Day 26- Fear
Ever since she was assigned to the Red Girl case, Mary has developed severe insomnia and scopophobia
OC-tober Day 21: social week day 1!
This is gift art for one of @sweetcreme 's OC's, The Red Girl.
I'm really intrigued by the project this character is from, Machine Hunter LOUP, and I was inspired by the detail that The Red Girl is upset by broken machines and technology.
Thank you for engaging with my oc-tober posts :) I hope you enjoy this fun little gif!
Day 20- Inventory
Mary tends to pack light, carrying little more than her ID, sidearm, some backup batteries for said weapon, and a few vials of emergency medical nanomachines.
Day 18- swap
Mary King and Red Girl Species swap with the most on the nose choices I could make.
Day 16- Food
The Red Girl appears human, but lacks common sense, and insists that they have never slept or eaten before.
Looking at Her it would explain a few things.
Day 15-Meme + Day 19-Inspiration
I went with the inspirations behind the character instead of anything that inspires them personally.
Day 13- Peachy palette
Pomme worked in hydroponics on the Angel Nest, and on the surface has been struggling to adapt to the old fashioned soil based farms, and trying to make viable crops from wild plants
Day 12- Midnight Zone palette
The Stranger is an antagonist in Machine Hunter LOUP. They walk the line between vandalism and terrorism while dressed in LOUP gear, a real P.R. nightmare
Day 11- Hot Cocoa palette
Red Girl and attempted fisheye, I might be a bit too colorblind for this palette
Day 10- Pumpkin patch palette
Laika again, she works as a Guardian, the catch all term for security guards, monster hunters, and search and rescue teams in the old frontier
Day 9- Future
Luna Ascendant
In the setting Luna is from, witches are functionally immortal and take on traits from their specialty as time goes on.
After enough centuries a witch loses their humanity and becomes a demigod-like being, this is Luna long after the story I planned for Her, but not quite so long as to leave her completely detached from mortals.
Day 8- Past
Laika and Pomme on the Angel Nest.
The setting for The Old Frontier is the reclamation of ruins on the planet's surface by the survivors of a utopian space colony following a disaster known as the StOS (surface to orbital strike)
Two Characters I made for the setting are Laika and Pomme, fiances who met before the disaster on the ring shaped space station (Angel Nest) and survived to find each other on the surface. One of their favorite date spots was an orchard with a fixed planet facing window, looking at a world they never expected to visit and sharing a piece of fruit.
Day 7- Personality
The Red Girl rumors describe an expressionless ghost like figure silently witnessing Rampant Machine attacks, or talking to constructs before disappearing.
The Red Girl that Mary has found is (relatively) expressive. Prone to uncomfortable and stilted attempts at flirting(?) as well as quiet displays of anger when encountering damaged or abandoned machines. Underneath all of these behaviors is a deeply obsessive nature and lack of boundaries.
Day 6- Symbol
Little Red Riding Hood has always been my favorite fairy tale, and Machine Hunter LOUP is my latest go at playing with the themes and images from it, as well as classic sci-fi anime like Jin Roh, Armitage III, and Bubblegum Crisis.
I plastered the LOUP logo- an exaggerated, minimalist set of wolf fangs all over the equipment and uniforms, and tattooed it on Mary's right arm because subtlety has never been my forte.
Day 5-Relationships
Mary doesn't have any relatives to speak of, and couldn't tell you their neighbor's names, but they have a sense of camaraderie with other LOUP agents, and deep bonds with the other surviving members of the defunct LOUP Special Operatives such as their partner Issac.
Behind closed doors, She is becoming increasingly obsessed with the Red Girl case, and the Red Girl is obsessed with her too.
Day 4 is re-design, and Mia and Jenna have been redesigned plenty over the years.
Almost as old as Super Kitty, Mia and Jenna have always been meant as a couple from their days as Sonic fan characters, to their years as amorphous furries/catgirls pictured here.
Most recently I adapted them to my hopeful Post-apocalyptic setting The Old Frontier. Mia is always an archaeologist disabled in an accident, Jenna always struggles to pick a career, and they were roommates.
Oldest OC goes to Super Kitty, who I made up when I was between 4 and 6? They're basically just Superman's fursona, but baby me thought that was the height of parody.
My Favorite OC is definitely Mary King, an agent of the private anti-robot military known as LOUP.
Reckless to a fault in combat, but bordering on stoic in Her day to day life Mary is currently investigating an urban legend about a girl in red who appears when Machines go "Rampant"
