What if We'll meet again was the last song that Scalene sang to Bill?

Maybe she realised Euclydia was being destroyed/turned into 3D and that Bill would survive that alone. So in the last minutes of Euclydia, she did what a good mother would do: try to calm down her son, singing a song that says they will meet again, even if everyone dies know.

Maybe Bill's mother was a singer or played piano, what would explain Bill's love for music.

No idea where they spawned from but here they are! Agnes isn't typically a name I'd use but it somehow fits them?? Might just be me.

I've never had to draw pentagons with any real frequency, as you can imagine, and the jabot tie certianly wasn't any more forgiving (I mean they don't even have necks! How would it even stay up??) (well I do suppose glue is always an option..)

Either way! This was still super fun to design and I might even draw them again if I feel like it.

and another thing i really like about bill is just how truly horrific his life on euclidea must have been. not for the social isolation and bullying and medical abuse, but for the cosmic horror of it.

imagine spending your entire life lying on your back, pinned to the earth below you, and knowing that that is your position. everyone else around you believes their world is whole and complete and perfect but you know. you know there is an Up, you can conceptualize a Below, you can understand an Around. and because there are parts of reality those around you cannot see you become keenly aware that there are parts of reality you cannot see.

you know there could be horrors lurking just outside your visual field, things that can see you but you can't see back. just like the lights that are Up shine down on you but no one can see their light. how terrifying, not knowing what threats may lurk and being aware of that ignorance.

i was thinking about it it yesterday and it struck me as very gerald's game in a way, trapped in one position and know there is More but unable to access it, and how the mind erodes due to the what ifs.

i've always thought of the euclidean massacre as starting with bill acting in self-defense, finally backed too far into a corner, his final stand, he will be abused this far no further.

but what if he wasn't lying when he said he liberated them. what if the what ifs became too big and he snapped, realized he couldn't let his people keep living as sitting ducks in ignorant bliss.

what if bill saw something that terrified him.

we know from journal 3 what its like when 3d beings interact with the 2d world. what if bill saw something he really by all accounts shouldn't have.

i don't know. just the thought of being stuck on my back and seeing the vastness of the room and the world around me and imaging both the beauty and the horrors beyond that is enough to make me shudder. i think it's fun

Okay, so, I decided to mess around in Google while I had my free time and found something interesting:

Remember when bill said?

About that. I decided to look through moths and found one INTERESTING specimen.

STAY WITH ME. Let's list up the coincidences.

FIRST of all: "Euclidia" in the name (I know where that resonates from, I know.)

SECOND of all: Triquetra - "triangular figure"

THIRD of all: That damn moth is yellow shaded with black triangular patters on its wings.

This specific moth would be Fords FAVORITE, in the image of his muse.

He would be so proud of it. [heartbroken] [heartbroken]

okay now let's move to whatever I had in mind later on:

"There is a specialized relationship with host plants is common in moths and it adds a unique ecological dimension to each species, including Euclidia triquerta."

As I read, for Euclidia triquerta it's preferably clovers.

I just imagined Bill being THIS specific moth, while Ford is a four leaved clover. (Clover with four leaves represent "luck and fortune", but in reality this is just the meaning which people assigned to four leaved clover themselves, just for it having something "extra and rare". But in reality It's not any different from avarage three leaved clover. and never will be.)

Back to their relationship:

"together they create a symbiotic relationship where clovers provide a rich and safe food source for the moths, in turn, help with clover's natural ecosystem dynamics, stimulating plant growth."

One helps the other to grow at the end for moth to eat it, because it's nature and that's how it works.

I am ready to make an AU out of this and I don't know how because it will look absolutely ridiculous. Can work with moth but how am I gonna make him a CLOVER......

Bill’s relationship’s part 1

yet another analysis of a human condition, this time in parts :3

I wanna start off this ranty analysis with the relationship between Bill and Mabel, especially after chapter 28, I think it provides some wonderful examples of their relationship, and for the moment I will probably mostly focus on said chapter due to its relevance and recency.

Within this chapter we see Bill attempt to manipulate Mabel in a way we’ve yet to see, one that more resembles how he would control his Henchmaniacs and even other followers he’s had in the past, one that has no other purpose other than to fuel his fragile ego and remind said followers of their worth to him. This is obviously caused by the recent events regarding said Henchmaniacs, Bill is hurt and he’s feeling weak, so he turns to his usual attempts at power play to hold himself above the only member of the family that seems to respect him, at least in his eyes. This could also be an attempt to distance himself from Mabel emotionally as to allow him to continue to manipulate her. And of course, when this fails, he returns to his old habits, and tries to buddy up with Ford again, something he seems to repeatedly do when he feels emotionally isolated, but this isn’t about Ford.

