Just because I love them šš
Hi everyone !
Itās just an artwork of my DBZ OC, when she was in Freeza Army
I hope you will love her design as much as me. Oh, maybe.. mmm.. I donāt remember if Iāve already introduce this OC⦠so, just in case, her name is Dress and before Dragon Ball āevents she was in Freeza army as subordinate like Zabon and Dodoria.
I would like to draw her history in comics, but I donāt have the time and the talent required to do that š„²

I was gonna make a post about my personal ranking of every main Z Fighter (as well as a couple extra characters) as of Chapter 103, and it's almost done, but I'm not really feeling it anymore. I think I'll come back to it at another time and start something new instead
Lately I've been trying to figure out how powerful all of the main current Z Warriors are compared to one another using feats and statements from the manga and it's proving to be an interesting question to figure out, expect a post on it relatively soon!
At the time of writing this, we are mere HOURS away from a new gameplay reveal for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero being released to the public. Itās going to be 13 minutes long, meaning weāll most likely be seeing a plethora of new characters, so I wanted to share my personal predictions on who the roster will contain and some of my reasoning behind these choices. I started making this roster a while ago but only finished it a couple days ago, I got a little lazy⦠If they were in a previous game, I likely wonāt talk about them, but there are some exceptions to this. That being said, I wanna tackle probably some of the biggest questions first:
Yep! Thereās a lot of space between Piccolo and the Saiyan Saga. and there are not that many characters in the Saiyan Saga, so it makes sense to add some OG rep in between. Iāll be heavily disappointed if they only give us Kid Goku to represent early DB, itās literally where the franchise started and I hate how little it gets represented in newer games. They seem to be fixing that with Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and Dragon Ball: The Breakers though, so my hopes are high for lots of early DB rep.
Yeah, I really donāt think weāll be getting any of that at launch unfortunately. The roster we got at the end of the rivals trailer seems to be ordered vaguely based on Saga, starting with characters introduced in the kid Goku era like Krillin and Tien in the top left and ending with DBS Broly in the bottom right. With how the already revealed characters are placed, I just canāt see room for them on the base roster.
No again, and thatās mostly because the roster seemingly ends at Broly and Bergamo.
With that out of the way, let me give some justification for specific characters being on here, starting with:
I know sheās a weird choice, but sheād be a great fit imo. She was making laser guns as a kid so her attacks could be themed around that, she could fly with a jetpack, maybe she could even have a barrier special move. She has a lot of outfits from that era that could be used as costumes as well. Thereās just a lot of potential for her in this game and I think itād be a shame if she wasnāt here, though Iād 100% understand if she wasnāt.
I donāt have to justify her much, she was in BT3 after all, but I specifically want the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai version of her character instead of the kid design. Her kid design is just⦠weird, and I think you could do more interesting things with an older version of the character. Super Dragon Ball Z proved she can fit right into a cast on a fighting game perfectly fine using the Bansho Fan, thereās no reason to not be following that formula in the modern era of DB games. This version of the character also appeared in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and Dragon Ball: The Breakers so itās not impossible. Her alternate costumes could even be her appearances from different eras of Dragon Ball, just put her in the game!!
I shouldnāt have to justify Bardock much, he appeared in DBS Broly so he could absolutely get in and this would be the perfect time to put his Super variation on a fighting game roster. The character I probably have to justify more is Gine and, if Iām being honest, sheās mostly just to fill space on the roster, BUT Fasha probably wonāt be in this game and I think having Gine be her spiritual successor on the roster would be cute. Also, they have Great Ape forms because BT3 gave every tailed saiyan a Great Ape form.
Ok heās absolutely just a slot filler but Vegeta DOES mention having a brother in Super so itās not impossible??? He also has a Great Ape form for the same reason as Bardock and Gine. You could realistically substitute him with more OG characters though, maybe Launch and Eighter or something.Ā
Could be literally any Frieza Soldier, I just like him the most. Itās not a Budokai Tenkaichi game without a random Frieza grunt on the roster.
āCāmon man, they could totally just be costumes.ā True, but this is the Budokai Tenkaichi series weāre talking about here. Not to mention they could absolutely have different movesets from their already existing counterparts on the roster. And it DOES fill out the roster quite nicely.
On top of being one of the more recognizable characters from the T.O.P, he was treated like an absolute menace in the show that, if I recall correctly,Ā every remaining member of Team U7 had to gang up on to defeat. Heād also be another giant character which we know are returning, and those are fun to have on the roster.
