Being friends with other Pro-Heroes wasn’t an easy feat. With such busy schedules, there’s rarely time to see each other. Politics always play a role. And the media will take even the tiniest thing and run with it. Your eyes meet during an interview and even dare to linger? You’re clearly infatuated. You laugh at one of their jokes or fix your hair in their presence? You must have a crush. Dance at an event? Share a drink? Go out for dinner? See a movie? Dating.
Go home together after a long party because it’s too far to commute back to your place?
You’re clearly fucking.
“Are you sure, Tai?” You made him meet your gaze. You both knew the implications if the media saw you leave together. “I don’t want to give the media another reason to talk about you like that again.”
Taishiro laughed, making his whole body shake, strands of his blond hair falling from the Robin Hood cap he wore. The tight green costume hugged every curve of his body, significantly tighter than it was earlier this evening after he made a few passes at the buffet. Still, he was more muscle than anything else, and the few reporters on scene--specifically the gossip ones--had their eyes glued to him. You had to pull him away before his tights became their namesake and showed off every inch of him. More than they already were.
It was an internal battle to keep your eyes on his chest and above.
“I’m used to it, (Y/N).” He popped a Reese’s pumpkin into his mouth as he smirked.
Fuck. Taishiro smirking, eyes glittering with a hint of mischief, was deadly. You had to lock your knees to prevent yourself from--like a southern lady from the fifties--clutching your pearls and swooning. You blamed the media. It was because of the damn gossip columns that you started to have a crush on the BMI Hero.
When the two of you started taking more and more missions together, hanging out outside of work, doing the things two normal friends do, the media started to spin it as Does Fat Gum Have a Girlfriend? And, no matter how hard you tried not to read it, all that speculation started to get to you. Like how apparently his eyes were practically “brimming with hunger” --their words--whenever he looked at you. Or how he supposedly stands closer to you during interviews and always tries to make you laugh.
And with that came all the talk about other aspects of Tai’s life. Particularly what it was like behind closed doors, where clothes were optional. There was endless speculation on Tai’s...physical appearance. You’d been asked more than once if you’d seen Taishiro in anything other than his hero costume or everyday clothing. Usually with Tai right next to you. Your face always burned as you bypassed the question. Sometimes Tai would laugh and drop his hand to the small of your back, making you stutter through your words even worse than you already were.
But that’s why you stared up at the hero as the party continued in full swing around you. You were a forty-minute train ride from your apartment. Tai’s place was a ten-minute cab ride. A notion he realized himself when he caught you trying to hide a yawn. He was already picked apart in the media; if the two of you left together and anyone saw you both enter his apartment? The media would have a fucking frenzy with it. Not to mention the fact that you didn’t think you’d be able to survive spending the night there. Not when your mind was very far in the gutter.
He’d asked you to dance earlier, and when the upbeat pop song changed to a slow, romantic one, you’d nearly sprinted from the dance floor. Except, to Tai, you were just two friends dancing. So he saw nothing weird about hooking an arm around your waist, pulling you close--so close that you could feel every dip and ridge of his muscles--and swaying to the music. You’d spent half the song praying he couldn’t hear or feel your thumping heart and the other half ignoring how fantastic his body felt against yours and how it made you feel.
“I’m really okay take the train back to my place, Tai; I don’t want to impose.”
“(Y/N),” he said as he leaned down and smiled his staple crooked smile, “you could never impose.”
You bit your lip. You really shouldn’t go home with him. That wouldn’t help your growing feelings. Not at all. But you couldn’t say no to him when he smiled at you like that. So you nodded, shoved down your feelings, and whispered an okay.
“Great!” He hooked an arm around your shoulders and steered you towards the exit. “Let’s go.”
“Wait, Tai.” Panic erupted in you.
“What?” He didn’t stop walking.
You could feel eyes on you as Tai hugged you close.
“We’ve only been here for a few hours; the party isn’t over yet.”
Tai frowned and stepped in front of you, crossing his arms over his chest.
“(Y/N), you’re tired, and I’m starving. We don’t owe it to anyone to stay any longer. We’re allowed to leave.”
You knew that. But it didn’t give you enough time to gather and push down your feelings. Which were getting dangerously close to the surface as Tai stared at you, waiting for you to answer. You sighed, and he grinned.
“I know. Okay. Let’s go.”
You glanced back at the party-goers as you left, making eye contact with a reporter you recognized that loved to ask the more inappropriate questions. Have you two ever kissed? Have you ever had romantic thoughts about each other? Have you slept together? And Tai, the frustrating gentleman than he was, always answered the questions the same way. If we have, you would be the last to know. He never got mad at them. Most likely due to his determination to always maintain his cheery hero persona--one that seemed to just be him--but he always remained civil. Although there was one exception.
It was a few weeks back when the two of you had decided to patrol his neighborhood together. A slow day led to a reporter tracking you down and getting the scoop. Crime rates, All Might information, updates about Fat Gum’s agency. And then his eyes fell on you, and the questions started to dive into the territory they always did. How long have you two been friends again? Do you have a significant other? What are your thoughts on the costume restrictions heroes have? But then he did what most reporters did: dared a question he really should’ve kept to himself.
We’ve seen the way the two of you look at each other. There’s no way you two haven’t been...intimate. C’mon, give us the scoop. Is he as big as the rumor mill says?
Tai had his hand in the same spot he always did when he got that, as the media labeled it, protective aura about him. It twitched against your back before he leaned in, his smile dropping to a very clearly unamused line.
“I’m standing right here. Why don’t you ask me?” His brows pinched, and his hand closed around the back of your shirt. “Would you ask All Might and Endeavor the same question?”
That made the reporter break down to incomplete sentences, half apologies, and a half-hearted goodbye. Tai never commented on it after the fact, his smile slowly returning as you continued on your patrol route, hand staying on your back for the next few blocks before he needed a candy boost. Then it returned to his side as if nothing had happened. But that stayed with you. It’s what you thought of as you tried to ignore the weight of the reporter’s gaze on your back as you left.
Outside, the fall air whipped around you, and you wished you’d worn more than the bubble gum dispenser costume. Tight white shirt covered in poofy balls, a glittery red short skirt, knee-high white socks, and red heels to match the skirt. A small piece of painted cardboard read 25¢ was pinned to your skirt. It’d been Tai’s idea when you couldn’t come up with anything for the party. Well, he’d said candy dispenser, but you decided bubblegum faired better.
A cab pulled up within seconds of you stepping outside, and you eyed the BMI Hero. When the hell had he called that? You’d been with him nearly the entire night, and you’d never seen him use his phone.
You blushed as he held the door open for you. More so when he slid in next to you and his thigh pressed firm against yours. He gave the driver his address, and the cab took off. You prayed no one had seen the two of you climb in together. It was purely platonic. You knew that. But your anxiety? Your wandering thoughts? They didn’t. They made you hyperaware of his hand that had fallen next to yours, resting on the line between your thigh and his. His fingers nudged yours as the car went over a manhole cover.
You would’ve pulled away had you not loved the jolt of electricity each touch shot through you. Even if each one left you with the gut-twisting reminder that the two of you were never that. Never anything more than friends. Tai had made that clear, and you had as well; it was near impossible not to when interacting with the press. You glanced up at the hero as he lazily watched the passing building, eyes out the window without a car in the world--except maybe his growling stomach.