We as the readers have known Bill has had a soft spot for Mabel since he backed out of hurting her further in her mindscape in an attempt to hold further power over her through fear mongering, some might say his emotional dependency on Mabel started when he saved her life, and while I might agree, I see that event more as him keeping his options open with just a hint of that emotional value, one where he sees her as similar and chooses to help, perhaps in a way that mirrors the guilt he may feel for Euclydia, though I may be pushing it there.

Mabel choosing to help Bill understand what it means to be human, or his condition, if you will, is an obvious extension of her guilt towards her previous actions and her analytical nature, sure she’s not as observant as Ford or her Brother, but she’s more emotionally intact than they are and less stubborn for that matter, after all she forgives pacifica quite quickly in the show, and in this fic this appears to continue, choosing to spend time with her outside of the main plot. She’s not nearly as scared of Bill and because of this she sees him for what he is, what Stan is beginning to see him as, pathetic, and ill informed, like a neglected toddler taking his frustrations out on his daycare attendants, yes, he needs to be supervised, but he needs to be supported even more so, and he needs to be taught.

Mabel however foolish her family thinks it is, has undoubtedly begun to trust Bill, but she seems to know how to handle herself against him, I mean the immediate deflection of his recent manipulations shows how surprisingly capable she is, yes Bills approval seems to be important to her, but she doesn’t need it, she has the support of her family, something Dipper didn’t think he had when Bill gets to him in the show, and something Ford certainly didn’t have prior to the show, Bill prays on the weak, and Mable is far from weak.

The way this chapter ends with this connection between Mabel and Bill going from what it was, cautious and not without independent values goes to one that now surpasses this, one where Bill has found a reason for human relationships, one where we as the readers can feel that perhaps Mabel will be safe around him, that perhaps his ill intent will fade as his understanding of human emotions and connections continue, as he starts to separate love and fear. What I found strange was the authors inclusion of their minds embracing one another, it’s a very intimate action that felt out of place for Bill, but the descriptions reminded me of Euclydia, that perhaps this form of bond mimics how Euclydians would engage in such physical contact, such embrace, something unique to Bill, something that truly shows the evolution of their relationship and how dependant he is on her.

My final topic of interest is how Bill didn’t shy away from Mabel after Dippers rant to him, after Dipper got into his head Bill didn’t attempt to manipulate her, didn’t distance himself for his own emotional gain. To me this says that Bill craves this emotional connection, and even if he believes its fake, or believes it to be temporary he will still put in the effort if he deems it important, if he thinks he needs it, even if he tells himself he doesn’t he holds these people close, Mabels sweater to him, now serves another purpose, the same purpose as his hat, and the atom from his home, it’s a reminder of his connection and relationships, although the atom is probably more a manifestation of guilt and the hat is something that pushes him to seek power, due to the sacrifice of wealth it symbolised for his family. But the sweater, that’s just connection, human connection, a form of unnecessary care, something to fill the void the other two items make.

In writing this I was tempted to make this more of an actual analysis with quotes and facts to provide evidence more than the statements that I have made here, however I still enjoyed it and I feel the other parts will be the same, but perhaps when this fic is complete, I shall honour @sapphosscribe with a proper analysis or five :3

I've been thinking a lot about Euclydian biology lately, specifically in regards to pigmentation thanks to this awesome ask I got on a side blog, and wanted to illustrate some of the ideas I had. Super quick lazy sketches but hey, maybe some of you will dig this! Nerdy stuff under the cut, will make a bit more sense if you read the aforementioned post

Euclydians have a genetic predisposition towards a "resting" color (in Bill's case, yellow). The opposite of this state (full "flexing" of chromatophore-controlling muscles) is also predispositioned, which is what's seen in the threat display. This rapidly stimulates the individual's metabolism and gets their blood really pumping in preparation for conflict, but is also somewhat costly in terms of energy, so is typically only flashed rather than maintained as Bill does it

"Teeth-peeking" is the cute zoology term I came up with for when a Euclydian displays a couple teeth overtop their eye without fully switching into mouth-function, usually as a threat but sometimes a sort of stim when they're hungry

