a/n : ughhhh i’m so sorry for not posting, this is sort of short and a bit shitty tbh… i hope you like it anyway! i decided to write for mark first, and i’ll make sure i write for jackson sometime soon as wel with the same trope <3 thank you for requesting.

it was no secret that mark sloan wanted a family. other than being a great surgeon, having about three or four children with the person he loves in a great home with a few pets was all he ever wanted.

mark met you in joe’s bar, not long after he moved to seattle. you were moping about just having broken up with your long term boyfriend and he knew just how to cheer you up.

a few dates later and you had officially became boyfriend and girlfriend, and now, a two years later, you’re sitting in your bathroom staring at a positive pregnancy test.

you and mark had been struggling to get pregnant for about six months now, so this was like a light at the end of the tunnel. a spark of hope shot through you and you couldn’t wait to tell your boyfriend the happy news.

you were snapped out of your thoughts when the front door to your shared apartment shut, and mark’s half-serious, half-joking voice yelled “honey, i’m home!”

the line made you chuckle as you ran out the master bedroom and down the hall into his arms.

“woah, someone’s happy to see me,” mark teased, only making you hold onto him tighter. “you alright, baby?”

he placed you down onto the beige, fluffy carpet and you cleared your throat, opening your mouth yet no words came out. mark waited patiently for you to say something, slowly peeling his coat and shoes off and placing them on the racks next to the front door.

“i have something to show you that i think you’ll like.” you said, shuffling carefully on your feet nervously as he nodded, waiting for you to continue. you didn’t know why a sudden wave of nerves hit you, you knew mark would be excited.

“i’m pregnant.”

“really?” his eyes searched yours, a need for confirmation.

“really.”

mark’s eyes lit up, and you could sense his absolute love and devotion for you and your baby.

“she’s gonna be so cute, i’m going to buy so much stuff for her. spoi-”

“she?” you raised an eyebrow.

“shut up. i’m just so ready, this is what we’ve been waiting for.”

You and Jackson had known each other pretty much forever, but neither of you ever imagined you'd make it this far. He was your best friend for years, the only person you could trust and who made you feel good. Apparently you were the only ones who didn't realize you were in love with each other, because everyone was just waiting for you to get together.

He literally surprised you when he asked you to marry him. You found him in front of the hospital parking when you left, he wanted to come back with you. You got into his car and started talking about everything that had happened to you that day, it seemed like you were going to go on and on, but then he said your name, making you stop and getting your attention. He just looked you in the eye while you waited for him to speak. Then he said those words. "Marry me" and he completely paralyzed you. But you didn't hesitate to answer, you loved him so much, it was everything you wanted. "Oh my God yes yee yess!!!" you managed to climb over the part that separated your seats to lean on him and kiss him. You just made him the happiest person alive.

It took you a while to decide what kind of ceremony to organize, but in the end you didn't do anything too exaggerated, the bare minimum that was enough to remember this beautiful day

When you work it seems impossible not being able to be with him, not being able to see him or feel his presence, but by now everyone had become accustomed to your method, very simple and one of the most popular to say the least: meetings in the call rooms. You always did it as soon as you had time, it was never enough.

When you fight you always feel guilty. It hurt you seeing him mad at you, or even worse that you were mad at him. But somehow one of the two of you always did something to forget what happened and get over it, and that was one thing that helped a lot and that you liked about your relationship.

After your marriage, you had taken a long period of time just for you. It was like being in heaven, you had a wonderful spa vacation. Well having an Avery in your life was an advantage!

You liked to cook, it was one of your common hobbies, and when you did it together, delicious dishes came out. It was also fun to do it, you fed each other seeing who prepared the best thing.

You hadn't talked much about kids yet... In short, you liked kids, but taking care of one was also a demanding thing... Once he had told you his opinion, starting a family is all he would have wanted. Well, one day you would have been ready to be a mother.

Before falling asleep, you always take a moment to stay in each other's arms. Feeling the calories of your bodies against each other was such a nice feeling, as you reassure each other with sweet words and tell how much you love each other, a fantastic way to fall asleep. "We're married..." you repeated to him sometimes still incredulous. "Yes, we're married..." he simply always repeated it to you, helping you to understand that it wasn't a dream, but the reality, as he cuddled closer to you and you both fell asleep.

Your wedding will never be forgotten by anyone. It was an awesome ceremony, all the people you cared about the most were present and made that day even more special than it already was.

You loved Callie so much, you still didn't believe you were married to her, and she made you feel the same way. There have been ups and downs in your relationship, but what you felt for each other was so strong that you had gotten you all this far together, and would have you bonded for a long time to come.

Due to different specialties, you didn't see each other often at work, and waiting for the evening to come home was so frustrating every day! So you often took advantage of it during the breaks, even if you almost always didn't notice how much time was passing and ended up being late, consequently you missed some surgeries...