His smile was soft, features illuminated by the multicolored city lights. Blond hair that bounced with the car’s movement, barely contained under the tiny green costume cap. His eyes were lit with curiosity while maintaining his usual heroic level of observation. You knew without a shadow of a doubt, if someone was in danger, he’d be out of the cab before you could even tell the driver to pull over. Because he was good. All heroes, to some extent, were good. But Tai was good. So fucking good. You wanted him to lean over, cup your cheeks with his hands, and kiss you until the rest of the world washed away.
It made tears sting your eyes as a sharp pain found itself in your chest.
You forced yourself to look away and sniffled as quietly as you could manage.
This was getting out of hand.
A gentle tap on your leg made you turn towards Tai. Those alight eyes were on you now. A tiny crease between his brow as his mouth fell into a concerned line. He lifted a hand and you froze, biting your cheek to stop the gasp from leaving you when he brushed a strand of hair from your face.
“You alright?”
No, you really, really weren’t.
“Yeah, sorry. Just yawned extra hard.” You hated lying to him. But you couldn’t exactly tell him the truth. “Made my nose a little runny.”
You tried a laugh, it came out awkward, but Tai smiled. So it worked well enough.
“You’re right off to bed then when we get home.”
You nodded and tore your gaze from his. It hurt too much otherwise. It was going to be agony sleeping at his place. And as soon as you got there--Tai far more nonchalant about exiting the cab and walking into the apartment complex than you--you knew you should’ve gone back to your place. The long train ride would’ve been worth it compared to the ache that shook your bones when you entered his comfy, warm apartment.
“If you’d like to shower, you’re more than welcome to. You can take my bed, I’ll take the couch. But, if you’re anywhere near as hungry as me, I’m going to whip up some snacks before turning in.” He grinned, pulling his hat off and tossing it on the kitchen counter.
“I-I’ll shower if that’s alright.”
It was both the deadliest and the safest option. Get away from Tai, wash away the tears that wanted to stain your cheeks, and get out of the costume that felt way too skimpy. But then you were in Tai’s shower. Not a guest shower. His. You stood under the warm water for about thirty seconds, eyes dancing around the bottles of soaps, clean washrag, razor, fluffy towels just on the outskirt of the shower, before you turned the temperature down.
You were going to need an ice bath to drown away the thoughts that were creeping in. You, stupidly, leaned against the shower wall. An image of Tai pinning you there, rolling his hips, grinding his thick, wide, throbbing-
“(Y/N)?” There was a gentle knock on the door. You jerked yourself underneath the icy water. “I grabbed some clothes for you to wear if you’d like. I’ll set them outside the door.”
“T-Thank you.”
You weren’t in the shower much longer after that.
Thankfully, Tai wasn’t anywhere near the door when you cracked it open and grabbed the clothes he had out for you. A stretchy black shirt and a pair of boxers made of the same material. You felt weird going without underwear or a bra, but you weren’t exactly fond of the idea of putting them back on. Hesitantly, you wrapped up your clothes and exited the bathroom. You sat them on his dresser, unsure where else to put them.
The entire apartment smelled like freshly baked cookies.
Instantly, your mouth watered.
“I have ice cream, fruit, some celery, and I made some cookies.” Tai held up a platter of chocolate chip cookies as his eyes fell on you.
“Uh, ice cream, I guess.” You walked nervously across his living room, aware of his gaze fixed on you all the way until you were by his side in the kitchen.
“Ice cream it is.” He cleared his throat before trading the cookie tray for a bowl.
Boy, did he have ice cream. His freezer was stocked with every flavor you could’ve imagined. And he had more than an assortment of toppings for you to use. He munched on a cookie as you scooped yourself a bowl of pecan caramel swirl, added a drizzle of chocolate sauce--Tai’s recommendation--and a dollop of whipped cream. You stood beside him, elbows against the kitchen counter, as you took tiny bites of the dessert.
He stood silently next to you, only on his second cookie, back against the counter. His shirt was growing see-through as it struggled to fit, and he glanced down at it. You smiled as he cursed under his breath and tugged the hem down, as if that were going to do anything. You were halfway through your bowl when he suddenly broke the silence.
“What were you crying about in the cab earlier?”
You nearly choked on your bite and had to take a moment to collect yourself.
“I- what?” You sat the spoon down. “I wasn’t crying.”
Tai frowned.
“If you’re worried about what the news is going to spin about us leaving together, I wouldn’t worry; all Might and Endeavor are scheduled to make appearances at the latter half of the party. That’s what all the talk will be about.”
“No, I don’t care about that.” You opened and closed your mouth. You’d been given an out, and your dumbass had spoken before you could stop yourself. “I mean, I do care. I don’t want them writing about something that isn’t their business.”
“So then what was it?” His voice was so soft, so delicate. “Did I do something? If I made you feel like you had to come here, if I pressured you at all, that wasn’t-”
“No, Tai, no. You didn’t do anything.”
Which was the truth. He hadn’t. You’d wanted him to kiss you, but that was your own fantasy creeping out. That wasn’t on him. It never would be.
You, mistakingly, lowered your gaze to his mouth where he frowned. And it lingered. You wanted him to kiss you. More than anything in the world. But he never would.
That sharp pain was back.
You stared down at your melting ice cream for a beat. Tears were beginning to well up, and you begged for them to disperse. This wasn’t your first time in Tai’s apartment, but it would be your first night. And you didn’t want to taint that, or the delicious scent of cookies, because of some stupid school-girl crush you had on him. Or throw away the almost year and a half of your friendship.
But a question was nagging at the back of your mind.
“Do you care?” You shifted your weight from foot to foot, eyes still on your ice cream. “You know, you never seem to really care what the media says about us- you. What they say about you.”
“Yes.” There was no hesitation in his response. It made the pain more acute. Your friendship was the whole reason the media wrote about you.
“Maybe we shouldn’t hang out as often then.” The words left you before you could even process the sentiment in your mind.
For the first time--outside of combat--you noticed Tai’s expression switch to concern.
“What?” He almost looked offended, but you couldn’t tell. Sometimes he was a hard man to read.
“Well, they write about you cause we hang out so often. If we stopped, then they’d probably stop-”
“I don’t give a shit what they write about me.” He reached out, hand on your shoulder, and turned you so you were facing him. “I care about the fact that they always drag you into it.”
His hands balled into tight fists.
“I wanted to rip that reporter a new one a few weeks ago when he…” Tai let out a harsh breath. “That asshole.”
Another question, one the reporters have asked before, slid from you as you stared at the hero. You already knew his answer; he gave the same one every time. But still, you had to ask.
“Why are you so protective of me?” There was no malice in your voice. You never minded the behavior. In fact, it only complicated your feelings towards him.
Tai went quiet, and his expression morphed into something unreadable. You waited for his diplomatic and well-practiced response. She’s like a little sister to me. It was the answer he always gave the press back when you first became friends. But they stopped running with that after the third time he gave it. He stopped using it after month seven when they were firmly on the Does Fat Gum Have a Girlfriend? bit. Then it became cause it’s (Y/N); she’s one of my closest friends.
Finally, he spoke.
“I can’t tell you.” His jaw tensed.
You blinked at him. “What?”
He sat the third cookie he had picked up down on the tray and turned his back to you.
“You’re one of my closest friends, (Y/N); I’m not going to ruin that.”
You reached out and grabbed his sleeve. What the hell was his answer that he couldn’t tell you? And how bad was it that he thought it would ruin your friendship over? Did he think you were weak? That you couldn’t take care of yourself? Maybe he thought you were a charity case. That he’d boost his popularity if he hung out with a lower hero like yourself. The people would praise him, and it’d boost him up a few slots.