Sheās not just a slot filler, she actually did shit in the Future Trunks saga. She helped organize the resistance and even tried to snipe Black with an energy bullet, which would be an awesome ultimate attack. She should ABSOLUTELY be in this game.
I started making my list before Kakunsa was revealed, so go me, but my reasoning is that Ribrianne was absolutely going to make it in with how popular she is. Sheās even in Xenoverse, so thereās a precedent for her being in games, and you canāt have her without having her teammates in a game like Sparking Zero. Bergamo is confirmed so Basil and Lavendar are here mostly so the whole Trio can be here.Ā
Heās one of the goofiest characters in DBS and I think would make a great humor-focused character. Iāve seen people want Monaka in the game as a gag character, but gag characters still have to do something in fights and weāve never seen him do anything in a fight. The point is that he doesnāt fight, so his inclusion wouldnāt make much sense.
Heās gonna have a role in Daima, and you could give him some interesting moves based on his power to create things, so he gets a spot.
Babidi has a really unique playstyle in BT3 where landing his grab drains your energy and powers up his ultimate attack, and I think thatās cool enough for him to take a slot in the Buu Saga that really wasnāt being used. Dr. Gero is on here for the same reason, as there arenāt any other characters on the roster with android energy absorption bulbs on their hands, unless Iām forgetting something about a DBS character I included.
Giant forms :) Piccoloās isnāt totally necessary but Bergamoās 100% is.
Yeah I- I forgor. Just completely spaced on his existence. But I didn't wanna redo parts of the roster. Realistically DBS 18, Jaco, and Mai or Anilaza would get dropped for him and his forms. Just ignore it just don't think about it :)
Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2. They donāt really look that visually distinct from each other on my roster though, so I just wanted to point that out.
Iām a strong advocate that Whis shouldnāt be a playable character in fighting games because part of being an angel is that you arenāt allowed to fight in battles. If heās on the roster then whatever but I do not want to see him on there.
Iām operating under the logic that when DBS Goku and Vegeta fuse into Vegito, theyād fuse into the same Vegito from the Buu Saga, and if you use the Buu Arc versions of Goku and Vegeta then Vegito Blue wouldnāt be usable. I was also struggling to fill slots in the Buu Saga and putting him there gave me an extra slot for a Super character.
And thatās really everything I can think to talk about. Iām scrambling to get this out at 2 am right now so I may have forgotten to mention something important, but oh well. Itās been a long time since Iāve been as excited for a game as I have been with Sparking Zero. Everything weāve seen so far looks absolutely fantastic and is building up to make this the best Dragon Ball fighting game ever made in my opinion.
hanvi barbie and ken meme, but switched roles this time!! šš
I donāt think anyone would argue that one of the most recognizable aspects of the Dragon Ball franchise is the transformations the characters tend to undergo. From an old hermit bulking up to an absurd degree to the legendary Super Saiyan, the franchise has its fair share of power ups, but the users of many of these iconic forms usually fall under one category of people - the aforementioned Saiyans.
The Saiyans, across all forms of Dragon Ball media, have over a dozen different transformations, each one becoming more and more powerful than the last. From the simple Great Ape to the lengthily named Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Controlled Berserk (I wish I was making that up), the repertoire of Saiyan forms is immense, but I constantly see two of these forms being compared: Super Saiyan 4 and Super Saiyan God.
Both forms are very iconic, with Super Saiyan 4 being a GT trademark and Super Saiyan God being the first of many new transformations we see in Dragon Ball Super. Iāve seen a multitude of debates online trying to prove that one of these forms is better than the other, so I wanted to throw my hat into the ring and give my take: while I have a personal preference for God, both forms are absolutely incredible at what they attempt to portray in those who use the form, and Iām gonna go a little in depth as to why.
Starting the Super Saiyan 4 section with a little bit of background info, the older of the two forms made its debut in GT during the fight against Baby. To access the form, a Saiyan needs to both have a tail and already be able to transform into a Super Saiyan. They must transform into a Great Ape, turn Super Saiyan on top of that to become a Golden Great Ape, and then control that state to obtain Super Saiyan 4.