Communicative flashing ("Chromatic") has a few languages. The most primitive is Simplified Emotive which is a quick display of mood, while the most modern is Traditional Chromatic, wherein patterns of color serve as words. Words in Traditional Chromatic are not ciphers like they are in TBoB and there aren't always direct translations into English

There are a couple accepted ways for a naturally colorful Euclydian to signal an emotion or "syllable" that matches their color, typically either by a subtler change in value along the edges or by changing everything BUT the edges

It's probably worth noting that Chromatic of any variant is considered a secondary, uncommon language in modern Euclydian society. It's simply more efficient and easier for most to speak, though I think Simplified Emotive probably stems from the natural threat display and so it's more intuitive. It's not unheard of for someone's edges to flash "angry/surprised" (◼) for a second if you bump into them on the sidewalk

A memetic blush is a learned behaviour in which individuals appear to fluster by a reddish shift in color along the face, edges and vertices. This might just be something Bill (or hypothetically other Euclydians who come into contact with humans) does I'm not sure yet but it's cute so

Given the body needs to conserve more energy when fighting illness, it's not uncommon for chromatophore muscles to weaken or spasm in order to lessen metabolic strain, giving the individual a patchy look that often reveals the naturally white skin below the chromatophore layer

When rigor mortis occurs in a dead Euclydian, all the minute muscles in control of chromatophore dilation contract all at once, rendering the entire body white. Because of this, white is considered a bit of a grim color in Euclydian culture; you know emos are wearing all-white instead of all-black

Conversely, a perfect, non-tinted grey is a regal shade because it's seen as a sign of fitness and strength. Maintaining a neutral grey requires very precise control over one's chromatophores to get the balance right and hold it there

Euclydians are capable of training the muscles that control their chromatophores like any other, and as a result can change their resting color with enough discipline! They can also use this technique to give themselves markings. Haven't decided the cultural implications of this entirely, but I think the idea of someone training themselves to match their threat display so nobody can tell when they're angry, for example, is a cool idea. Possibilities!

I saw a post made by @bee-ina-boat for making an Euclydian OC, and wanted to try it out.

I ended making 4 different ones by taking my first answers and use the opposite of them, then picked the median for the both of them and then do the opposite of that. A little confusing but you’ll see what I mean.

Anyway, here’s all 4 OCs (names TBD):

The rectangle one was made by my first answers. Aprons make me think of bakers, so I made this one a baker, which with their multiple arms, would make baking a piece of cake. The personality trait I got was edgy, but I didn’t know how to incorporate that. I imagine they would bake cynical cookies that would say something like “I you stub your toe multiple times today”.

The octagon one was made by the opposite of my first answers. I got the personality trait professional, but got headphones as the accessory. This got me thinking that they could be a really good DJ or Music Producer. I also got extra fingers, so even though I gave the others 4 fingers, I gave this one 6 to make them more obvious.

The trapezoid one was made by finding the median of the first & opposite answers. With the closed eye, curious personality & big boots, I wanted to make a character that was blissfully unaware. They almost have a child-innocence to them, completely unaware of the cosmic horrors around them.

The oval one was made by the opposite of the median answers. The yellow coloring & bowler hat made me think that they could be a rip-off of a rip-off Bill Cipher. They’re a door-to-door salesperson offering questionable items & deals, but is more mischievous than sadistic. A full “live audience” soundtrack follows them everywhere like a sitcom.

I tried to do complementary colors for the accessories to keep them simple.

I don’t have any names for them yet, so feel free to comment your own names & headcanons.

Batshit insane Book of Bill theory :

Euclydia was like (or was) a baby show

We know Euclydia used to look very simple and mostly shapes (the 2D dimension) which is common to this genre but what more ? Well.....

- Bill's blood looks like tv static weirdly enough

- Bill regularly breaks the meta, mentions tv shows and even jokes about them being cancelled as a example of a universe being destroyed

He always had strange ability to recognize the fourth wall which could be because of his strange eye...

- "A flat world, with flat minds"

It could be a joke because in baby shows things are very simple and many characters are very idiotic

- Him being able to see the stars may be because he's literally drawn looking straight foward, meaning he KNOWS that something is out. Yes im calling his 180° degree ass DORA

- All the pre massacre things we have of Euclydia is very kid like and simple, like one of them being a Nursery Rhyme and that Billy boi was the focus of It

A show that got CANCELED after one of the actors left the show. Sounds familiar isn't It ?