When you came back later she liked to surprise you in any possible way. She always managed to impress you, making you think every time "Wow, I can't believe this woman it's my wife", and they always ended the same way, with long nights of fun.

Not being great cooks, often when you can, you order take-away food, sit on the sofa and watch films and TV series, which you usually choose by making one evening each. But since you are exhausted after long shifts, you end up falling asleep in an embrace, feeling each other's presence and making you feel safe.

When one of you was sad or angry, you did everything to improve the other's mood. If one of you didn't feel well, it was even able to make the other feels almost broken, because happiness was one of those things you cared about the most, and that has always accompanied your relationship. In short, in times of need you were always available.

Kids? It's something you've talked about often. Becoming a mom was one of your greatest wishes, you even planned to get pregnant at the same moment!

One thing you didn't agree on was the type of vacation to plan. You were the type of beach and sea, you would have loved to spend time in places like Spain or Italy. While Callie was more of a tourist type who liked to visit new and interesting places, surely caused by her great curiosity. Yes, you had completely different ideas about this, but you promised to do both someday. It would have been an interesting experience, also a great way to understand each other's tastes.

"I love you" you repeat it to her often. You're sure she knows it, but you also know that she just need to hear it over and over again, and you always like to repeat it.

Of course, always reserving special moments for your anniversaries. Well, in addition to good sex that gets better on that day, you fill yourself with gifts, go out, have fun, even if the presence of the other is enough for you, and that's why you continue to remember that day with joy, that's all you do than to be thankful for what you have.

After a few days of meeting you, he immediately asked you out. You never expected it, but it made you very happy. At first you thought it was some kind of thank you after standing up for him and getting angry at others for him always being teased. Why did they do it? It didn't make sense. Since then he has never stopped being on you, and you realized that this guy would never bear to lose you.

He was a boy with a heart of gold, it was hard not to get attached. In the morning he always brought you coffee and croissants, your favorites, and when you were having a shitty day he helped you make it a little less shitty.

The nights when you enjoyed dancing at Meredith's house drunk were the best, but especially the one when he finally decided to kiss you. It was a little weird, well you were all definitely drunk, but it happened... unexpectedly. You went to get some chips and when you came back you found him in front of you. "You're so beautiful Y/n" he gave you a little kiss leaving you standing there and went back to dancing.

Since then, things have definitely gotten more serious between you. So at first he was a little embarrassed after remembering what had happened, but knowing him you knew it would take time and the wait was worth it. You didn't think being George O'Malley's girlfriend could be so good. He treated you like a queen, there was no better thing in the world.

One evening you were waiting for him at home, you couldn't wait for him to come back, you had prepared something to eat for the first time in your life, and you had planned all night. Unfortunately when he came back he didn't look very happy. He sprawled out on the sofa and vented to the world. Well, all your plans had failed, and at one point you couldn't stand him talking anymore, so you jumped on him. "Take me upstairs and let off steam all you want with me"

He knew how to treat you very well even sexually, and in front of others he managed to hold back

Nobody tolerates when you fight. Sometimes, however, it can be fun, because you both act like two children, and you always include everyone to try to be right. Oh, this can go on for days.

You like making him angry, you seem to enjoy it, and in the end you always know how to make him happy again. His character is what you love about him, he's not stupid like others say, he simply has his own way of doing that maybe only you understand. Seeing you happy is his favorite thing. There is nothing that makes him calmer and more proud of your happiness.

Jealousy doesn't exist in your relationship. It's amazing, you know. And everyone envies you for it. He only has eyes for you and you do the same

There is no better place than to be in his arms. There is a moment of the day dedicated to this on purpose! He loves to hold you in his arms while he showers you with kisses and tells you thousands of times that he loves you. At that moment there is nothing else you two appear. Then the others arrive and ruin the whole atmosphere...

Since you guys started your internship, you immediately noticed something different about her than the others. The way she carried herself, the way she smiled as she faced every problem, you knew you had to get to know this girl right away.

She was so friendly and kind that making friends with her was very easy and pleasant. Often during breaks you met in front of the vending machines or in the cafeteria, even if only to talk about the cases you had and tell each other every little thing that happened to you during the day.

The first time you kissed was when she had just come out of a very demanding surgery that unfortunately went wrong. She had lost her patient and she kept going crazy and worrying about herself and taking the fault. Then your lips were suddenly on hers. She just looked at you smiling and returning her kiss by placing her hands on your face and making it a little more intense.

When you finished working late you couldn't wait to come back home just to feel that good smell of sweets and see her there in the kitchen. Sometimes when she made all those muffins and put them on the table, you'd sneak a piece and enjoy all that goodness. God where did this girl learn? But if she saw you stealing her sweets she would be able to kill you too. The coolest thing was when she put in the effort and tried new recipes, you came from behind her putting your hands around her waist kissing her on the cheek, she spooned a little of what she had made and fed you. You would turn that there has never been a time when she cooked something disgusting.