Super Saiyan 4 is remarkably different from the previous Super Saiyan forms, sporting no golden hair and instead keeping it back and having it grow far longer and having it cover the userās shoulders, though itās worth noting that Super Saiyan 3ās hairstyle is much longer. To make it more visually distinct, the userās body is also covered in red fur save for parts of their chest, with their tail also turning red and gaining a red trim around their eyes. Curiously, Goku is also turned into an adult when he accesses this transformation, which is explained as a unique property of this form: any user of the transformation has their body reverted (or propelled into) its prime, meaning they will always appear as a young adult. Lastly, different users of SS4 have slightly different looking versions of the form. For instance, Gokuās version of the form has a shade of red fur that has a slight pink hue to it while Vegetaās fur is crimson, and Goku has yellow eyes while Vegeta has blue eyes.
Now that the backstory and design of SS4 has been talked about, itās time to talk a little bit about SSG. Super Saiyan God is a legend closely related to the legend of the Super Saiyan that Frieza feared. The legend involves the Saiyan Yamoshi and his five pure hearted allies battling against the evil hearted Saiyans. Yamoshi actually obtains Super Saiyan, but still loses the battle and his life, and now his spirit wanders through Universe 7 trying to find the Super Saiyan God.
There are only a couple ways for a Saiyan to obtain Super Saiyan God. The first method is a ritual, in which five other pure hearted Saiyans give their power to a sixth, transforming the sixth into the Super Saiyan God. As a side note, this ritual only works because of the wandering spirit of Yamoshi, making it a Universe 7 exclusive phenomenon. The other way for a Saiyan to obtain SSG is to train with god ki, which can typically only be done by training with someone who already possesses godly ki, such as Gods of Destruction.
Super Saiyan God, as a transformation, actually looks quite simple compared to other Super Saiyan forms. The userās hair and eyes turn red, they become slimmer and even look a little younger, and their aura looks like fire. Super Saiyan God, similarly to SS4, also seems to give different users of the forms slightly different shades of red, though itās not nearly as apparent as it is for SS4.
When putting the two forms next to each other, it can be hard to find similarities between them. Both feature some kind of red hair but outside of that, noticeable similarities are sparse, and I think thatās the point. Both forms have to portray entirely separate ideas: the wild nature of the Saiyans and the calmer demeanor of the Gods, and they portray these ideas incredibly well in my eyes. While I do have more of a preference for SSG like I said earlier, itās not hard to see why so many fans of Dragon Ball are allured by the primal look of SS4.
Ultimately though, if you ask me, trying to compare the two to try and prove that one is objectively better is just a waste of time. It feels like God was designed to be the other side of the same coin as SS4, the heads to its tails. Both designs have their strengths and their weaknesses, so at the end of the day, whichever form is āsuperiorā will always be up to viewer interpretation and nothing more.
Just finished reading Chapter 88 of Dragon Ball Super and I really liked it! There's definitely not any deep analysis to be had with it, at least in my opinion, but it's definitely an enjoyable read. Seeing what I think is meant to be a nod to Spiderverse's Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy in Dragon Ball is wildly cool!
Just yesterday, we were informed of the return of the Dragon Ball Super manga and the reveal of its next arc being an adaptation of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero set to start on December 20th. Itās speculated to start with prequel events that will lead up into the events we see take place in the film. While I donāt think anything that happens in the movie will change drastically in the manga, I think starting the arc with these prequel events is a fun way to adapt the arc!
The arc will feature Goten and Trunks becoming super heroes, and itās nice seeing the two of them get something to do! Iām hoping we get to see other characters that appear in the movie like Android 18 and Krillin during these prequel events as well, as the Granolah arc really didnāt feature a whole lot of characters and itās been a while since weāve seen everyone else in the manga. I just wanted to take a second to theorize about what may happen during the āprequelā section of the arc as I think thereās a lot they could do there.
Videl hasnāt had very many moments to shine in DBS compared to other characters, so I think this could be a very good opportunity to show us more of her character. Iām not expecting her to fight Cell Max or anything, obviously something like that wouldnāt happen, I just think itād be cool (and also pretty likely) that weāll get to see a bit of her in this arcās prequel events. We learn that she teaches martial arts at a school now during the movie, so maybe weāll get a glimpse at the school? Who knows, I just think itād be a neat addition to add in there.
Marron, like Videl, is another character who we havenāt seen a ton of in DBS, and I think weāll see at least a brief appearance of her. If we do, itās also very likely that sheāll have a new design similar to Goten and Trunks, as the last time we saw her was during the Tournament of Power if my memory serves me correctly, and at least 2 years have passed since then. If she does get a new design, itās likely sheāll look similar to how she did during the End of Z, as the time when EoZ takes place is approaching in universe.
