the best part abt having a good work ethic but hating capitalism is that while i’m forced to work at a shitty blue and red pizza place i get to look at my managers who are unable to chastise me for being out of dress code and showing up whenever every day bc i do too much for them to fire me. checkmate bitch
careless whisper fucks so insanely hard and i will never forgive the internet for making it a "meme song." tonight the music seems so loud i wish that we could lose this crowd maybe its better this way we'd hurt each other with the things we want to say. if you even care.
Pls reblog if u vote :)
If yes, let me know what colors
If no, what colors would you do?
took me a long time to realize i like confusing people and that’s ok. sometimes u need to just baffle ppl. leave them something w no explanation that they will have to think about. i love confusing people
i just watched smile and idk gonna throw my thoughts in i guess it definitely could’ve been better, the ending makes the entire movie even bleaker than it began as
i feel like her career as a therapist is supposed to be a huge commentary on the healthcare system. like i interpreted it as written by someone who wanted to be/was a therapist or hates therapists, because rose’s breakdown highlights her criticism of her own mental health so much, down to her telling holly she was fine right after she saw someone die. like she continually denies herself any relief but is also denied any relief by pretty much anyone. so like i fucking hate how bleak it is but i think it’s just supposed to reflect that trauma not only is generational, and complex/connected etc., but that so many people are not only underprepared to deal w trauma but also unwilling
like rose opens up at the end but she focuses on her feeling with joel, and she was burnt out when the movie began. idk i’m rambling at this point, especially because i don’t like how it ends but i’m desperately trying to understand the point bc why not idk
the world is getting so ugly and bleak and it’s hard not to feel so hopeless. but we have to remember that they want us to feel that way.
it reminds me of this quote by dan savage - “During the darkest days of the AIDS crisis we buried our friends in the morning, we protested in the afternoon, and we danced all night, and it was the dance that kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for.”
joy is resistance. it’s really scary times but we are all in this together.
having like 3 followers has already gone to my head and one of them is a porn bot that has already messaged me. im finally getting the tumblr experience i wanted when i was 13
No one is talking about this, but I think it’s because no one knows about it
Tw: black man unalived by texas police

Genesis Hicks was a young black man who lived in north texas. While unarmed and running away from the cops, they tased him and let him fall and caused him to die by not caring for his body after being tased. When you cause someone to fall down, you have to be careful that they do not fall and harm their body in the fall. Not taking care of him so that he wouldn’t hit his head is a horrible idea and lead to him being in a coma for 2 weeks and then dying.
I don’t know much about Genesis Hicks’s life before his death, but I do know he was young and scared. He was running away for using a fake ID to purchase a car. There was no reason for the police to think he was violent and they knew he was unarmed before causing him to die.
The Frisco police should apologize, charge those involved with his death, and work with local groups to find better ways of running their department for future cases. This should never happen again.
I know those of you seeing this probably care a lot for black people and for those in our country who are being hurt by the police. If you feel inclined, please share Genesis’s story and urge others to care about his life and the inhumane death he suffered.
If you want to express sympathy or buy flowers in Genesis’s memory this is the place for that:
Oh, so RFK Jr's brilliant plan as HHS Secretary is to "cure" ADHD with labor camps and ban all psychiatric meds? LMAO these are literally the rantings of a lunatic. And that's who they've installed at every level of government.
But here's the thing: You HAVE to see this as lunacy. You CANNOT take this seriously. The second you start thinking one man could actually do this, you're thinking about Kings. DON'T.
If fucking MITCH MCCONNELL - MITCH MCCONNELL of all people - can speak out against what Trump and Musk are doing, what's YOUR representative's excuse? This is the same Mitch McConnell I've been wishing on every goddamn star would pass the fuck away, and HE can say something?
So NO MORE posts about what Musk is doing unless you're posting it with YOUR representative's silence right next to it. Look them up. Call them out. Put a lil picture of them in all of your Elon callout posts. People should know what they look like. Everyone else in America who doesn't do their fucking job gets FIRED. Why are we letting these people collect paychecks for doing NOTHING?
Look at the French - they get it. The second their government tries any of this shit, garbage collectors stop collecting, workers walk out. No discussion. Because they remember something we forgot: THEY NEED US more than we need them.
And don't give me that "but we can't protest, we live paycheck to paycheck" bullshit. You're living paycheck to paycheck BECAUSE you won't protest. BECAUSE you won't unite. BECAUSE you're too scared to imagine what would happen if we ALL just stopped for ONE DAY.
Your representatives work for YOU. Start acting like it.
And if you're not ready to confront other aspects of solidarity yet? Fine. Just remember we're ALL united in oppression under being members of the working class. Start there.
