“this is so useless!” you smack your hands to your face, groaning in frustration.
this weekend, there’s going to be an exhibition where every student of eden’s garden academy will present a work they do based on their ultimate, something for everyone to use to close the year. they were given 6 months to do it, and everyone truly worked their asses off to finish it. though apparently, it wasn’t enough time for some people. including yourself.
damon comes up to you, putting a hand on your shoulder and rubbing it. “hey, what’s the matter? calm down” he says gently.
you sigh, calming down a little just from his presence. “nothing… well okay, it’s something. i’m so frustrated that my work still isn’t done till now. 6 months just wasn’t enough and i—”
“okay, okay, slow down. what do you even need help with? what’s not done?” he sits down next to you.
“like—half of everything. you have no idea how hard this is to do. i underestimated how difficult it would be to work on this alone” you sigh, rubbing your forehead with closed eyes, an irritated expression on your face.
“i mean… it is supposed to be a personal project. the best help you can get is from your parents” damon shrugs, still doing slow motions on your shoulder with one hand.
“yeah but i don’t know how to ask for help, unfortunately” you groan, damon rolls his eyes.
“so that’s where the problem lies…” he responds, you grumble.
“not only that, but look at this display” you gesture to what’s in front of you, a table half empty and not fully decorated. “it sucks so bad! literally what do i do” you hide your face in your hands again.
“it’s not that bad. here i can help, i’m done with my display so i’ll help with yours” damon stands up from the empty seat, walking over to your display. he talks as he runs his hands around the table, mentally marking up spots. “look, we can add a table cloth, then maybe put a little handwritten explanation of your work here… and you can add that there… i can see a good vision. it’s not over for you” he turns around to face you again.
you sit on the chair, a little taken aback by how much he’s willing to try and help. “thanks. i appreciate it”
“anyway, we have some time. go finish as much as you can, today’s only prep day anyway” he approaches you again, patting your shoulder. “good luck, i’ll help with the display while you finish the product” he says.
you sigh, dear god. you might be down bad now that he’s actually sparing time to help you, specifically you with your display. and spoiler, but thanks to his help your display actually ended up looking pretty good on the day of the exhibition. i guess that’s what happens when one of the ‘responsible kids’ give you a helping hand.

damon maitsu’s ultimate talent is debating, not dating. which is why despite being the self proclaimed smart guy, he’s struggling (almost terribly). not to a point where it’s annoying or a hassle in any way though, thankfully it’s stupidly endearing.
after every choice, he thinks back to his parents. oh how sweet and kind his parents are to give him advice on how to not mess up a date.
‘make sure to be a gentleman compliment them!’ his mother says. then, his dad perks up. ‘yeah, hit ‘em with a good pickup line or two!’ he exclaimed cheerfully. right at the doorframe his mother adjusts his suit while his dad watches with a smile. her hands run along the soft fabric, a material both she and her husband are familiar with as they made this very suit he’s wearing tonight. ‘don’t forget what we’ve told you, alright?’ his mother says.
he absolutely did not forget.
“ah, hello? earth to damon?” you call out, waving your hand in front of him. he quickly blinks, seeming restless.
“huh? oh, yeah?” he perks, you quirk your brows. you look at him confused, though you’re actually more worried.
“you were definitely spacing out, are you okay? is this date… boring?” you asked nervously. you don’t want to hear him agree.
“no! not at all. i- uh-” his eyes wonder around, from you to the table then everything else. he’s looking for something, anything that can… oh he’s got just the thing. “a-are you a rose? cause you’re as beautiful as ever” he lets out an awkward laugh. he noticed the jar of roses sitting in the middle of the table, and decided to use his dad’s advice now.

suddenly you laugh. bright and stunning — you laughed at his stupid joke. his heart was struck.
“hahah! damon, where’d that come from? that’s… sweet. thank you” you smile at him, and reach out to hold his hand. “i didn’t know you were one for pickup lines… hm. i like your outfit, i think it really suits you” you giggle, and so does he. oh how your heart feels warm too. “actually that counts more as a pun, huh?”
he shakes his head. “no, it’s okay. it has the same effect. but thank you, my parents made it for me”
you gave a surprised expression. “really? wow! they must be very talented. no wonder their son is too”
damon blushes again. “yeah they’re… they’re pretty good. thank you for acknowledging my talent, even if it’s boring sometimes”
“no way!” you protest. “you’re anything but boring. c’mon, how about you tell me a little more about how you got into debate and all, let me hear all about you, maitsu”
god damon was gonna be a flustered mess by the end of this dinner date. the one thing his parents didn’t tell him to do was keep his composure. so… maybe it’s okay if he loses it a little, right?
“okay. well, it all started when i was in elementary…”

"Whew, that was a heck of a party. Good thing that it wasn't that chaotic in a bad way......Hm?"
As Mayari walked into the room after the party, she spotted the two items that weren't on her table before leaving her dorm room, a letter that's addressed to her and a very familiar flower.
"Is this...... a Lunar Tear? And here I thought I'd never see one again... But then again, the gachapon managed to have a lot more unusual things than this..."
She picked up the Lunar Tear and gently caressed it with a small smile and glanced over the letter. Wondering what the contents are, she reached out to the letter and opened it. And it read:
"To my dear classmate, Mayari
To my friend, Mayari
Mayari, by the time you read this, you've probably made it back safely from the party. I thought of giving you this note and the....."Lunar Tear", I believe it's called? because someone told me that whenever you were offered gifts by those who you gifted, you'd try to insist that you don't deserve to have them. So, I figured leaving these two items in your dorm room without you noticing would be the best option. Until you find out who sent you this letter and flower, I hope you'll hold onto them and understand that you DO deserve to have precious things as much as you give that to others. If you don't believe it, then..... just don't do anything that's reckless and stupid, alright?"
Just as the letter said, there was no name of the sender. Mayari's eyebrows furrowed in thought. How did this person know about the Lunar Tear? Was this gift a prank or something they'd lose a bet on? What is their real goal of doing this? Countless questions flowed into her mind before she shook her head. Nevermind, she should probably save those thoughts for another day. For now, she should wash up and rest. As she placed back the letter and the Lunar Tear, she thought out loud of the words that stood out the most and gave out a wry smile to herself,
"I deserve to have precious things as much as I give others that, huh?"

I attempted to incorporate an anchor onto the "T" while making it look aesthetic. I replaced the moon onto the top of the i and I turned the o into a little birb. :3

The C was supposed to be a dragon, do you see it? In the C is the dragon's breath, but also a v line of birds, and it also looks like a chill smiley face. There is a little flower and a star on the points respectively. There was a lot more on the original than this one, but I wanted to make it concise and I also wanted to save some for his Chinese/Pinyin signature.