“Hey, Tai, talk to me. What’s going on?”
He stopped and peered over his shoulder.
“Tell me why you were crying in the cab.”
It was a staring contest. His yellow eyes seemed richer in his kitchen, and they searched yours like they were looking for buried treasure. All you had to do was lie. Just tell him you were thinking about some bullshit thing. That you were happy to have him as a friend. That you were grateful that he was letting you stay with him because you really hadn’t wanted to take the train home. Hell, you could’ve just said you had to sneeze, and it went away, and were too embarrassed to say anything. You could’ve fucking said anything, and it would’ve been better than what you did. Because all of that wouldn’t have been friendship-altering. It would’ve let you keep going, pretending everything was totally normal between you and him. That you weren’t completely infatuated with him. That you didn’t think about the way he would grin at you from across the room when you ran into each other at meetings with the police. Or how he’d bring special candy for you when you’d patrol together.
But you had to open your mouth. You had to respond. And the only thing that left it was the truth.
“Because I wanted you to kiss me.”
You wished your quirk allowed you to burst into flames. To just instantly combust. You would’ve preferred that to the silence that followed. It felt heavy. Uncomfortable. Your every nerve was on fire, anxiety boiled in your gut, you wanted to turn and run. You’d just thrown your entire friendship away because you couldn’t lie to the hero. You couldn’t keep your feelings to yourself.
“I’m sorry. Forget I said anything. I’m going to go change back into my clothes and catch the next train-”
“Are you lying to me?”
You opened your mouth to speak, but Tai continued. He turned towards you, eyes wide.
“Are you at all lying to me about wanting to kiss me?”
The pain in your chest doubled, and you swallowed hard.
“No,” you squeaked out.
“Oh, thank god.”
You registered Tai’s hands on your cheeks before anything else. They were soft, gentle yet demanding. Then came his body. Hard and warm and all-consuming against you. After that was the way his hair tickled your forehead. How your back arched and your fingers dug into his green shirt. Only then did you feel his mouth on yours. Same as his hands: soft, gentle, demanding.
Determined too. But you were all too awestruck to recognize that one. Because Tai was kissing you. You were standing in his kitchen, in his clothes, while he kissed you. You would’ve stepped back in awe had you not feared it would’ve broken the kiss. So you didn’t. You stayed right in his arms, deepening the kiss, sighing as his tongue swiped across your bottom lip. Tongues touched--only briefly--and you gasped.
Tai broke the kiss there. His forehead fell against yours.
“I’ve been wanting to do that since the day we met.”
He huffed, and you licked your lips. They tasted like cookies and ice cream. Chocolate and pecan. Like all the dreams you’d had of him all combined into one. It was...perfect. He was perfect. Your mind came to a standstill.
“What?”
Tai smiled gently, his laugh just as soft as his grin. “Do I need to kiss you again? Because I’m okay making that sacrifice for you to get it.”
“No- I mean yes.” You held on tight to his costume. “I want you to kiss me again. Badly. I’m just...confused.”
Tai pinched your chin, and amusement clouded his features.
“Confused about what?” He cocked his head to the side.
“I just don’t understand why you...you know….”
“Kissed you?”
You opened and closed your mouth a few times.
I’ve been wanting to do that since the day we met.
There was a lot to unpack there. There was a lot you wanted him to share. To disclose. You wanted a monologue on what that meant. Every last detail. Every last thought he had about you. Because he’d kissed you. Kissed you.
Suddenly, a faint pink dusted over Tai’s cheeks, and he backed away. He rubbed his hand on the back of his head, and his gaze fell to the floor. You’d seen Tai be bashful during interviews when asked about his heroics. But never in this context. Never in regards to you.
“I like you,” he whispered. “Much more than a friend.”
He stepped back, very clearly an act to put space between you. The blush staining his cheeks deepened, and he laughed. It was all nerves, and a strange sense of relief washed over you. You weren’t the only one who felt like their heart was going to burst from their chest. Or that you were practically floating on air as Tai’s kiss lingered on your lips.
Your brows pinched upwards, and you bit your lip.
“It’s…” He laughed dryly. “It’s been agony keeping that to myself. Like dancing with you tonight was a sweet torture.”
He sucked in a sharp breath, mouth gaping open ever so slightly.
“Or seeing you in my clothes.”
You hugged yourself, feeling your cheeks heat. Processing what Tai was saying made for a strange feat. You couldn’t quite believe it. He liked you. He really liked you. And he’d liked you since...so during your entire friendship…
An onslaught of different memories slammed into you at once. When he rested his hand on the small of your back, touch gentle and tender. How he’d lean close when you’d talk or always sit beside you during meetings. When you watched movies together, it didn’t matter what form he was in or what location you’d found yourself at--theater or couch--he always had a part of him touching you. Thigh against thigh, elbow against elbow, hands grazing hands. How he’d held you close while dancing, hands dancing the line between friendly and testing. You’d never thought anything of it because you’d never wanted to hope.
Tai muttered your name, and it was only then that you realized you hadn’t said anything.
You’d left him standing there in silence, stewing in whatever emotions were swirling about him.
“This whole time?” You scoffed. “This whole time?”
“Yeah, this whole time. I wanted to ask you out, but...then we got cornered by that reporter, and they asked if we were a couple, and we both denied it. So, I figured the feelings weren’t reciprocated.”
You knew exactly what time he was talking about. It’d been two weeks after you two had first met--your agencies had decided to team up as a way to boost morale in the local areas, so you’d had a meeting with Tai and his sidekicks, sparking your friendship. You were patrolling, the typical activity that brought extra gazes and whispers, cheers and claps, cameras, and waiting pens. Tai had asked if you’d join him, letting your sidekicks go off down the side streets while the two of you wandered down the main roads.
There was idle conversation, the usual get-to-know-you questions where you scratched only the surface level and attempted to make each other laugh and smile. You were heroes, after all, you had to look the part. And as your heart beat a little faster and your cheeks burned a little hotter, you did your best to make a good first impression. One that, when a local reporter spotted the two of you, had her diving into your newfound friendship with the hero--as well as a few other things.
You two seem to really be hitting it off.
Are you going to patrol together like this in the future?
It’s so hard for heroes to have free time, so it’s always good to see you having fun together while still keeping the streets safe.
You’ve been spending a lot of time together the past couple of days. Perhaps there’s something more there than two heroes doing their due diligence?
Tai had raised his hands and you spoke at the same time.
“No, no, we’re just friends.”
“Oh, no, Fat and I are just friends.”
But what else were you supposed to say? Yeah, I have a crush on the hero next to me, and I want to potentially ruin our budding friendship over something that could be nothing? You were heroes. You weren’t allowed that leniency. And you certainly weren’t allowed to express that to the media. That’d be a shitstorm.
But he’d...all that time you could’ve been together.
“They were reciprocated.” You tugged at the bottom of your--aka Tai’s--shirt. “They were very much reciprocated.”
Tai matched your nervous idleness and poked at a cookie.
“So, what now?”
The ultimate question. You’d kissed, you’d confessed; there was no going back from that. Forward was the only option, except forward was a road of bumps and potholes and uneven tar. You could try and pretend the last few minutes hadn’t happened. But, as you took in his concerned, impatient expression, lips capturing his bottom lip, anxious and embarrassed blush, you knew you couldn’t put the night behind you. There was definitely no going back to normal.
But you didn’t want to go back to normal.
Not in the slightest.
