i love Opiliones!!! you may know that they're not spiders (Aranea) , but you may not know why they're not spiders-- these pictures provide an excellent couple examples!
unlike Aranea, Opiliones have less than eight eyes (up to six). the connection between the cephalothorax (head) and the abdomen (bulbous back part) is much less defined, lending them a more circular body shape than spiders. they do not have silk or venom glands-- their mouthparts are more suited to chewing than piercing. overall very cute and fun arachnids!

We really are sleeping on harvestmen. They're so cool, and most people don't know about any besides the common daddy long legs!
