hi!! i just want to say how much i love Heart Made of Glass, My Mind of Stone!!! it’s literally the perfect fic and i’m not even exaggerating! i was just wondering how old cait and vi are? i’m assuming it’s the ages they were in ep1 but i always find myself imagining their present self LOL anyways great work as always, im so excited for what’s next :)

Aw you’re so sweet 💜 thank you. They are 17, so slightly older than the first episode. I imagine them a little in between. Vi’s adult hair but not as muscular from beating people up in jail and Caitlyn not as much lean muscle since she’s not an Enforcer. Hope to get the next one out soon. I’m really excited to see what you guys think about this next chapter in particular!

For the first time since Monday, I'm feeling well enough to write again. I've been sick with the worst cold I've had in years. Now, without a splitting headache, I can get back into Noxus. Thanks for patiently waiting everyone. Hopefully I can have it out early next week 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Vi suddenly wished she could freeze time in that very moment of Caitlyn laughing in Vi’s childhood bedroom before everything would change and there was no going back. She raised her hand and pushed Caitlyn’s hair behind her ear, then cupped her cheek. Caitlyn sighed and gripped her fingers, pulling Vi closer as she kissed her palm so tenderly it made the back of Vi’s eyes burn. “I could never have done this without you, Cupcake,” Vi whispered. Caitlyn shook her head. “You are so strong, Violet,” she replied and brought a hand up to Vi’s chest, laying it over her heart. “And you love so fiercely. You are the daughter of revolutionaries. You never would have taken everything my people did lying down. At one point, sooner or later, you would have acted. You love your people too much.” “No. No more of this my people and your people,” Vi said, and the intensity of her tone made blue eyes widen in surprise. “Our people. You and I have bled and lied and killed and sacrificed for this moment. Soon, this will be over, and we can begin building a future that all our people deserve. “Heart Made of Glass, My Mind of Stone” behind the scenes update

So this next chapter gave me some troubles with starting it. With every chapter I’ve had no issues just sitting down and start typing and figuring it out as I go. I think because we’re nearing the end (maybe 6-7 chapters left) that I was starting to worry about pulling everything together. So, I spent a good few hours last night thinking about where the story was and where I want it to go for the sequel and now I’m even more excited and inspired 😁 I had to redo the first 1000 words of the next chapter 3 times, but I got there. Hopefully I’ll have the next chapter out today, but no promises.

I've noticed a bit of a trend with my fics where, in terms of in-story time frames, Caitlyn and Vi fall for each other in a short time and I'm like "hmm, should I have made it longer to be more believable?" But then I remember the time they spent together in S1 was probably no more than 24-48 hours and these gay ass bitches were asking "what about us?" by the end of those few days and we ate it up like goblins 😂

“I have a message and a warning,” Vi eventually said, her voice even and strong. It helped that she actually believed in what she was about to say.  Vander shifted his body and expression at his daughter’s tone. Vi blinked and suddenly before her was not her father, but the Hound of the Underground. She refused to let that intimidate her. “Sounds serious,” he said, pulling out his pipe and lighting it.  Vi met his gaze, unwavering. “Blisters and bedrock serious.” Vander stared at Vi for several moments. Blisters and bedrock. A phrase her mother and Vander would say to each other that went back to their mining days. They used it only when what they were discussing was as serious as it could possibly be. It was a plea for trust, a cry for understanding, and warning to be honest. It was never, ever meant to be used lightly, then or now. To do so would break Vi and Vander’s trust in each other and stain their shared memories of her mother and his best friend.

Powder answered. “You need to separate CT02 and 03. They should never be mixed in their pure forms. Dilution is key to decreasing destabilization. Chem is volatile, but once you break down the compounds to their weakest and spread the power out throughout the machine you use it in, to avoid too much heat build up, you should be fine.”

Powder handed Jayce back the newly edited paper and he read it as if it held the answers to the universe itself. “I need to test this for myself,” he stated. He looked at Vi, with an almost ecstatic excitement. “Vi! Oh, Caitlyn, when did you get here? Doesn’t matter. Vi, I need CT02 and 03. Do you know where to find that in Zaun?”

Vi looked at Powder with a raised eyebrow. Powder smirked. Vi groaned. “Don’t. Don’t say it.”

Powder cackled. “Viktor always has Chemtech compounds on hand, Vi. I’m sure he’d love to see you.”

“Great! Vi, I need you to go to this Viktor and get me CT02 and 03, ten pounds of each compound,” Jayce instructed. “I’ll want plenty to work with and with some left over for back up.”

Vi scoffed. “Ten pounds each? I can’t carry that much weight all the way back with my crutch. Can’t we send a courier?”

Jayce shook his head. “Sorry, Vi, but I can’t let anyone else knowing what I’m doing. Councilor’s orders.”

“I’ll help,” Caitlyn volunteered, her smile far too sweet for Vi’s liking.

Chapter 7 of Low Lays the Devil has been my favorite chapter of this fic so far and it has left me intrigued as to what Caitlyn's plan will be to do with Mohan.

If I recall correctly (correct me if I'm wrong) Mohan is working with Greyson in secret. So:

Hasn't Greyson told Mohan at all about this secret operation that Caitlyn, Vi, Cassandra are planning?

Did Vi's family know about this plan from the beginning and will they have any relevance in it?

Will you introduce the new housekeeper of the Kiramman family Gloria and her relationship with Tobias and Cassandra?

In the Noxus chapter, Cassandra's letters to her daughter mentioned that she was from Ionia and gets along well with her father (I guess she is more sociable and charismatic unlike Emir who was serious and loyal)

Hello!! I'm so glad you liked the chapter! It was so much fun to write 😊

So, Grayson hired Caitlyn on after she was "cast out" from the Kiramman family and paired her up with Mohan, but Mohan doesn't know anything. He figured Grayson was just trying to look out for the young woman she had been unofficially mentoring. It was never a secret thing. Since she's a new officer, he is in charge of keeping her safe while she learns the ropes. So Mohan is completely in the dark. Cassandra even reminds Caitlyn that just because he's a good man doesn't mean they want him in on the plan.

Vi's family knew about the whole plan from the beginning. Mylo is only acting as the heir apparent to House Lanes since someone needs to do it and Powder has been making items for Caitlyn to help her with her own mission (that hasn't come into play yet, but I have an idea for when it will).

I'm not sure if I will introduce Gloria anytime soon (and I have nothing fleshed out for her character as of yet other than she's from Ionia, so she could be any species. Vastaya would be cool, but we'll see how it works out).