You took a careful breath and eyed the hero. Now wasn’t the time for hesitancy. Now wasn’t the time for the same cowardice you’d felt for the past year. Year. Over a year of pent-up, frustrated, unresolved feelings. No. Now was the time to press the gas, floor it down the highway, and let the airbags cushion however this crashed and burned.
Now was the time for bravery.
“Now I think it’s time for bed, don’t you?”
You clenched your jaw, willing Tai to understand the innuendo. Bravery or not, you weren’t sure if you could say the actual words. Not to his face. Not when he was standing there looking at you so bashfully, body covered in a material so thin and so tight that it was practically begging to be ripped off. You wanted to kiss him again. Every damn inch.
Tai didn’t seem to be breathing, mirroring your own dilemma as you stood there. So you turned and took a few steps towards his bedroom.
“Aren’t you coming?”
It took a second for the words to sink in, to process in Tai’s mind. But as soon as they did, he was after you. You were all but three steps closer to his room when you heard the pads of his feet against the wooden floor, and suddenly you were swept off your feet. You yelped as Tai threw you over his shoulder, arm around your waist to hold you still. Any squirming went ignored and, just as suddenly as you’d been picked up, Tai was dropping you onto his bed.
“Oh, I certainly am.” He pressed his mouth to yours, hands clutching your waist as if that were the only spot they were allowed to go as he climbed atop you. “But you most certainly are.”
Oh. A wave of something washed over you. Embarrassment? Excitement? You gasped as Tai’s body seemed to morph perfectly with yours. He pressed you into the bed, fingers surely to leave bruises, knees nudging yours apart just enough so he could fit between them. It was like something out of a fantasy. He felt phenomenal against you. You never wanted it to end. But--fuck--you needed him to do something besides kiss you. You needed more than the teasing swipe of his tongue against your lips. Of the hands that wouldn’t budge. Of the fact that even though he seemed to have nearly every inch of himself against you, his hips hovered above yours. A knee kept him propped, preventing a rather alluring part of him from touching you.
Desperately, you tugged on his shirt, and he obliged, tentatively. Realization dawned on you as he shifted back onto his knees. He was taking it slow. Wherever the night was leading, he wanted to take his time getting there. That pain from earlier twinged in your chest at the fear of this being a one-night-only event. Tai didn’t seem like a one-night-stand type of guy, but this was a wholly unique scenario. Expectations were up in the air just like his arms were and-
Rational thoughts were gone as soon as Tai’s shirt was stripped from him.
His smirk was a mixture of shyness and smugness. He sat still as your eyes scanned his naked torso. His abs flexed when you lingered there, and you quickly continued, which was a fool’s errand. That brought you below the belt. That reminded you of why tights were called tight...and why so many people were interested in knowing what Tai looked like naked. He stood over eight feet tall when he was in his usual form, and that made people curious.
And you were looking right at that curiosity.
Hard, long, and thick, trapped in what looked like an uncomfortable green prison. Subconsciously, you reached forward, but a hand on your wrist stopped you. You met Tai’s yellow eyes, and he gave you a sympathetic smile.
“Not tonight.” He lowered himself back down and finally let his hips press against yours. He was massive. “It’ll take some working up to.”
He rolled his hips and ground against you in all the right places. You whined in pleasure and in protest, but that only made Tai chuckle.
“Don’t worry, I’m going to stretch you good tonight.” He kissed along your jaw sloppily. “I’ve been dreaming about all the things I’d love to do with you. I plan on making those happen.”
He sunk his teeth into your neck with a harsh sting before pulling away. He huffed, face red and chest expanded.
“If that’s alright with you.” He searched your gaze. “If you want to stop-”
“No, for fuck’s sake, no. Please. I do not. I very much do not.”
Tai chuckled, nodded, and slid a hand beneath your shirt. He took his sweet time lifting it, making sure to leave kisses up your stomach in his wake. Your skin tingled and burned under his touch until cold air rushed against your chest, and you glanced down. Tai hovered over your chest, tongue darting out to wet his lips, eyes locked on yours with the look of pure bliss. Like he’d laid eyes upon an angel or a god, and no you. He groaned, full-body shaking, before he leaned down and gave one of your embarrassingly hard nipples the lightest kiss.
Then another. And another.
Instantaneously, it seemed, you were moaning his name. So that’s where he stayed, listening to his name on your lips as your back arched and you tried to push yourself further against him. A hand found its way beside his mouth, and as he licked and sucked and kissed and the fingers pinched and twisted, nudging and circling. He treated them with the same delicacy one might that bundle of nerves that was between your legs, and it made your body tremble. It was like you were a present entrapped with ribbons and bows, and he was untying them with each delicate swipe of his fingers and tongue.
“Please,” you whined, and Tai dragged his teeth over one nipple, causing you to suck in a breath through your teeth. You rolled your hips against him, earning a muttered curse before that sweet smile was back.
“Forgive me,” he said as he started to kiss lower and lower, retracing his earlier steps, “if I want to savor what I’ve been wanting for so long.”
He stopped, shoulders between your legs, fingers curling into the waistband of the boxers you wore. He waited, and when you lifted your hips, he slid them down. The quiet fuck he let out as his eyes shot to your cunt made you shiver. Apparently, he hadn’t expected you to be without underwear, and you were thankful for that decision.
His hands slid up your thighs as he practically folded you, pressing your knees to your stomach, his hands in a vice grip underneath your knees, and your face burned as he pinned you in place. An easy feat for him. His blond hair tickled your skin as he hovered over your cunt, breath quick to follow. It was shallow, warm. Then a hand left your leg, and his fingers danced over your cunt. Once, twice, three times before he spread your folds and sighed. Hard and heavy. You could feel how wet you were, and you knew you were giving Tai a show as you squirmed beneath his gaze.
Then his thumb swiped over your clit, and your entire body jolted. Again. Again. And again. Slow circles that made you press your head back against the mattress, clamp your eyes shut, ignore the feeling of gushing that was building between your legs.
“Please,” he said, voice strained as his thumb moved a bit faster. “I’ve been craving you for so long. Please, let me feast.”
That ripped through you, head to toe, and all you could do was moan, squirm, and nod your head.
And then Tai’s mouth replaced his thumb, and you thought you were going to combust. He kept your legs pinned to you, hips pressed firmly into the bed, folds spread as he kept true to his word: he feasted. It reminded you of the time you’d gotten ice cream on a particularly hot patrolling meet-up. Fat had his hood-off, his quirk half-used, and he was craving the dessert. So, you’d stopped and gotten two cones. It wasn’t the first time you’d seen him eat ice cream, but most of the time, it was in his full hero form, so he would just practically inhale the damn thing.
This time he savored it. Each lick and swirl of his tongue, every nibble on the cone, even the quick darts of cleaning the corners of his mouth. It made the butterflies in your stomach swarm south. You had to sit with your legs crossed tight just to satiate the pressure even the slightest bit.
And that’s what it felt like here. Like you were the damn cone of ice cream that he was devouring. Savoring. Trying to get every ounce before it dripped off the cone.
You cried out his name as his teeth grazed your clit, and he chuckled, the vibrations rocking your body to its core. And then his tongue dipped lower. It prodded at your entrance teasingly. Tai laughed again, and you fought the grip he held on your legs. He felt so good, so damn good. It was a thousand times better than you’d ever imagined Than you’d ever had from past significant others.
