a lot of people asked about necks but i don’t  much to say so i covered a little of the muscles too HERE”S A MORE DETAILED muscle diagram if you’re interested! don’t overwork the neck muscles bc in a lot of people they actually don’t rly show up at all ALSO I tend to draw longer necks out of habit ,some people have shorter necks

could you do a body tutorial please? i always get stuck on the shoulders once ive drawn the head because they always look so board? i’m sure id struggle with the rest of the body too but once i fail with shoulders i usually give up and just draw creepy floating heads...

ooofok so

I’m gonna make u a shoulder tutorial cause a full body tutorial would be absolutely gigantic.ok so u got ur head right, i’m going for a straight forwards view point on this so

Could You Do A Body Tutorial Please? I Always Get Stuck On The Shoulders Once Ive Drawn The Head Because

there they arenext is the neck, i typically make this thinner than the jawline and bring the length down so that the chin falls about half way between the jaw and the slope of the shoulders.

next i draw the slope of the shoulder on both sides and connect them with a horizontal line. The horizontal line is where you’d put the collar bones.I draw the slopes so that they extend past the ears. I tend to angle them at 45 degrees when standing normally.

I use this bit to quickly sketch in the collar bones and the tendons (?)the actual shoulder joint though i draw as round with a kind of, rounded corner????? both sides are p much even on each joint. I draw the joint as roughly the same width and the shoulder slope.I am god awful at maths so this bit doesn’t add up but it kinda ends up looking as if it’s split into thirds.

Could You Do A Body Tutorial Please? I Always Get Stuck On The Shoulders Once Ive Drawn The Head Because

as u rotate the shoulders they over lap each other but the basic elements are still there, just shortened or behind something.

Could You Do A Body Tutorial Please? I Always Get Stuck On The Shoulders Once Ive Drawn The Head Because

i’m not great at explaining shoulders all that well but i hope this helps at least somewhat.

Hey Artists, C. Spike Trotman, Founder Of Iron Circus Comics, Just Posted An Invaluable Thread On Depicting

Hey artists, C. Spike Trotman, founder of Iron Circus Comics, just posted an invaluable thread on depicting different types of black hair. I’d do the thing where you screencap the whole thread and post it but it’s just too long (which is great because it’s a whole lot of useful information!) Give her a follow while you’re there.

Anyway, go check it out. I just wanted to save it and share it because I didn’t know how much I didn’t know!

Your art is amazing in all aspects! It's very inspiring! My sister and I both adore your Morrowind drawings especially.

However one thing about your art which has left me in awe is how 3 dimensional it is. "It's like you can hold them" as my sister says.

I've been trying to improve this aspect of my drawing but it's very overwhelming. I don't know what to do and what to learn. Any tips or advice in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Like what do I even learn? Anatomy? Perspective? Shape design?

Thank you very much💖

AHHHH this is such a kind thing to say, thank you so much ;; ❤️ i don't know what to say,, but i'll try my best to explain how i go about drawing!!

from my perspective, what really helps develop a sense of structure and three-dimensionality is breaking shapes down to simplified forms, take this maav sketch as an example:

Your Art Is Amazing In All Aspects! It's Very Inspiring! My Sister And I Both Adore Your Morrowind Drawings
Your Art Is Amazing In All Aspects! It's Very Inspiring! My Sister And I Both Adore Your Morrowind Drawings

breaking down objects into cylinder-like and rouded shapes provides a good visualization of volume and how an object moves and rotates in a three dimensional space! so yes, you were right!! structurization and perspective are crucial to learn along with anatomy. here's how i like to do it:

Your Art Is Amazing In All Aspects! It's Very Inspiring! My Sister And I Both Adore Your Morrowind Drawings

making grid-like structure studies like these helps me with shading and rendering later - think of it as some kind of a preview which shows you where exactly will the volumes intersect, curve, bend etc i hope i was able to answer your question and best of luck in your drawing!! much love :) 💖💖

please do not make bleached panther

black panther was released in theaters less than half a week ago (2/19) and i’ve already seen the main characters with white features and people making the characters too light and you absolute buffoons have let these posts blow up so im here’s a post on how to avoid bleaching black characters

skin color reference lip reference lip/nose/hair reference

if you want to take a skin color reference do not play by eye use this bitch right here

image

i wish this was obvious but if the source is an edited picture say like this

image

don’t use that source. it’s best to use a source where there is more natural light or you can look up the actor/actress and get a solid picture of them. also take note of what kind of facial features these characters have (nose, lips, etc) by looking at stills or posters of them. not all of these characters have slim noses or smaller lips.

i know this is going to be a new experience for people drawing black characters so if you make a mistake, learn from it especially if it’s from a black person. get the okay from black people before posting. you’ll get better with time and practice. this isn’t a “let people draw them the way they want” thing because this movie respects african and black cultures like how they put so much effort into the costumes and i really would not hurt to respect black people

feel free to post more sources

I Finally Reached 5000 Followers *quietly Cheers* And @strongity Asked Me A Day Before That Happened

I finally reached 5000 followers *quietly cheers* and @strongity asked me a day before that happened to maybe do a tutorial thing on eyes and anatomy… So I did my best. I have kind of moved past using methods to draw (like using boxes to create shapes), just because I’m so used to drawing people. It kind of became a tips thing rather than a step by step guide, but hopefully it will help some of you!

Hi! I've always seen you around the sonic community and I decided to see your other art and I am in love! especially with Faust! He's living in my mind rent free!

Hope you don't mind me asking, what's the secret behind how you draw paws? they look so meaty (at least Starline and Faust's) and I love it!

Hello!! Thanks to Twitter's 'For You' page I've been coming across A LOT of sonic stuff, it's quite tragic and I'm sorry /j

I'm very glad you are liking with little horrible bat man! <3 (This is not really /J, he is kind of a mix of the worst kind of people except covered in loser and gay energy) Hope you are ready to see more~ Now! Today has been an exceptionally good day so let me use my energy to whip you some simple tutorials!

There's two main ways I draw paws! I think I've given Starline both of these kinds, meanwhile Faust almost exclusively is drawn with the second method.

First, the more soft, cute type!

Hi! I've Always Seen You Around The Sonic Community And I Decided To See Your Other Art And I Am In Love!

And then this type when I want it to be sexy or uncanny or scary (or all of the above)

Hi! I've Always Seen You Around The Sonic Community And I Decided To See Your Other Art And I Am In Love!

Those are a bit wonky here and there, but it's a bit late right now and my wife will get mad if i let my soup get cold~ Hope those help!! If they're too small you should be able to 'right click and open the image in a new tab~

Thanks a lot for the message =D <3 Love getting those

Love your artwork!! :) as a professional illustrator, would you tell me some advice on developing potrait? im always mess up when it comes to potrait drawing. i really dont know how artist like you can be so precise in developing value for face. Thank you very much :)

Hello  and Thank You :)

The first thing if You want to do portraits is to know anatomy. Start with learning what is under the skin and understand how it affects the face. When You got that covered You must know how face is structured. That will give You the knowledge how to light head. Head is a cube-like object. (yea! NOT sphere!) On face we have other little cube-like object (nose).

A great exercise is to find photos of a face and draw structure lines over it.

Example:

image
image

You see clearly now? The structure of a nose, where cheeks are, forehead etc.

After doing this You will be able to create the face from a memory using these helping lines.

Like here. This is Michael Hampton exercise:

image

You see how everything fits thanks to the structure lines?

Drawing a face requires TONS of practice. Find thousand photo references and practice.

Understand the anatomy and face structure first. It’s basic. That would be the things I would recommend for everyone who start drawing faces :)

I hope it helps a little!
