We've seen autistic Steve, autistic Eddie, and Autistic Robin. All three are great, and we love to see it.
But you know what I haven't seen?
Autistic Dustin.
Just picture it! I imagine that Dustin would have mild autism, just because that seems fitting for his character. He'd probably try to hide it, because I really can't picture Hawkins Middle or Hawkins High having a very good support system for special needs kids.
But then he'd meet Steve. Steve, who is people smart rather than book smart. Steve, who can tell that there's something else that Dustin needs support in.
I can just imagine Steve being the most supportive big brother/mom when Dustin finally trusts him enough to tell him (Steve). He'll find Dustin the best stim toys, so that he doesn't hurt himself. He'll help Dustin through every meltdown. He'll shower his kid with compliments when Dustin feels like he's just too different.
Okay, that's all I have to say on this matter. Also, please keep in mind that I am /not/ autistic. I do, however, know many kids who are, and have had many close interactions with them. I am basing the finer details of this ramble on my interactions with them.