He switched again, mouth returning to your clit, tongue pressing flat against the bundle of nerves, as his fingers circled your entrance. Your eyes widened. You’d admired Tai’s fingers a multitude of times. They weren’t piano fingers. They were thick, huge, and practically deadly fingers. And they felt just as much when he pushed the first one into you. He didn’t wait to curl it, searching for your sweet spot slowly but surely, memorizing each sound the movements pulled from you.
You were stretching around his finger, a tightening building in your stomach that you knew was fast approaching. You tried to say something to the hero, but the burn that accompanied a second finger pushing into you silenced you. A moan took the place of the words as he scissored his fingers, wiggled them playfully. His pace slowed, though, and his fingers pumped a lazy pace that matched his tongue. Slow licks like you were the damn ice cream cone and just as slow pumps where his fingers hit your sweet spot the same agonizingly wonderful way each time.
You wanted to kick your feet out, but Tai kept you in place. It was near irritating how good it felt because he seemed to know exactly what he was doing. He wasn’t trying to rush your high, or chase it down like desperate lovers might during their first rendezvous. He wanted you to feel it in every nerve ending; to make your toes curl, your eyes clamp shut, body tremble like a damn earthquake before you were even near the edge. You were slicked with sweat beneath him, the sounds of his fingers and mouth lapping at you sloppy in the room. It was unbearable. You squeezed his fingers and clawed at the blankets beneath you. It felt so fucking good.
Abruptly, as tears slid down your cheeks, you came.
Tai’s pace remained all the same as you bucked your hips and moaned so raw you were surprised the next breath hadn’t hurt. You felt it in every inch of your body. It was like a searing, delicious, all-consuming liquid ecstasy. You never wanted it to end. And Tai was damn well going to drag it on for as long as he could, staying between your legs until the pleasure turned sharp and your hands found their way into his hair, yanking up until your eyes met.
Wetness dripped from his chin as he brought his fingers to a stop. He gave you a crooked grin and licked his swollen lips. His fingers left you with a soft squelch. He made a show out of bringing them to his mouth and licking them clean.
“Tai,” you murmured. There was a plea in your voice that you knew he understood. You wanted more. You wanted him.
“(Y/N),” he responded. He said your name perfectly. It made you melt into the bed. He crawled up your body, gently lowering your legs until you caged him in. He rolled his hips, letting you feel every long and hard inch of him. “You can beg for it all you want tonight, but you won’t be able to take me.”
You whimpered as he grazed your clit. You knew he was right, but all logical senses were clouded. There was no stopping the second please the slipped from you. He chuckled softly, mouth dropping by your ear.
“Who would’ve thought you’d be just as needy for my cock as the reporters?” He snaked a hand between you and thumbed the waistband of his tights.
He shed himself of the tights with more ease than you were expecting given your position. But that could’ve also been due to a lack of brain function as it seemed to completely stall at the sight of Tai. Yeah, there was no way the two of you were fucking. He was huge. His bashfulness was back as you sat up, eyeing his cock unapologetically.
You reached out and traced a thick vein with your finger. Tai nearly doubled over, a hand coming to rest on your shoulder for support as he stuttered out your name. Still blissed out, you didn’t think before fisting him, dragging your hand along his shafts with lazy pumps. His hand on your shoulder dug into your skin, and you drew your thumb along his slit, relishing in the way his entire body tensed.
Unlike how Tai had with you, there was no self-control or restraint when it came to him. You abandoned the languid movements as soon as Tai moaned your name, driven by each little react he gave you. You may not have been able to fuck, but you were damn well going to get off with him. The sight of him squirming beneath your touch...well...you could understand why his eyes were glued to you when he was devouring you.
As you went to drop a hand between your legs, Tai reached out and stopped you.
His arm was around your waist, and the room spun as he flipped you. You gasped as Tai rightened you on his lap. He was beneath you, where you’d once been laying on his bed, hands on your waist as he guided you down to your knees. He pressed his head back as you instinctively adjusted yourself, accidentally dragging your cunt along his erection.
“That,” he moaned. “Keep doing that.”
He shifted until a hand rested on your lower stomach and his thumb found your swollen clit. You rolled your hips, twitching slightly as he swiped his thumb over your clit with precise stroke.
“And I’ll keep doing that.” He watched you as you nodded. “That’s it, that’s my girl.”
So you did. You followed his instruction, dragging yourself along his cock, his thumb working you closer and closer to your second high. But you didn’t want to cum before him, and your hips were growing sloppier with each swipe of his damn thumb. You tried to say his name as a warning, but he only picked up his pace, his heels digging into the bed as he pressed his cock harder against you. The image of him doing the same, but with his cock slamming inside you, hitting all the right places, hard and throbbing like it was now, it pushed you over the edge.
You practically sobbed his name as you came, and Tai’s hand on your waist was the only thing that kept you upright as you tensed. Through the high of it, as you clenched your jaw and dragged your nails down his chest, his cock twitched, and he kicked the mattress as he lifted himself off the bed. You forced your eyes open as he came, white spurting across his stomach, eyes shut tight, teeth in his bottom lip so hard you thought he was going to draw blood. His hair was plastered to his forehead, sweat slicked his skin just like it did yours, and every muscle in his body was flexed.
When he finally relaxed his grip, you fell beside him on the bed, his arm beneath you. Minutes passed as you caught your breath. Tai was the one to break the silence.
“Tomorrow night.” He rolled over so he could face you. “After patrolling, there’s a showing of My Neighbor Totoro at nine. Please let me take you out on a real date.”
You swallowed the knot in your throat.
“What if we get asked about it? Or if someone saw us go home together tonight?”
“Then I get to tell them to piss off and stop bothering us because I finally get to take my crush out on a date.”
Your cheeks heated, and you brought your mouth to his in a gentle kiss. He smiled.
“If you’re okay with me saying that, of course, I don’t want to-”
“Yes, I am, I very much am.”
Tai’s smile deepened, and you matched it. All felt right in his arms, all felt right when you kissed him. It was perfect. He was perfect. He-
A low rumbling filled the room, and a dark red covered Tai’s cheeks.
He was starving.
“Alright, let’s get you cleaned up,” you whispered. “And then finish the cookies you made.”
He grinned.
“Yes, ma’am.”

Warnings: none - just pure fluff
The forest is peaceful today, not that it isn't usually peaceful in your little part of the woods. But today feels…different somehow.
It’s just like any other day you’ve had since you settled down in your cottage in the middle of nowhere, desperate to get away from the cities and towns and the bustle of people. You tended your garden earlier in the morning to avoid the worst of the day's heat, and now you’re checking your hunting traps, this trip already proving more fruitful than the ones in recent days.
You’re working on checking your fourth and last trap, a large rabbit caught in your snare when you hear the faint shuffling of leaves, followed by the snapping of twigs. You stand upright, rabbit in your hand as you turn in a circle, eyes trying to find the source of the sound.
You’re not an expert on the natural world just yet, but whatever is approaching sounds larger than you're ready to deal with. You quickly tuck the small animal into your pack, muttering a quick prayer for its soul before moving to go back the way you came. You’re just coming out of the small clearing when you come face to face with the largest cave bear you’ve ever seen.
It’s massive. It’s head nearly level with your own as you both freeze in your tracks. Fear courses through you, making your heart pound as blood rushes in your ears. Any and all advice on what to do when encountering a bear has left your mind frustratingly blank, only allowing you to watch the creature in wide eyed terror as you opt to stay completely still.
It doesn’t attack you immediately which you take as a good sign, but it does raise its head slightly, nose twitching as it sniffs and huffs at the air before lowering it’s head and taking a few steps towards you. You want to take a step back as it moves closer, but you find yourself rooted to the spot as the bear approaches you, nose sniffing curiously at the bag slung over your shoulder.
