For the first time since Monday, I'm feeling well enough to write again. I've been sick with the worst cold I've had in years. Now, without a splitting headache, I can get back into Noxus. Thanks for patiently waiting everyone. Hopefully I can have it out early next week đ€đ»đ€đ»
Omfg don't look at me. What was supposed to be a cute little one shot has turned into what will be over 10,000 words of pure indulgence đ«Łđ«Ł Hope to have it up before I go to bed but no promises.
I swear on Janna I'm not abandoning Low Lays the Devil in Me, but I have to write a CaitVi one shot inspired by this. I'm already 3000 words into it and it really only will a one shot. Think of it as like a little balm to the angst in Low Lays the Devil đđ

"A good captain would sit back and let their crew bask in the limelight of fighting such a ferocious beast. You're sitting here by yourself, letting them brag to the whole bar, without joining in," Caitlyn explained. "Perhaps I just enjoy my alone time." "They have rooms here for that, yet you sit here alone despite being surrounded by people," she replied easily. Vi's smirk turned into a charming grin, and she pulled the chair she had her arm on out from under the table. "Maybe I was just waiting for the right person to join me," she stated. Caitlyn ducked her head in a coquettish manner before she sat next to the pirate, who did not remove her arm from behind Caitlyn's chair. This is good, but don't get cocky, she warned herself before she spoke again. "So, fact or fiction: did you really fight off a sea scarab in the middle of a storm?"
The Harrowing - Chapter 3 - caitlynkirammansrifle - Arcane: League of Legends (Cartoon 2021) [Archive of Our Own]
Three years ago, as a new and hungry bounty hunter, Caitlyn set her sights on the infamous pirate Captain Vi "Stone Fist" to make a name for herself, marking the beginning of a long, bitter rivalry between the two women.
So, mainly my pride is injured, but I did hurt my left hand a bit tripping and I used my hand to break my fall. Just scraped up, nothing even close to broken or sprained, so all good. I might be a little slow on any updates just because it's awkward to type. Obviously I'm going to sit here and force myself to type through the pain, but just wanted to let you all know. Will be back at in earnest soon with updates for Tethered and Low Lays the Devil in Me!
âSo, erâI donât know if you know,â Vi started, âbut Zaun celebrates The Remembering instead of Progress Day.â âYes, Iâm aware,â Cassandra replied, curiously glancing up at Vi from her letters. âWell, since youâve been okay with me taking Caitlyn to Zaunâfor whatever reasonâwould it be okay if I took her to experience The Remembering?â Vi asked, then started talking quickly, as if Cassandra would say yes if she could justify it fast enough. âI know itâs the night of the Progress Day Ball, but sheâs been to a million of those already and I think itâd be good for her to see what The Remembering is. Itâs a really safe day, we actually jokingly call it a vacation from crime. Even the Chembarons wonât break that tradition.â âViolet, breathe,â Cassandra instructed with a laugh. âYes, you may bring Caitlyn with you. I agree, itâd be good for her to experience it.â
I can't tell if it's because I've read and reread and reread my own fic a million times for editing and referencing, but I am not enjoying going back and cleaning up Heart of Glass lolol. could be that it's just so flipping long, too haha. Maybe I'll just do one chapter a day alongside writing the sequel. For now, I think I'll just play some cyberpunk.
In order to avoid time in Stillwater Prison, Vi must complete community service after getting caught stealing from Jayce Talis, the protĂ©gĂ© of the wealthy and intelligent Councilor Cassandra Kiramman. Instead of spending her nights working at The Last Drop and her days looking after her siblings in Zaun, she now has to be the errand girl to one of the most powerful people in Piltover. However, Vi soon realizes that something isnât right. What secret project is Jayce working on? Why does the councilor keep sending Vi on strange assignments? And why wonât Caitlyn Kiramman leave Vi alone about what life is like in Zaun? Something is festering in the underbelly of both cities and Vi is beginning to suspect that the Kirammans know more than anyone realizes.
OR
A story of what could have happened if Hextech was never invented (with some liberties taken with both LoL and Arcane canon).
So Iâve done a thing and have written almost 30,000 words in three days. Iâm addicted to writing this. It wonât be as heavy as the show is, I donât think, and I already have a chapter by chapter plan for where itâs going.
This is a slow burn with a lot of characters other than Caitlyn and Vi being the focus at times. But donât worry, theyâre still a very prominent feature and the main ship, they just wonât be the only thing being focused on. So there may be whole chapters where they donât speak or interact.
I made this tumblr to share the story and talk about it outside of the comments section of ao3 if anyone wants it, but Iâm honestly not a huge fan of any social media so not sure how active Iâll be on it outside of posting updates and answering people about what Iâve written (without sharing spoilers for upcoming chapters).
Hope I donât regret it đ
Oh. Ooooh hooooo nooooo. Hell yeah. I fucking love this. I knew they were similar, but I hadnât made this connection
Why did you do it?
It could be the 1 beer too many I had tonight but I just saw an edit of Vi and Jinx to the song âThe Ten Plaguesâ from the Prince of Egypt and I am *emotional*
Cassandra hummed. âYou mentioned before that you are not trusting a Kiramman, you are trusting me as Cassandra. Would my last name have anything to do with why Caitlyn was upset after the Remembering?â Vi felt her heart squeeze painfully. âWhat does that have to do with anything?â âBecause I am her mother who loves her dearly,â Cassandra stated very simply. Vi looked away from her, the pain of her and Caitlynâs conversation on the bridge that night clawed at her throat. âIt wouldnât be fair to her for me to hate her name and be with her,â she confessed quietly. âSheâs an honest person, who loves people deeply. I donât know if I could return that kind of love after everything Iâve been through because of people like you, or how you used to be.â
