One thing I’ve realized I love about Judaism is how there is less of a stress on the gender of G-d vs the feeling of G-d. When I think of the divine, I can’t picture a man or a woman but I do know the feeling of wind before a tornado, or seeing a shooting star for the first time, or feeling the first breeze of summer kiss your cheeks or-
Every day I think about how I opened up to a friend about a threat that was sent to my synagogue, and her initial response was confusion, followed by a statement that whoever sent the threat should know that “Judaism is not the same as zionism.”
I’ve never felt more scared realizing that people I know and work with could rationalize threats of attacks at local American synagogues if the synagogue was ✨Zionist✨
And I think about it all the time, because that was supposed to be a statement of comfort in her mind. With the implication was that I was a good, non Zionist conversion student and had nothing to worry about.
It’s not that people can be grossly antisemitic. Their intention and values were just aimed at the wrong place?? 🤨🙄
I know this isn’t a new line of thinking. But it was jarring to hear it said to my face.
Palestinian and Israeli singers raise their voices together in a moving rendition of “Home” by Phillip Phillips. Despite the violence surrounding them, they sing out for peace, justice, inclusion, and equality.
Learn more about the Jerusalem Youth Chorus here
We are the Jerusalem Youth Chorus: Palestinians and Israelis raising our voices to push back against the violence surrounding us—to reject war, occupation, and terror, and instead sing out for peace, justice, inclusion, and equality. We don’t all share the same opinions—and have hard conversations about them every week—but we do share the same future, no matter what the politicians say. In JYC we have a rare chance to truly hear each other, and that’s what makes the chorus a home for all of us. Every kid deserves to grow up with that same safety and dignity. We know we don’t have the power to single-handedly stop war, but we also know that the reason war continues is because people think there is no alternative. We are the alternative.
Realizing that the majority of leftists I know would probably ditch me if they knew how many of the prayers I recite simply include the word “Israel”

"Kamala Harris raised 50+ million dollars after Biden dropped out!" you fools.... that's the money she got from selling Biden to One Direction :(
a few days ago a coworker asked me to explain Hanukkah and I asked her if she knew what a menorah was. She said, “like the Northern Lights?”
I’m simultaneously haunted by and wild about this concept now. instead of aurora borealis, menorah borealis. menorah borealis
new years eve!!! wooo!!! go crazy go wild! 🥳🥳🥳
The complete and utter lack of self awareness exhibited by the goyim who continuously reblog "antisemitism is bad!" posts in between their regularly scheduled blood libel is truly impressive to witness
Hi I am not a Jew and was wondering why you censor the word G-d like this? Additionally do you do this when speaking also and how does that work then? And if you do censor when speaking then what do you say instead of 'oh my god' or other such exclamations?
(I swear I read about this on another post but I forgot 😅)
Hope you don't mind such a stupid question lol. Please take care, may the hostages return safely soon 🎗🎗🎗
hi! idk the specifications for it but i know that we’re not supposed to write out the name of gd (any of them, and especially tetragrammaton) and some jews, like myself, take it to the level of omitting the ‘o’ to maintain the respect of not writing gds name. like most things with jews, this isn’t true for everyone and there a great many jews who write gd with the ‘o’
personally i’m too lazy for the dash so i write gd and assume people will get it through context. i only started doing this a few years ago and i found it made me more aware of how i relate to gd in the religious sense despite my not being particularly observant.
if anyones got better explanations or wants to share why they spell gd the way they do please do so! i love opinions! the more the merrier!