Your hunting bag.
“Oh…” you let out a shaky sigh, as you pull the bag off and set it on the ground slowly, revealing the contents of it to the bear. If this is what it’s after, maybe you can slip away as it eats your kills.
“It’s rabbit…a few good juicy ones,” you say, finding yourself calming ever so slightly as you speak to the bear.
He continues to sniff at the bag before letting out a disinterested huff, nosing it back towards you.
Is he…letting you have it back?
Cautiously you reach down to pick up the bag once again, slinging it over your shoulder when the bear makes no sudden moves.
“Thank you…” you trail off, feeling silly for thanking a bear who can’t understand you.
Before you can question the odd situation you find yourself in, it gets even more odd. The bear approaches you again, but this time he presses his nose into the crook of your neck, his wet nose cold against your skin and causing you to shriek as you scramble away - both from surprise and fear.
He doesn’t chase after you like you thought he would, instead the bear lets out a small huff and tilts his head to the side, as if considering you. You decide to take that moment to make your retreat, before he can consider you long enough to make you his lunch.
You back away from the creature slowly, planning to just keep going until you're out of sight. But before you can get very far the creature lets out another chuff and turns away from you to head deeper into the forest. You stop as you watch him disappear into the foliage, and can’t help the curiosity that courses through you.
What an odd bear.
─────── ·𖥸· ───────
If you’d thought that would be the only encounter with the unusually docile bear, you were wrong. It seemed like almost any time you left the immediate area around your small cottage you would stumble upon the bear.
At first you were still hesitant. Still very aware that this is a wild animal very capable of killing you. But as days turned into week, and weeks turned into months…the large bear became a pleasant constant in your life. Pretty much your only friend out in this isolated part of the woods.
You’re thick as thieves, the two of you. He’d always be near when you were preparing your kills, happily eating whatever you discarded. But you noticed he had a certain fondness for the fruits in your garden and the honey from your hives rather than the meat you prepared, so you’d started to grow a little extra just for him.
You’ve started to notice he’s present in your days more often than not, lumbering beside you wherever you go and staying near if you stop. He also loves to be pet - something you find quite endearing. The day he practically rolled over when you scratched behind his ears was the day you hoped he’d never go far.
And he’s a very good listener. Even if he’s not much of a conversationalist - you can’t seem to shake the odd feeling that he understands you. You don’t ever feel like you have much to say, but your occasional trips to nearby villages offer some conversation and it’s like your bear companion would huff or growl or chortle at all the right moments. He rumbles in agreement if you ask him questions or growls if he seems upset…
In fact…the longer you spend around the unusual creature the more… human he starts to seem.
You shake your head at the thought as you weed your garden. You know it’s not possible, but the entire thing is just so out of the ordinary you suppose your mind can’t help but try to find explanations for it.
You tug at a particularly tough weed, pulling hard enough that when it comes free from the ground you fall back onto your hands.
“The weeds are particularly nasty this time of year.”
A surprised shout falls from your lips as you whip around to the source of the voice, stumbling quickly to your feet at the same moment.
You’re not used to visitors this far from the nearby towns, and you're certainly not used to large handsome eleven men looking at you from the other side of your fenced in garden.
The man holds his hands up placatingly, lips tilted up ever so slightly in a small smile.
“I’m sorry, I did not mean to frighten you.”
You can’t stop the scoff you let you, hand clutching at the fabric over your chest.
“Well, you certainly have an odd way of showing it,” you chastise lightly, still wary of the stranger.
He bows his head in apology, one hand coming up to rest over his heart. “My apologies again. I tried knocking on your door but no one answered…”
“So you came to snoop around in my backyard?” You ask, brows raised as your arms cross over your chest.
The man lets out a small laugh, and you try to ignore the fluttering feeling it produces in your belly.
“It would seem that way, yes,” he says, voice light. “But in truth I only wanted to introduce myself. My name is Halsin, I’m an archdruid in the grove just down the road from the abandoned village.”
An image flashes in your mind, of a wooden door partially hidden by foliage. You passed it when you would travel to a town several hours away. You’d once tried to investigate the area only to be warned off by a few druids at the top of the wall.
You’d made a point to stay away since then.
You shift on your feet slightly, a sudden anxiety flaring up in your chest at the presence of someone like an archdruid seeking you out. Are you on their land somehow? Have they come to run you off after you’ve just started to build a life for yourself here?
Halsin must notice your shift in demeanor, as he holds his hands out towards you in a calm manner.
“I did not come to disturb you,” he promises. “Only to open the gates of the grove to you. It has been many years since people other than ourselves have made this land home.”
You finally take a few tentative steps forward. Hands falling to your sides. “I didn’t get a very warm welcome when I stumbled upon your… grove, the first time.”
Halsin’s lips fall slightly at that. “Yes, some of the others are more wary of outsiders,” he admits. “But nature connects all living creatures. I only came to make the offer in an effort to ease your time here. The grove is much closer than the nearest town, and we most likely have what you need if you’d ever like to trade.”
You’re stunned slightly by his offer. It takes you almost an entire day to get to the closet trading town. The grove he speaks of is much closer, less than an hour's walk from your home. You'd be a fool to turn down the offer. So, with a small nod of your head you accept.
“That would be…wonderful,” you admit, noticing the smile returning to the Druid's lips. “Thank you.”
“The pleasure is mine,” Halsin says, his eyes turning to the sky. “I must be going. If you wish to enter the grove just tell them I paid you a visit and offered you sanctuary, they will let you pass.”
You nod once again, and Halsin turns wishing you farewell, your name falling sweetly from his lips.
It’s only when he’s out of sight do you realize you never gave him your name.

The next few weeks pass in a surprisingly blissful and giddy blur.
You took Halsin up on his offer to visit the grove, and true to his word you were let in without much fuss, the arch druid himself waiting when you entered. He introduced you to one of the druids who was the main trading hub in the grove as well as the healer Nettie in case you ever needed anything in that regard.
You had expected the tour to stop there as he left you to your devices, but he continued to show you the grove, his home and his favorite things about it.
You visited often after that, always under the guise of visiting to trade or buy but secretly using the trips as an excuse to see Halsin. The man has grown on you, and more often than not, you find your thoughts drifting to him as butterflies erupt in your chest.
With each encounter you think you find him returning your small flirtations. A teasing comment here, a hand on your back there.
On your most recent trip to the grove, Halsin had shown you a secret little alcove tucked away from the more busy parts of the small colony. It overlooked the river and you could tell Halsin spent much time here by the small bedroll tucked neatly against a large rock and the small pouches of provisions.
You’d both snacked on dried meat and fresh fruit as he told you stories from his youth, laughter ringing out in the small clearing at the more mischievous adventures he’d had.
You’d just popped an apple slice drizzled in honey into your mouth when Halsin turned to look at you, eyes dipping down to your lips.
You’d paused, chewing the bite quickly before swallowing. “What? Have I got something on my face?” You ask, brows furrowed.
Halsin didn’t respond at first, and it was in that deafening silence that you realized just how close you two were sitting. At this angle, with Halsin looking down at you, your noses are mere inches from another and you can feel his breath ghosting gently over your cheek.
He slowly reached a hand up, resting it against your cheek as his thumb wiped gently at the corner of your mouth. Your lips parted slightly at the action, and Halsin leaned just that much closer, his lips just barely brushing yours when a distant call of his name snapped you both back to reality.
