Laughter rings out through the small kitchen as the two youngest Curtis brothers enter their home. The oldest of the two turns to his brother and smiles. There’s one one thing that can make Darrel Shaynne Curtis laugh like that and it was you. The boys round the corner to find you and their older baking a pumpkin pie and laughing. You had the pumpkin spice container in your hand and were threatening to pour it on your boyfriend if he didn’t put the whisk back. They watched as he laughed at your threats of spicing him. 

When you make him laugh he looks at though there is no worry in the world. Watching him be with you always brought a smile to their face. They know that their brother is finally getting the love he deserves. They can trust you to care for him when things get tough and stressful for him or when he just needs some love. It truly will be a mystery to them how you can make him smile without seemingly trying but nonetheless they’re grateful. 

They smile as you attempt to raise the spice above his head to prove your point but to just have the container taken from your hand. Darry waved it above your head, claiming to have the upper hand. They watched as you stopped and stared at their older brother, unamused and mumbling something about getting revenge. Their brother set the spice container down, away from your reach they might add, and smiled at you. They watched as you stuck your tongue out at him then put the uncooked pie into the oven and set the timer. 

Sure y’all weren’t cooking the preferred chocolate cake but you sure knew how to make a pie. The way you could make a pie taste perfect and never burn the crust was always a mystery to the boys. They remember when Two-bit had refused to eat your chocolate pie claiming that the only chocolate thing he’ll eat would be chocolate cake but you had insisted that he at least try a bit and how could he refuse that. They remember how everyone pretended not to see him eat the remainder of the pie once you had turned your back to him. From then on you had hardly ever heard a complaint come from anyone’s mouth about your food. 

They smiled to each other as everyone gathered around the table later that night, knowing that you had made one of your delicious pumpkin pies. It was almost impossible to get everyone to calm down and stop being rowdy around dinner time but as soon as they heard you were cooking it was never a problem. They watch as compliments are thrown your way and as you keep claiming that it wasn’t all you and that Darry had helped although they all know you truly did most of the cooking if not all but it was the thought that counted right?

Smth that's lingers on my mind is how the Greasers are really poor (great observation) but also a lot of POC were broke in the 60's due to people not hiring them. pony smiled at the touch and looked back up at johnny, his face illuminated by the moon. he brushed a strand of hair out of johnny’s eyes, causing johnny to blush and look away. luckily pony couldn’t see it in the darkness.

“ will you be alright to sleep? we can stay like this if you want.. “ johnny asked him softly after a few tender moments.

pony hummed and nodded “ yeah, as long as we stay like this. “ johnny could hear the smile in his voice when he said that, laughing quietly.

“ alright, i- uh.. “ johnny looked into pony’s expectant eyes and gulped. fuck why did he do this. “i’m not sure if this’ll make you feel better or mess up your whole night, but- “ johnny pressed a gentle kiss to pony’s forehead and sighed.

it was quiet for a few seconds, his anxiety rapidly rising in the silence.

"Johnny!?" I yelled into the pure darkness surrounding me. "Johnny, please!" I close my eyes, trying to escape this repetitive reality. Suddenly, I see a light flash 7 feet away, making me snap out of my trance. It was Johnny. I tried to run to him but I couldn't move. I screamed over and over but he couldn't hear my pleas. He just blankly stares at me, with a face of pure terror. His head slowly tilts to the right and his mouth opens. "Why didn't you save me?! Do I mean nothing to you? It's all your fault!" I let out a loud scream of pure anguish, trying to find an out to this distorted place. "Someone help!"

Suddenly, a fire starts to trail up behind him, slowly getting closer. "Johnny, run!" I watch as the fire quickly envelopes him fully, his screams of pain piercing my ears. I extend my legs to run to him, free from my previous paralysis. Once I got there, he was...gone. I scream, dropping to my knees in sadness when I feel someone tap my shoulder. I slowly rose up and then proceeded to turn around. When I turned, I saw a disfigured johnny, covered in debris and burns. "Why didn't you stop me?" is all I heard before I woke up screaming.

I started to cry until I felt a pair of arms wrap around me, I jumped slightly. "It's ok baby, it's ok." I cried even harder at the soft tone, feeling safe. "Johnny?" He held me in his arms and rocked back and forth. I inhaled his scent for comfort, "What happened?" My tears were starting to dry and I could talk normally "I had a dream you left me, you died in the fire." His mouth dropped open slightly and tears welled in his eyes. He's never been the same since. Johnny started to have a more positive outlook on things since so seeing me so upset hurt him too.

He sat us up fully, soothing me. We sat in silence for a little while till he made a suggestion. "How about we get some food? The dingo's still open." I beamed at his words. He always knew what to say. We got in the car and started to drive to the dingo, listening to the radio. Johnny put his spare hand on my thigh and started to rub slowly. I put my hand on top of his and squeezed, feeling instant relief.

We arrived in the next five minutes. Once we walked in, Christy came to take our order. We decided to get a grilled cheese and vanilla milkshake with extra whip cream like usual. We sat and talked till sunrise about our future, favorites, and what are kids would be like. It felt like dream, unlike my recurring nightmares. After we were done, we headed back home. Before we walked into the house, Johnny grabbed my hand and stopped me. "Let's stay out here for a while, huh?" I shivered slightly before protesting, "Johnny it's cold!" He laughed at my reaction before pulling me in close. "I'll always warm you up." I giggled at his theatrics before sighing slightly and giving in.

He gripped me tighter than before, kissing my head. "I'll never leave you, baby. Before I knew it, we were both crying again. "I love you so much, Johnny."
