And My wife and I are also eagerly awaiting the arrival of our daughter, but due to the harsh realities of war in our area, we are facing severe financial difficulties.
As the due date approaches, we find ourselves struggling to cover the costs of a cesarean section, as well as my wife’s basic medical and health needs. With no income and the enormous challenges we face daily, we are reaching out to our community for support. In the fifth month of the war, I gave birth to my first child in difficult circumstances and lack of medical facilities in the hospital. I was evacuated from the hospital two hours after giving birth and did not receive full health care. I went to our tent where we live until now. There was no bed for me or my child to sleep in. I faced great difficulty at that time due to the lack of water, the lack of cleanliness of the place and the harmful insects. Now that the war is in its 12th month and my child is 7 months old, I am still suffering the same and I afraid of my child’s dehydration as there is no milk for children or diapers and I afraid of diseases and pollution. I am Yasser Al-Ostath from the Gaza Strip, a young man full of dreams and ambitions. I was on the verge of graduating with an engineering degree, dedicating my vacation days to my hobbies like drawing, reading, playing music, singing, writing, and creating content. But then, war broke out, and my life was shattered.
For over 350 days, I have been displaced and homeless. My home and university were destroyed, and I lost everything I owned. This is not a fantasy; this is my reality.
Four years ago, my father passed away from cancer, leaving me as the sole breadwinner for my family of six. Despite the challenges, I pursued my dreams relentlessly, striving to build a brighter future for myself and my family. But the war took everything – my home, my neighborhood, my city, and my dreams.
The war stole not only material possessions but also intangible treasures: my work, my memories, and the essence of my ambitions. It dismantled the life I had painstakingly built and brought me back to square one. Every intricate detail – both large and minute – has been snatched away: the brushes that once painted magnificent canvases, the oud that resonated with amazing melodies, and the books that whispered countless tales.
All I have left is my family. They are my everything, and I do not want to lose any of them. I want to give them a beautiful future and provide my younger brothers with a better life than the one I had. I want to put a smile back on my mother’s face.

We have been through many wars before, but this war was not like the ones before it. Our lives were turned upside down. We became displaced from one place to another. We are the Anas family, residents of northern Gaza, specifically in the Shujaiya area. In the first week of the war, we fled our home because everyone considered our home to be in a dangerous area. We moved to the Rimal area, specifically in the middle of Gaza. There, we received the news that our home, which contained all our beautiful memories, was bombed. Suddenly, it was gone!!! Just thinking that your home, which you worked hard on and built from scratch and took a lot of your life, was gone in less than a second ! After a while, we left the sands to the Al-Zawaida area because of the heavy shelling. We stayed there for about two weeks, and then the terrorist army asked us to go to Rafah. We actually fled for the fourth time to Rafah and stayed there for two months, some of the most difficult days of our lives, as there was no way or means to live a normal life. 😔😔 After that, because of the invasion of Rafah, we moved to Deir al-Balah. Now, we are in very difficult and oppressive circumstances.
We are asking you with all shame to support and stand by us in these difficult circumstances that everyone knows because we lost our home, our work and any stable source of income. Thank you all.