You let out a frustrated sigh as you flop back onto the furry heap behind you, ignoring the annoyed huff your companion lets out. “He was going to kiss me!” You say, exasperated. “I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life. If we hadn’t been interrupted…”
You sigh as you sit up and turn to look at the bear who has become one of your closest companions. He’s been more absent as of late, and at first you had thought it was because you’ve been at the grove more often and you just haven’t been around to see him. Something that made you feel bad at first.
But even on the days you weren’t at the grove, your companion was nowhere to be found, even despite the bowls of fruit and honey you’d leave for him.
Today is the first day you’d seen him in days, and it was just in time for him to listen to you rant about the elf you’ve fallen head over heels for. Though, he doesn’t seem to mind. You move so you’re able to wrap your arms around the big bear's neck, your face resting just behind his head as you lay against him.
“I…I like him a lot,” you admit.
You know the bear can’t understand you. You know it’s foolish to talk to an animal. But you can’t help but talk to someone about how you feel. You can’t exactly talk to Halsin about this considering he’s the subject of your thoughts.
The bear seems to still beneath you as you continue, as if listening intently to your words.
“He’s so kind,” you continue. “He allowed me into his home and shared so much with me despite not knowing who I was. And he’s funny too,” you let out a small laugh at that, heat rushing to your face. “And handsome…”
You sigh and shake your head. “I feel like some people might find him intimidating or rugged in a bad way if they just saw him and never talked to him but…I think he’s beautiful. His smile is so captivating, and anytime I look at him I want to reach up and trace his scars before finally, finally kissing him…”
You huff, pulling away from your furry friend only to find bright hazel eyes already on you. “Listen to me,” you chastise. “Talking to a bear about my silly crush.” You smile and reach up to ruffle the bear's ears gently. “At least you’re a good listener.”
You move to stand, the bear doing the same, his nose nuzzling at your hand as if begging you to stay.
“I know, I know,” you say softly. “I haven’t been around as much. But I have to get ready. I…I invited Halsin over for dinner tonight,” you tell him, smiling when he gives a small groan of what you assume to be encouragement. “I promise tomorrow I will have the biggest bowl of fruit and honey you could ever eat. As a sorry gift.”
The bear huffs at this before sitting down and plopping back to the forest floor, resting his head on his paws. You smile and ruffle the fur on his head one last time before heading home.
You have a druid to impress.
─────── ·𖥸· ───────
The knock to your door comes just as you’re about to finish off the meal you’ve prepared. You roasted some fish you caught in the nearby river and paired with vegetables from your garden, and even a loaf of fresh bread you managed to scrounge up.
You silently tamp down the anxiety building in your chest as you rush to the door, wiping your hands on your apron before opening it to greet the tall druid on the other side.
Halsin smiles down at you from the threshold, eyes twinkling as he gazes at you. “Hard at work, I see.”
You furrow your brows at his greeting, and Halsin takes the moment of confusion to reach up and wipe a thumb gently across your cheek. It’s then that you register the flour on your cheeks, heat rushing to your face as you reach up to try and wipe away any excess when he drops his hand.
“Oh that,” you laugh. “It’s probably from the bread. I just finished getting everything ready if you want to come in,” you say, stepping aside and gesturing for him to enter.
He smiles warmly at you, accepting your invitation before closing the door behind him. He then reveals a wine bottle he’s had in his hand, offering it out to you.
“A gift for a most gracious host,” he says in a way of explanation. “Though I must admit it is nothing as elaborate as you’d find in the cities…It’s still better than nothing.”
Your lips tilt upward at the kind gesture, and you reach out to take the bottle. “I’m sure it’s lovely, oh-” your eyes widen as you take in the pale color of the wine inside. “And it’s a white wine…That’s perfect for the meal, white always pairs wonderfully with fish.”
You let out a soft laugh as you turn the bottle in your hands before looking up at Halsin once more. “It’s like you read my mind.”
A flash of… something flickers in his eyes at your words, his lips twitching downwards ever so slightly. “Something of that nature, I suppose.”
You quickly shrug off your momentary observation, moving instead to take off your apron and wash your hands before serving dinner. You also take this moment to run a damp rag over your face when Halsin isn’t looking, clearing away any more unwanted blemishes.
Once you’re through, Halsin helps you carry the various plates and bowls to the table, eyes widening slightly when they land on the flaky fish steaming on one of the large plates.
You set a plate in front of him as he takes his seat, speaking before you can stop yourself. “I chose fish because I wasn’t sure if you ate… meat,” you scrunch your nose. “Although now that feels silly considering fish is a type of meat-”
Halsin cuts off your worried rambling by reaching out to place his hand over your own where it rests on the table, giving it a gentle squeeze. “It’s wonderful,” he assures you, withdrawing his hand with an amused sparkle in his eye. “And I can assure you that meat is a part of our diet,” he teases. “Though I could see why one may think it would not be. Death is a part of life in nature, creatures passing in order to provide for another.”
You nod, relief washing over your anxiety. “Yes, of course. That makes more sense I suppose,” you say before gesturing to the food steaming before you. “Well, help yourself. We don’t want it to get cold.”
Halsin smiles and obliges your invitation, but instead of serving himself he moves to serve you first.
“Oh!” You say, instantly reaching out to stop him. “You don’t have to do that, you’re the guest you should eat first-“
“I insist,” Halsin interrupts, already moving to place a piece of fish onto your plate. “You took the time to cook and invite me into your home. The least I can do is serve you before myself.”
After a moment of hesitation you acquiesce, smiling as you sit back in your chair while he finishes dishing out your meal to you and then himself.
Once the food is plated, the night moves much quicker than you would have liked, conversation flowing easier than you ever anticipated. Talks of what’s been happening in the grove to what you’ve recently planted in your garden to everything in between.
Halsin tells you of his childhood and the adventures he’s been on and you tell him of your life growing up in the city to what led you here to your own little slice of wilderness. It’s only when your plates are empty, bellies are full and the mess cleaned up does Halsin suggest a walk.
You eagerly agree, following his lead out of your small home and into the forest now blanketed in faint orange light due to the setting sun. Halsin seems to have a specific place in mind, taking your hand in his own as he leads you through the woods.
You can’t stop the smile as he laces his fingers with yours.
“So, do you have a specific place in mind?” you ask.
Halsin smiles. “I do, it’s a place of great importance to me, and one of my favorite places of solace in the forest.”
Your brows wing up in surprise as you look up at him. “What makes this place so important?”
“I…” he trails off for a moment, “I met someone very special to me there.”
You nod, your curiosity piqued even more at this information. Who could he have met there? And why was he sharing it with you?
You don’t have time to voice your questions though, as Halsin’s steps start to slow just as you enter an all too familiar clearing off the bank of the river. It’s the very same clearing where you met your bear friend, and where you often come to sit with the large creature. You were here just this morning.
Halsin must sense your familiarity with the space, because he gives your hand a small squeeze. “You know this place?”
You nod, lips tilting upwards fondly. “Yeah I…” you feel heat rush to your cheeks. “You’re going to think I'm crazy but…I’ve actually befriended a bear that I think lives in the woods. This is where we end up a lot of the time.”
“A bear, you say?” he asks, voice lacking the surprise you expected to hear.
You turn to face Halsin, that feeling of familiarity that you had when you first met him tugging at your mind. “Halsin…why did you bring me here?”
The druid lets out a small sigh. “I will be honest that I had a plan in mind when I brought you here,” he begins, turning to face you as he takes both of your hands in his own.