In the evening you were always the only ones who stayed up late, when you have so many roommates it's difficult to be alone at home. And also having moments of intimacy...

One night Alex woke up and went into the living room as he couldn't sleep, and he caught you on the couch having sex. God, that was embarrassing enough, then in front of Alex! Well, let's say it was your fault too, and you've learned to use the rooms with closed doors ever since. So much better! Oh, of course Alex hasn't stopped throwing it at you and making silly jokes.

Sometimes it happened that you had to work together, and all the times you couldn't take your eyes off her. You loved looking at her, if you were stressed it helped you. You liked everything about her, her looks, her character, even though she could be tremendously stubborn at times, but most of all her way of interacting with patients. She kept her gaze on you too, and you especially love when you can make eye contact with her.

It almost amused you to see her get jealous every time you spoke to Mark Sloan. She was always throwing at you that he might be interested in you, but you just ignored her, he did that with all the women who worked in this hospital. She was literally could going crazy if she got fixated on something. But when it came to her she ignored it, maybe because she wanted to enjoy watching you go crazy, but you trusted her, and it's one of the things she loves most about you.

At lunch you always sat together with the others, you tried not to create too much tension, but most of the time you ended up flirting endlessly. "Please stop!" the others almost begged you.

Of course the most beautiful moment of the day for you was the morning. She loved it too, especially looking at you sleep waiting for you to wake up. It seems as if she sets an alarm just for this. And everytime you woke up the first thing you saw was her smile and her gaze on you. "Good morning" would always lay on top of you and give you little kisses while you stroked her hair. "I love you" she said it every morning so that you can always be sure. "I love you too"

A/N: Amelia actually needs more fics. Show my girl some love. Okay, now actually about the writing. Gender neutral reader, Amelia is running as always, and reader isn’t standing for it (fight for your girl!).

Loving Amelia Shepherd mentally was easy, natural as breathing air— physically? Not so much.

Amelia is a runner. One sign of anything romantic and she bolts. She’s been hurt too much, rewarded too little. It was the same cycle, falling hard, revealing herself, becoming too much for anyone to handle.

She’s learned that the cycle only stops if you don’t give it any possible chance to repeat.

She’s been off all day ever since you first asked her out.

You swore she was avoiding you too, leaving the attendings’ lounge when you walked in, silent in surgery, even running from hallways when you were near. It was exhausting trying to close the distance between the two of you.

You stepped into the on-call room. The bed creaks as you close the door behind you, Amelia standing up to leave. She moved to walk out, standing in front of you now— but you wouldn’t let that happen again.

You locked the door behind you, placing your hands on her shoulders and pushed her back until her knees hit the bed. Her eyes darted to the door, she could run if she wanted to, but you weren’t above chasing her.

Your hands lingered as you looked her in the eyes. “You’re being weird.”

She looks offended— which just pisses you off. She knows what you’re talking about. “Oh, wow, thanks—“

“You build walls faster than you save lives, Amelia.” You stated.

“Is that a dig at my surgical skills?”

“It’s a dig at your poor attempts at relationships.”

“I don’t want a relationship with you.”

You raised an eyebrow. “But you didn’t reject me.”

That made Amelia pause, her confidence faltering. You have her backed into a corner, and she doesn’t like the loss of control.

It was her first instinct to leave and scramble for control, for anything to keep this from getting too real.

But this already feels too real.

It felt too real the second the second you walked in, the second you reciprocated your feelings, every second you just existed. You completed her, made her feel whole in every way that mattered— and that scared her beyond belief.

Her mouth opens to speak, to deflect, to confess, to yell, to scream—but none of those options comes out. Her mouth closed.

A hand of yours moves from her shoulder to the side of her face, and Amelia finds herself leaning into your touch. It wasn’t intentional, but instinctual.

“You need to talk to me,” you said softly. “You can’t run. Not from me.”

“You don’t get it,” she murmured, dejected. “Everyone leaves eventually. If I don’t let them in, they’ll never have to leave.”

“Do you know how stupid that sounds? I’m here. Do you know miserable life would be if all you thought about was the future?” Your other hand found her face. You leaned into her, trying to envelop her in all your love for her. “I’m here right now.”

“What about when you’re not? What do I do then— how do I survive?” She wasn’t saying it to convince you anymore, rather to search for answers. She was just as uncertain as you.

“How did you survive all the other times?”

For a moment she doesn’t reply. “I didn’t.”

“Let me show you how.”

It was a promise she wanted to desperately to believe. She wanted to just hold onto that and never let go, let herself fall into you.

She inhaled, steeling herself. “Promise you’ll stay.” It wasn’t a request— it couldn’t be. “Promise.”

“I promise.” You said softly, a smile growing on your face. You lean in, brushing your lips against her forehead, then her cheek, and finally, her mouth—soft and sure.

She kisses you back like she’s trying to memorize it, like she’s afraid it’ll disappear.

But it doesn’t. You don’t.

You stay.
