Undeniable multiple-divorce energy. My favorite dynamic.
scoutโs VA brings us that A+ phrasing as always
With Nastya not having a death in DTTM... And the whole mechanisms running on belief.... She never stopped believing she was immortal.
Nastya finds Brian's body first, and she's certain he's just glitching, just stuck in some sort or statis.
She doesn't think he's dead, because the more logical explanation here is that somehow he ended up in space, and its been awhile. Clearly it's a mix between the trauma he already has from space and the harsh environment, and if she fixes him, he'll wake up.
That's how it's always worked.
And that's how it does.
He wakes up gasping and wheezing, gears spinning to life as his heart continues to best beat beat
He explains everything to her, but he's alive, his gears are spinning, and he figures he was never really dead.
The new truth is they can come close to dying, but never cross that line.
They can brush against death, but never sink into it.
Someone will always wake them up.
The first time it was the doctor for many of them, and with their shared belief that they arnt actually dead, the second they are torn into the living by Brian and Nastya, and whoever for up before them.
The universe has more stories for them to tell, and the lull in belief was just a new arc of their tales.
They wake up Jonny last, because no one is sure they really should, a long time after the others.
Ashes brings up he only got so truely desperate to die after Nastya left, gestures at Nastya, who shrinks a bit.
Tim remarks that he forgave Jonny got being selfish and bringing him back once already, and honestly its just fucking karma.
But since they all believe themselves immortal, that they cannot die. Only come tantalizingly close (exept the ever doubtful Marius) they believe that they will wake up from this. They believe that Jonny will wake up from this.
So Jonny's hand breaks through the dirt of his grave, and a particularly pissed off Jonny D'ville drags himself from the earth. "Why the fuck did you assholes let them bury me?"
To those moments who never happened.
- Hello, Ace. Good to finally see you.
- Hello Ace. You're finally here, little dear.
If someone didn't decide to die with glitter and drama, I think this scene could have happened for those three.
For little Ace who would never doubt he've been love. For unbreakable Rouge who die hoping the ex enemy never change his mind about her child ( hoping he will teach him to grow, to believe, to love, hoping he will watch her child and never let him down, hoping he will be loved, fed and clothed, hoping for her child she'd love so much so she break the law's nature for him ). For Roger, who, the last day, the last hour, the last minute, have been asked where were his treasure and he never responded it was in two little brats who look at him like a father or in this woman and in this unborn child who he will forever love.
murdoc: pain is just weakness leaving the body.
russel: so if i break your nose again, you won't cry because it's making you stronger?
comic based on my CRITICAL mishearing of a specific line in episode 147 that has haunted my brain ever since
Welcome to episode 170: "Recollection" or, as I like to call it:
Or even better:
the transition im crying
Little Things in Novel A I'll Never Recover From:
Deuce having a conversation with a skeleton.
Ace being over the top respectful to Banshee to the point where he's apologizing to her when she's not even there.
Skull addressing Ace and Deuce as "master" (idk why he does it but it's rly cute).
The precious heart to heart between Deuce and Whitebeard ๐ฅบ (Deuce becomes one of his favorite sons and no one can tell me otherwise).
How Whitebeard gets all ashamed when he burns his hand in the same spot and is only worried about Deuce being disappointed in him.
Ace and Deuce's attempted ferris wheel date.
The part where Mihal only ever leaves his cabin when something might be wrong with Ace (the crew loves him ๐ฅบ so fucking much).
How Deuce is super defensive when the crew reads over his shoulder as he's writing, but is way nicer when it's Wallace (cuz Wallace is learning to read and it's like Deuce is actively making sure he doesn't discourage him which is so sweet).
Deuce taking haki coated kicks to the stomach multiple times just so he can break Dorrow's flame throwers in order to save Ace.
Dine and dash.
Thatch and Ace becoming insanely close friends and drinking buddies even BEFORE Ace joined the crew.
Flower Crowns ๐๐ฅฐ๐๐ฅฐ๐
When Ace shared sake with Whitebeard ๐ฅบ๐ฅบ๐ฅบ (that whole cup exchange actually).
Everyone on the Spades panicking because they have no faith in Ace and are worried he may light a Celestial Dragon on fire if he's left alone to wander (which is, let's be honest, very fair).
Ace being an absolute fucking DISASTER of a man when he meets Shanks and tries to thank him for saving Luffy.
Ace: For I am but a humble country boy-
Shanks: What in the fuck...?
(Honey plz talk like a normal person I'm-)
Shanks figuring out who Ace's father is in .2 seconds because he's literally that smart.
Deuce heel kicking a bounty hunter over the ship railing (a jealous and protective boi :3).
Banshee: Are you sure this is okay?
Ace: Yeah it was Deuce's idea.
(BABY IS LISTENING TO HIS BOYFREN TO THE LETTER. Also the implication that Ace still and will always go to Deuce for advice and to help with plans even though they're part of Whitebeard's crew. It's just... so pure and romantic).
Kotatsu growling at Blackbeard ๐
Deuce fully prepared to DRAG Ace away from the battle with Jimbei after he collapses.
Deuce and Ace are in love bye.
