In December I ran a Google Form looking to compare the official Bioware player statistics to those of the tumblr fandom. I received 3031 unique responses, and am now making the results available to you! This was a solo endeavor and I'm so grateful to every single one of you for your participation! All I ask in return is that we keep it positive: this was a fun project, let's keep it that way!
The results are in graphic form under the cut (alt text is available for every graphic). I have also captioned them with the official Bioware stats for comparison purposes where applicable. You can view the raw data in the form of a Google Sheet here. Please note that these results contain major endgame spoilers.
Thank you again, please reblog for reach!

Just imagine if rook was varric's adopted child I just started DAV but just picture it, rook calling varric old man varric calling rook kid. I might make a story about it
I would die for this man.

PLEASE tell me you guys have heard this……Cullen’s isolated vocals from The Dawn Will Come.
Imagine him singing the Chantry songs, outshining all the other templars and royally pissing them off.
MY HEART.
It’s unpopular opinion monday! :D
(please don’t come for me Cullenites. I like the guy, don’t take this too seriously, I just have a soft spot for the nasty angry goblin man. Bioware did him dirty! :c)
This series started as a way to get me comfortable illustrating different skin tones & to build up palettes for all the characters. But I’m finding myself really digging doing the quick portrait sketches.
I’m taking a stand and I refuse to sit back down
you are the hero of ferelden. no matter your origin you watch those you love most be ripped from you. death becomes an endless cycle which seems to follow you wherever you go. the fate of the world rests on your shoulders as you know you can never return home. home is gone now. home is buried with your family, jailed with your closest ally, cradled by the ancestors, forgotten like your beloved, lost to time in the murky glass of the eluvian- dead in your arms, killed at your hand. you are the hero of ferelden and it is your destiny to die. when next the world falls apart, you do not come. this world does not deserve your pity.
you are the champion of kirkwall. you are a refugee, cold and hungry and sold into labour. your mother hates you, though she will never say it. it's your fault the ogre killed your sibling, your fault the taint took the other. but you are happy. you have everything, friends and family and status and riches. you defeat the people plaguing your glorious city, you are the people's hero. you will always know even as she came back, isabela left you to die. you are happy but you are alone. you have everything and then you are rocking back and forth begging please please please do not take my mother as well. you have nothing, but you for a single second, you had everything. you are the champion of kirkwall, and your ally has blown up the chantry. where is your home now that everything is your fault?
you are the herald of andraste. and you are so, so scared. these people do not trust you, do not like you, would feed you to the fade if they could. they do not care if you follow another religion, you are their herald. you can never return home because heroes do not have homes. they say home is the people you choose, but you didn't choose these people, did you? every step you take aches. thousands reach out to touch you, for safety. for comfort. you are a black hole close to destruction, and you cannot do this. you are the herald of andraste and you have not been yourself for so long now.
I'm kinda sad Elves don't have big eyes anymore bc one of the many reasons I love the reveal that all ancient elves used to be spirits is because Mythal, when trying to convince Solas to get a body like her, says something like "perfect in both spirit and body", implying that these spirits, when picking out their bodies, saw these big anime bug eyes and said YES, THAT
@beccacoffindaffer Hey lookit, lore
I mentioned here before that Solas and the Dread Wolf were originally separate.
Soals: I must hold back the blight! My wolf will distract Elgar'nan while you take the dragon!
And it seems at the Crossroads we could see another memory of Solas, how his connection with the wolf happened.
That happened long ago, right? Echoes of the past I think. Just stay out of their way. Some are not happy Solas is here. Why has Solas called for us? Perhaps seeking help? He requested the Dread Wolf. Very serious indeed.
Why would I ever bond with you? I need your strength. You need a challenge. You think you'll control me once we unite. No, but I suspect you desire the reverse. Hence the challenge. Hmm. This could be fun.
Nice. Why does he get to be part wolf? Did I see that right? The Dread Wolf is a separate spirit from Solas? Yeah. Seems like Fen Harel is a merging of the two.
Keeping the original post's tags below because they are so fucking right
in my heart of hearts the mythal in the crossroads is 6 feet tall, horned, decked out in armor fitting a self-appointed goddess borne from primordial war and a giant fuck-you dramatic feathered cape. it hurts to look at her directly. out of the corner of your eye you swear the shadow she casts is in the shape of a dragon. she's been stewing in resentment for so long the air just always smells like a wildfire and lightning strikes. ya'll remember the fucking puzzles in her temple? you wouldn't be able to just walk up to her and start talking to her, idc how long it's been since she's had petitioners.
if you want me to believe in the "like holding a piece of the sun" line you have to do better than the pajama-wearing default character creator template num 9 that we actually got.
You cannot tell me that Mythal wasn't being set up from ORIGINS to be the final enemy if they'd gotten to make all 5 games, the real puppetmaster all along, and I am so upset that we didn’t get that because she was well on her way to becoming a fantastic villain
The problem with liking Mythal as a character is...
On one hand you have the fandom hating her because she's a woman and Solas loved her, which some people for some reason thinks this somehow detracts from his capability of loving Lavellan???
On the other hand you have BioWare straight up forgetting that she was in fact a terrible person too. One minute they say the vallaslin were all slave markings, therefore meaning Mythal had slaves? Next minute you have Solas saying "she was the best of them" and then all of Veilguard acting like she was some benevolent poor woman caught in the middle of everything and not an active participant?
But alas if you really think about Mythal, she becomes incredibly interesting if you like complex female characters, which I am fully convinced is an accident on BioWare's part lmao...
Anyway I support women's wrongs, so
For those who have seen this a couple of times already, I apologize 😅. Since my blog is no longer shadow banned, I wanted to repost it now that I'm visible

