Letters between General V.M. Aquilo and Priest of the Sanctum Hibernal Middlemist during the war of silver and stars.
Pt.1
It was mid-day when the letter came in..He saw one of the sanctum's lower workers bring it to him..His eyes, half lidded, scanned the messenger. Hibernal was currently working on nothing in particular...With his sister out he had to take care of the sanctum.
Thankfully he had help with the janitor's and lower priests..
Any moment he excepted his father or mother to come in and ask what he was doing. They tried to stay interested in him even with Apricity taking over the sanctum next. Though now, every time he looked towards his door he wished he could go and ask what they were doing, what they were thinking.
Hibernal gritted his teeth and accepted the letter. Damned royals.
The brownish dragon closed the door in the surprised workers face and crossed his room to sit and read the letter his wife had sent him. The moonglobe cast out light allowing him to read the carefully written out words..
Hibernal took a piece of paper and a fountain pen and started writing.
"Dear Verglas M. Aquilo,"
"It's about midday as I've read and gotten your letter. I sincerely hope the weather stays clear as you clear their ranks. Have you stayed safe?"
He stopped writing and chewed on the tip of the pen lightly. What could he say? Hibernal has been studying the Royal army. Yes, say something on that.
''I have heard many good things about the Divisions you travel with. With their continued strength you may yet prevail. I send hope Discipline stays with you during these times. Things at the sanctum have been quiet since my sister left for her Great Big Journey, though I worry she'll get distracted by a rabbit on the first day."
"I also look forward to discussing the current events with you, though I suspect there will be many more letters."
"Until then."

Part one
It was wonderfully cold out, dead of winter and just past dusk. Outside the deer hide tent, the wind whipped through the quickly assembled military camp. Her makeshift desk was, in fact, a crate within which was grain if she wasn't mistaken. It didn't truly matter- quiet moments were hard to come by. Still, even when she had them, there was work to be done.
"Dear Hibernal Mid Aquilo,"
Was it appropriate to refer to him only by name? They had been married only a few moons- It might be tactical, at least. It wasn't like she could share any important information lest this be intercepted- if she were being strictly war-minded, she wouldn't write at all for that same concern.
"It's dusk as I write this, and the weather looks as though it will allow us safe passage. Morale remains high, and the enemy forces have struggled to pass through the mountains due to their low tolerance of high altitudes."
Allmother above, it sounds like a military report- Come on Verglas, he's a priest, not a soldier. Reflection always said she couldn't take anything lightly..
"I have sustained no significant injuries, and expect this conflict to be shorter than previously reported- I apologize for my continued absence, and look forward to seeing you again."