Gohan states during the movie that he spent some of his spare time practicing the Makankosoppo in order to surprise Piccolo, but we never got to see him practice the technique. If the prequel events turn out to be more relaxed compared to the Granolah arc, itās possible we could see him practicing the technique.
While Gotenks making an appearance in an arc that puts focus on Goten and Trunks makes sense, I doubt weāll see him during the prequel events. The two of them messing up and merging into fat Gotenks during the movie tells me that the duo havenāt been practicing the technique much and have gotten rusty, so for them to pull it out during the prequel section, fuse into Gotenks perfectly, and then proceed to botch the technique during Cell Max would just be weird, at least in my opinion. The possibility of him appearing before the main events of Super Hero is still there though, so I figured Iād just bring it up. Iād definitely be nice to see a properly formed teenage Gotenks in action, though!
While I donāt think this arc is going to be anything mind blowing, I think doing a Super Hero arc instead of immediately diving into a āBlack Friezaā arc is for the best. Iām hoping itāll be a good mix of action and slice of life content without stretching on for too long like the Granolah arc did. Ultimately weāll just have to wait until December when the arc starts to see how it goes, but regardless like I said originally, itās nice to see Goten and Trunks getting something to do in the manga, it feels like itās been way too long since theyāve been relevant.
If you read all this, thank you! I just wanted to spend some time speculating on this as Iām very excited to see the DBS manga finally return. Iām still planning on doing a Sonic Frontiers review like I stated previously and Iām still working on writing other Dragon Ball related things, Iām hoping to have at least one of those out soon!

Dragon Ball is a show with many different power altering techniques and transformations, from Kaioken to Super Saiyan to even fusion. Knowing this, many characters use these different forms and techniques in their goal of attaining further strength. But which is the best and why is it the best? If you were to ask me, that honor would go to the Ultimate form.
The Ultimate form has been and is known as many things throughout Dragon Ballās lifespan: Potential Unleashed, the Mystic form, Power Unleashed, Power Awakening, and obviously Ultimate. Essentially, the form draws out all of a personās hidden potential and even heightens a person's senses, as Gohan was able to see without his glasses after transforming in Super Hero, but his eyesight reverted to being poor once he powered back down into his base form. As if that wasnāt enough, the form seemingly doesnāt take any stamina away from the wielder to use. The form is typically gained through enduring Elder Kaiās ritual, but Piccolo showcased the ability to be granted the form from Shenron via a wish.
In no uncertain terms, the power that this transformation can grant its user is absurd. Gohan was able to outclass Super Saiyan 3 Gokuās power as soon as he received the form, beat Super Buu before he absorbed Gotenks, and after further training in Dragon Ball Super it was shown to be able to keep up with Super Saiyan Blue.
As if the form wasnāt crazy enough, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero gave us the fun information that just like Super Saiyan, the Ultimate form can evolve into separate, more powerful transformations. While this has caused some confusion in the fanbase, as the Ultimate form is already supposed to draw out all of a personās latent potential, episode 90 of the DBS anime implies that Super Saiyan can be combined with the Ultimate form.
My point being that just because the Ultimate form brings out all of your latent potential doesnāt mean that your power canāt be further amplified. That being said, I think thatās what these evolved forms are doing: simply amplifying the userās power after bringing forth their latent potential.
But thatās not all these evolved forms have to offer. When I said ājust like Super Saiyan, the Ultimate form can evolve into separate, more powerful transformationsā, I didnāt mean something like an Ultimate 2, Ultimate 3, etc etc, I meant that everyone who evolves their Ultimate form gets a transformation (seemingly) entirely unique to them. While itās never directly stated why in Super Hero, I think the reason is pretty obvious: the transformations are themed around the sources of the characterās potential, and different characterās potentials come from different places. Gohanās Beast form is unlocked in a moment of rage at seeing Piccolo hurt by Cell Max, just like the rage boosts he would experience as a child.
Piccoloās potential comes from his Namekian heritage, but more specifically, his fusions with Nail and Kami. Think about it: his Orange form was granted to him by Shenron, the eternal dragon originally created by the Nameless Namekian who would eventually split into Piccolo and Kami. By fusing back with Kami, that means that Piccolo has returned to being the Nameless Namekian, so Shenron helping out his creator with a new transformation makes sense. You could also argue that Piccoloās fusions not only made him stronger in the moment, but increased his potential, allowing him to grow further and faster than he would have been able to without undergoing them, but thatās a discussion for another time.
