Hi I don't know if your still doing prompts but could I get 14. “Just please be my best friend right now, not the guy I just confessed my love to.” With Sami Zayn and smut at all?

It just slipped out. In a relaxed moment. You were frozen. Sami, aka Battery Man, kept playing the game while Xavier cheered in the background. He ended up winning the fight and you spun out of your chair so the next person could rotate in. You plastered on a smile until Sami lost. 

He nodded you to follow him. 

Dammit. That meant he’d heard you. 

“So we both suck at Tekken. Not a huge shocker,” he said casually, tugging you down to sit on a crate next to him. 

“Yeah. No shocker.” You swallowed. 

Sami pulled out his phone. You second-guessed yourself until he asked, “are we going to talk about it?” 

You groaned. Flickers of your life by his side filled your mind. Him having to tie your shoes that one time when Nia power bombed you a bit rough. Ruffling his hair after he won a match. Stuffing your faces at a rediscovered restaurant. But you said you loved him. Would it change all that? “Please, just be my best friend right now. Not the guy I just confessed my love to.”

“Isn’t ending up with both the goal?” Sami noticed your distress and took your hand, tilting your face to his. “To have someone who is both your best friend and the love of your life? I can say from this side of things, I am… absolutely over the moon to have both. If you’ll have me.”

Your voice felt quiet in your throat. “Really?”

Licking his lips, Sami leaned closer to your face. “Really.”