Glad to see you've found my little pocket of Tumblr. I thought it'd be nice to have a 'get to know me' post. I decided to create my blog so that I could connect to the communities I write for, share and appreciate art, and maybe throw out my thoughts from time to time. You can call me SJ or Vulpine, or if you point and say "hey, you", that works, too. I go by sapphirejournalist on ao3.

Unfortunately, while I write a lot, I tend to only focus on one story at a time. I really try not to start works I won't finish. I'm looking forward to posting more in the future, but I find it overwhelming to try and juggle posting multiple stories at once.
If you're interested, please always feel free to ask me about my works and characters! I'd to talk to any readers who have thoughts they'd like to share. In the meantime, thanks for dropping by, and have a lovely day/night

my personal dragon age canon goes like
Origins: guy with a supernatural amount of rizz accidently becomes important at work and sigmas their way through gathering enough insane people to support them while they cure the super plague by beating the fuck out of it
2: worlds saddest wettest refugee has so much parentified older sibling energy that a bunch of freak outcasts imprint on them because they all live in Facism City where Everything is Fucked and Everybody Sucks
Inquisition: guy gets kidnapped by the pope's personal assistant to serve as Jesus 2 but it's fine because as it turns out if christians think you're Jesus 2 they'll do whatever you ask them to. which is really helpful if you happen to be the only competent person trying to prevent reality from unraveling
Veilguard: local intern accidentally becomes boss by being just so goddamn full of love that they can just bat their eyelashes and people keep pledging fealty to them and following them home. Their love for the world itself burns so bright and true that they not only kill 2 gods (with the power of friendship and this knife they found) but guilt trip the worlds #1 sunken cost fallacy truther into giving up his genocidal thousand year plan to go sit in time out
Thought I'd try reblogging this, since Tumblr is being dumb about my posts not showing up in tags. If you've seen this already, please ignore, lol

Everything that's wrong with Solas could have been solved if he'd spent a single moment of his life on the floor of a women's bathroom at the club at 3 am. Thousands of years of regret? No problem: this drunk girl with runny mascara just told him "FUCK them all. You're fucking beautiful. You did nothing wrong ever. Your head is so shiny." Boom. Cured.
He would end up crying hysterically in the arms of, like, five hyper-supportive twenty-somethings. They would do his make-up. He would never look back.

i appreciate that i saw both of these on my dash within about five posts of each other. we’re gonna need both moods going forward, tbh.
Neither dragon was hurt, but here's what about these two...
