication to the field of accounting. It was our primary source of income, providing financial stability and security for my family, My office was well-known for its exceptional services and strong reputation among clients. Over the years, it had become a symbol of success and hard work in the accounting world. But the war took it all away in an instant. Everything I had worked so hard to achieve was destroyed, and years of effort and dedication were wiped out in moments, Now, I stand on the ruins of my office, just as I stand on the ruins of my life, trying to piece together the remnants of my dreams and memories. This office was a source of pride for me and my family, but the war has left us with nothing, facing an uncertain and difficult future.

War's Toll on My Dreams and Future

The war didn’t just destroy my home and office; it shattered my dreams and future. As a PhD candidate in Accounting Information Systems at Universiti Utara Malaysia, I was in my final year, pursuing research that is a significant contribution to my field and valuable to entrepreneurs. With a master’s degree with distinction and a bachelor's degree, I also taught at several universities, sharing my knowledge and passion, But the war disrupted everything. Years of hard work, academic progress, and my contributions to the field have been torn apart, leaving me with an uncertain future. Now, I am faced with the daunting task of not only rebuilding my life but also reviving the dreams and ambitions that once drove me. The journey ahead is filled with challenges, but my resolve to continue remains strong.

Displacement and Uncertainty After the War

Now, after all this devastation, my family and I are living as displaced people, homeless and jobless, with no clear future for ourselves or our children. Every day is a struggle to find food for my children, who have been robbed of every chance at a normal life by this war. Once, we lived in Shuja'iyya, in North Gaza, where we had a home, a life, and dreams. But now, after being displaced over nine times, we find ourselves in the refugee camps of Nuseirat, the war has stripped us of everything—our home, our security, and our future. Our daily life has become a constant search for basic necessities, a far cry from the life we once knew. The dreams I had for my children and myself now feel like distant memories, overshadowed by the relentless challenges of survival. Each day brings new uncertainties, as we navigate this harsh new reality, clinging to the hope that one day we might rebuild what was lost.

Israel has launched violent attacks against the people of Gaza once again, with complete disregard for the supposed ceasefire they agreed to. The death counts keep rising and it's no secret that Israel not only kills Palestinian children, but specifically targets them. My friend Sahar @reallyoptimisticface was separated from her children before the current aggression started, and they have been living in Gaza without their parents for almost two years. She knows that they live in danger, and we both worry for them daily. The area they're currently in is an extremely dangerous zone and the lack of connection makes communication hard. Her older daughter Diana has been caring for her younger siblings, but she's suffered burns and wounds from being forced to cook over open flames.

As more news comes out and we see the extent of the Israeli violence, Sahar worries her children may be next. Please stand by her and support her so she can see her children again, bring them to safety, and be together as a family. No child should have to live through this. Your donations can give them some hope.

A Bard's Compromise

O Wind o' mine

Take me far above your Cathedral spire

Above the children's chatter and the morning prayers

Above the bards' glory-driven drivels and the merry-minded man,

Dance me a tune to last my lifetime

Sing me a song to serenade the sorrowful,

loved, and losing,

To watch over the cramped common crowd

In a bar where the drowned come to commiserate

as I, their god,

Ne'er be free as the god most lonely,

May the wind bring me companions

and I shall watch them come and go

as I, left behind where they would call home.

my friends yousef and mona are trying to survive a very dangerous situation... it's hard to focus on fundraising when you are worried more about surviving bombings. they do still need funds. it is getting harder and harder to afford basic needs for both themselves and their baby alaa. i haven't heard any good news about mona's lungs (they were damaged in a previous bombing), so i assume they're as bad as ever. she's told me it's very painful. she can't rest because she spends her nights coughing violently instead. if you can help them at all, here is the link to their fundraiser. since they are fundraising in swedish krona, smaller donations are accepted. anything will help at least a little, but please be aware 10 kr is 94 cents in usd. if you can't donate, please share the post. you have a helpful role.

Sweet Nothing

I stay in your cold embrace,

Arms right around me meant as a blanket, a home

But all it feels is like rope, tying my hands to my sides,

leaving aching skin and red

complaints behind,

And neither of us is happy,

I'm not happy so you're not happy

And you try to satiate me,

Pressing a face against me,

whispered sweet nothings mean nothing

To someone who is feeling numb,

To someone who lost love for who initiated this hug,

Sweet nothings are sweet,

But bite the tongue that eats and it bleeds,

Bitter iron spilling, you only wipe away the leak,

The corner of my lips betray me,

As I try on a smile like I would a new dress,

I don't like this one, it doesn't suit me

Live your lies like a little movie,

Love your regretted loathing like a drug,

I guess we'd just be both at fault here,

Both at fault yet no one stops,

The yelling becomes white noise

In this bleak and burdened union,

We're only wearing rusted rings, not diamonds but obsidian.

You kiss me goodnight, I say 'I love you' like one would say 'good riddance'

Your words candied words that I grind between my teeth,

Tearing to dust like a personal grudge,

And while I do that, in your arms I watch from afar,

you are mourning me like a lost love.

But I am still here, breathing and screaming

Too alive for someone who's discontent,

Too dead to be someone who once loved you,

We are both lonely, so no one wants to let go,

But what's the point of keeping company

If the other wants to let go?

And a friend once told me

Wise and weeping,

that sweet nothings mean nothing,

to someone who's fallen out of love.

mona STILL can't breathe!!

she's had lung surgery to try and repair the damage the bombings did but her chest is hurting too much for her to sleep through the night. she can't stop coughing. the cold weather is making it worse. she doesn't have the medicine she needs right now, and she still has a 1 year old to take care of while she endures this. she's afraid of dying. she's only 20. if anyone has anything they can spare to help my friend then i would really appreciate it

My Dear, since yesterday in night , we have been forced to leave our homes, and the battle of the needy towards the unknown. With every step we take, the heart strings tear, memories accumulate, and dreams fail to speak. We carry our worries and hopes, and turn to the Rich and Almighty, hoping that He will provide, and remove all distress, and relieve us of all worry. My home, no matter how small and humble, remains a haven of comfort and relaxation, while being forced to leave it remains a source of sorrow and tears. If you want to donate, the link is here

My regards...