It should come as a shock to no-one reading that these transformations are ridiculously powerful. Given how Gohanās Ultimate form allowed him to keep pace with Gokuās Super Saiyan Blue, amping the power of the form beyond that is insane to think about, and itās no small amp either. Before Gohan obtained the form, he seemed pitiful in comparison to Cell Max, but once he transformed he was able to tank a punch from Cell Max without even flinching. I think itās safe to say that the amp in power provided by Gohanās Beast form outclasses the amp that Gokuās Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken x20 amp gives him, which putting it simply means that I think that Beastās amp is greater than x20 the power Gohanās Ultimate form provides him.
Orange Piccolo isnāt as powerful as Gohan, but that doesnāt mean heās a slouch either. The Orange form gives Piccolo enough power to easily defeat Gamma 2, who was stronger than him in his Ultimate state. I donāt think itās a stretch to say that the Gammas are stronger than Android 17 who, get this, was also able to fight evenly with Gokuās Super Saiyan Blue form. Given how Orange Piccolo knocked out Gamma 2 with one punch, Iām gonna go out on a limb here and say that Piccoloās Orange form gives him a similar amp to Gohanās Beast form. Iām not saying that Orange Piccolo and Beast Gohan are equal in power, just that the amp their forms provide are similar.
So letās summarize the main points just to make sure we got everything nice and tidy: the Ultimate form draws out all of the userās latent potential with minimal to no stamina usage which can be further amplified by other powers, such as Super Saiyan. The form can also evolve into a new, unique form depending on the source of your potential, and these evolved states amplifies the userās already drawn out power to ludicrous levels.
And that does it, really. Thatās why I think Ultimate is the, well, ultimate form to strive for to increase your power in the world of Dragon Ball. I donāt really know how to end this other than saying that this is just my interpretation of the forms based on the information I know about Dragon Ball and that if you have a different interpretation then more power to you. Iām not trying to convince anyone that they have to agree with me, just sharing my own personal thoughts and ideas. I plan to write more short essay stuff like this as well, I think my next one will be talking about the human Z-Fighters!
If youāve read this far, thank you so much! This is the first time Iāve ever sat down and wrote something like this and while Iām not expecting it to do super well, itās cool knowing that maybe someone will read it and agree with me. If you see this, have a great day!

King Coldās emotional stability stems from the fact that, aside from his special feelings toward his family, he treats everything else with friendliness but detachment. Itās very difficult for him to truly fall in love or form genuine emotional bonds with others. Outside of his family, he simply doesn't careāand because he doesnāt care, he has no strong emotions: no love, no hatred, no resentment, no sorrow, no joy.
He maintains a mild, gentle friendliness toward everything. He would never actively seek to do harm , but if he had to, he wouldnāt particularly mind either. That said, if he can avoid it, he would prefer not to do so.
He doesnāt care about life or death outside of his family. However, unless absolutely necessary, he rarely resorts to violence and generally avoids killing. His moral standards are very different from those of ordinary peopleāessentially, he has almost none. He doesnāt see his actions as āwrong,ā though he definitely does not enjoy doing unpleasant things. Still, if it must be done, it doesnāt trouble him.
King Coldās inhuman aura comes from his extreme stability, health, and gentlenessāhe is too normal. His demeanor resembles that of someone who grew up in a happy, healthy family, even though his actual experiences were anything but. Itās precisely this overwhelming normalcy, despite everything he has been through, that makes him feel so eerily inhuman.
(Chinese translate to English by Chat gpt might not be accurate)
Frieza, in essence, does have a better temper than Cooler, and compared to Cooler, his personality is indeed softer. In this regard, Frieza most closely takes after King Cold.
Frieza despises gods; he sees them as irresponsible, lazy, and useless. He especially hates Beerus, though he still has to obey himāpartly because he canāt defeat him, and partly because he acts as Beerusās proxy (the scapegoat for destruction).
Before Beerus ordered him to wipe out the Saiyans, Frieza actually had no intention of destroying them. After all, they still had plenty of value left to extract. Frieza had even invested a lot of money into them, building schools and hospitals. The Saiyans hadnāt even finished paying back the debts they owed him.