“My life has been a long one, and I have taken many lovers. My heart does not stir lightly, especially as the years pass me by…” slowly, he reaches up to cup your cheek. “But it does now. I feel more for you than I have in centuries. But there is something I must tell you.”
Your heart is pounding in your chest, blood rushing in your ears as Halsin speaks. He’s confessing to you, telling you the one thing you;ve yearned to hear for weeks now. Yet, you can’t help the anxiety that roils in your belly. What could he possibly have to tell you?
“I…I feel the same way,” you tell him, swallowing thickly. “You can tell me anything.”
Halsin smiles, but you can’t help but notice the slightly guilty look on his face as he does so. “I only hope you feel the same after I reveal what I must. I’ve come to care for you, deeply - but even I know no relationship can be built on lies.”
Halsin pulls away from you then, and your anxiety skyrockets. But before you can question him, a burst of light blinds you, leaves and grass exploding in the space where Halsin was and leaving behind a -
Bear?
It takes your eyes a moment to adjust, but when they do, your heart leaps into your throat. Halsin just turned into a bear - something you knew was possible among druids but…
He didn’t just turn into a bear. He turned into your bear. The bear you’ve spent months feeding and befriending. The bear you’ve spent nights talking to about anything and everything.
Including Halsin.
You’ve been talking to Halsin about Halsin. About your feeling for him, about that day he almost kissed you before getting interrupted.
“Oh my gods… ” You gasp, one hand coming up to cover your mouth. “You - You’re the bear. The bear I've been - that means…” you let out an embarrassed groan, covering your eyes as you hope for the earth to open up and swallow you whole.
“You heard me this morning! ”
You hear another burst of magic, and then two warm calloused hands are wrapping around your wrists, pulling your hands from your burning face as you look up at Halsin in his human form once more.
“It was not my intention to deceive you,” he says softly, eyes full of regret. “When I first stumbled upon you that day all those months ago it was my intention to avoid this area of the forest after that, but…” he sighs. “Something about you called to me. Your kindness, your lack of fear around the bear of whom so many are afraid. It is…rare for me to be able to be my full self around others. Most people want the man and tremble at the bear, but it is just as a part of me as this is.”
He sighs again, eyes falling away from yours as he takes a step back from you, dropping your hands. “I…understand if this turns you away. It was a deception, despite my intentions never being malicious.”
You watch him silently for a moment, letting the information sink in. despite what most people may feel, you find yourself lacking any of the anger you expected. Instead all that comes out of you is a laugh, a laugh that turns into a long string of bubbling laughter.
Halsin seems surprised by your reaction, and when you finally manage to compose yourself you step forward and take his hands in yours again, lips split into a smile.
“So, that means you heard what I said this morning? About the day you almost kissed me?” you ask, voice soft.
At the reminder of your earlier conversation, Halsin smiles again, cheeks tinged with a barely there blush. “I do.”
“Will you kiss me now?” you ask boldly.
Halsin chuckles, eyes sparkling with delight. “It would be my pleasure.”
Then his lips are on yours.
It’s just as you imagined it, his lips soft and gentle against your own despite his size. His hands move to rest against your hips, squeezing as he moves to deepen the kiss. You feel his tongue run along the seam of your lips, and you eagerly let him in, unable to stop a whimper as he enters your mouth.
He tastes like the tart wine you had with dinner and something you can only identify as him. It's heady and soft all at the same time, and you find yourself craving more of it, more of him.
Your arms slide up to wrap around his neck, pulling his body closer to yours just as he pulls away from your lips. His chest heaves, his breaths puffing against your cheek as he looks down at you.
“You truly are beautiful,” he murmurs, leaning down to brush a kiss against your cheek. “Inside and out. Silvanus has blessed me, this day.”
You smile. “And hopefully for more days to come.”
Pressing a quick kiss to your lips, Halsin wraps his arms around your waist. “I would have you for as many days as you’d allow. Man or bear.”
You giggle at that. “Why not both?”
A deep laugh escapes the man before you and he spins you happily in the air before taking you both gently to the forest floor, the grass blessedly cool through your clothes as he comes to hover over you.
“You shall have me however you desire, my heart,” he says, before leaning down to kiss you once more.
You happily reciprocate, hands reaching up to thread through his hair. And as you lay amongst the grass beneath the setting sun…you couldn’t be happier you’d met a bear.

i- cHiKaRa??? listen, i adore ennoshita, but usually he doesn’t get this kind of attention. so to find such a beautiful piece of work about a wonderful man? *chef’s kiss*
Pairing: Ennoshita Chikara x Reader
Warnings: NSFW, 18+, Breath Play, Choking, Teasing, Edging?, Begging, Fluff, Post-Time Skip, College Setting, No Actual Smut lol but still v much 18+, Heavy Kink Negotiation, Dom/Sub Play, Good BDSM Etiquette from Perfect Gentleman Ennoshita Chikara, Established Relationship, Drinking, Mild Angst that is resolved quickly, admittedly very little editing on my part lol.
You never imagined when you agreed to a date with Ennoshita that he would be anything but the perfect gentleman he’s always presented himself to be. And he is, always. He opens doors for you, pulls your chair out, helps you with your coat, listens to you about your day and asks permission to be physically affectionate.
He’s lovely and handsome, and not a bad pull for only your third partner since starting college. Your relationship with him is certainly the most serious you’ve had, though you sometimes catch yourself thinking about how people say college is meant to be for more wild experiences and experimenting. You don’t think you’ll ever get anything wild from Ennoshita that some of your friends brag about, and you try not to let such surface level disappointment eat at you.
Chikara treats you well. He’s a good man, even if he hasn’t brought up the topic of sex in the first month or so of dating, but you haven’t either. You’re trying to respect his boundaries–when kissing gets heated, he always backs off, and you assume it’s his own discomfort with it, or some desire to protect your purity, too.
You come to find you’re somewhat right. Just not in the way you thought.

GUH-
my word. this had me patting my damp brow with a handkerchief it got me so good
Sylus is for the ones whose feet always seem to find the cracks in the pavement, who always seem to stumble over themselves as they try desperately to make something- a name for themselves, a conversation, a new relationship, a stronger existing one, anything- only to fail again and again.
Sylus is for the ones who find themselves holding up their hands as they watch them shake. Why you? Why was everything always on you? Why did you always have to make the effort, the connection, the fake-happy face to appease someone, just so that they might love you?
Sylus is for the ones who truly try, but have longed since reached the breaking point. Don't worry darling. Hide the cracks. If they're hidden, you surely can handle a little bit more disappointment. A little bit more 'being alone' no matter how hard you try. A little bit more on focusing on everyone else's needs while neglecting your own. Why are you breaking? Why are your pieces on the floor? Chin up, darling. It's only for a while longer. How much longer? Well, how much more do you have left to give?
Sylus is for the ones who sit wondering why. Why is there suddenly the foreign feeling of care, of love, of endearment? When everything has been 'nothing' for so long, how are you supposed to cope with 'anything' at all? Much less 'everything'? The stack of bills are paid, the cupboards no longer have ramen, rice, and beans. The texts come frequently, and your phone rings randomly whenever you cross someone's mind. When have you ever crossed someone's mind? And the clothes bought for you fit like a glove.
Sylus is for the ones who have given everything all of their life, who have found themselves desperate for connections that no one wants to make with them, who give their everything in exchange for more anxiety and demands at their expense.
Sylus is for the ones who want security.
