🍋Sukkot details🍋
One thing I’ve realized I love about Judaism is how there is less of a stress on the gender of G-d vs the feeling of G-d. When I think of the divine, I can’t picture a man or a woman but I do know the feeling of wind before a tornado, or seeing a shooting star for the first time, or feeling the first breeze of summer kiss your cheeks or-
Yes, today is the seventh day of Sukkot, Hoshana Raba! Hoshana Raba is the day on which it is said that the divine judgement which was “sealed” on Yom Kippur is delivered. Outside of Israel, Shemini Atzeret begins at sundown. In Israel, Simchat Torah begins at sundown. Please note timing and observances of these holidays may vary by congregation.
I’m logging off all socials for tomorrow, so I just want to say to my fellow Jews:
I hope you are safe. I hope you are hugged. I hope nothing bad reaches you.
Please take care of yourselves. Not only in physical safety, but mentally too. If social media becomes too much, allow yourself to log off. Try to do something you like - I know it may come with a sense of guilt but I’ve found it helps while grieving.
Feel all you need to feel. Cry all you need to cry - and if that means not crying at all, that’s ok, too.
No October 7th will ever be the same for any of us. This is the first anniversary, hopefully the next one will be a little more bearable. עם ישראל חי

Notes:
If you can't be normal about Jewish people without scanning their entire internet presence to see if they're an ~Evil Zionist~, I can promise you, this isn't the blog for you. I also encourage you to research more about Jewish history, the history of Zionism, and the weaponization of Jewish terms and concepts by antisemites.
This is my blog to be open about my Jewish journey, and explore conversations + connections with other Jewish bloggers. I block people without apology if they make me feel unsafe or unhappy during my time here.
Other intersections of my life might come up, especially in relationship to Judaism. Examples include my experiences as a trans and disabled person.
