the ones who:

-say dark things without realizing

-talk to themselves

-have homicidal thoughts

-get really, really angry

-make others uncomfortable on accident

-don't tolerate bullshit

-can't/won't mask

-have dark interests

-have genuinely hurt others before

-have been in a psych ward before

-obsess over people

-have intrusive thoughts about hurting people

-have sexual intrusive thoughts

-don't really care about others much

-always choose themselves first

-have low/no empathy

-are seen as creepy or scary by others

this goes out to my folks with autism that isn't "uwu cute". personality disorder havers. schizospec people. ocders. odd and ied havers. and anyone and everyone else.

this post does not support intentionally hurting people. but people who have hurt others in the past and have changed or are trying to change/in the process of changing are more than welcome here.

One thing I love about erasermic as a ship is how both the characters aren’t infantilised in the majority of cases.

Like, it’s sun/moon troupe, but the moon isn’t an uwu pastel anxiety boi. And the sun isn’t sunshine happy rainbow who is incapable of intelligent thought. Both are grown-ass adults who spend their lives fighting crime, but who also have incredible capacity for care and love and appreciation.

I do see an occasional tendency to dismiss Mic, because he looks like a loud dumb blonde, but I’ve seen more and more authors looking at Mic from a more manipulative, cutthroat angle and I’m living for it. This ship has largely been taken in an incredibly mature and nuanced light that the BNHA fandom lacks in a lot of areas.

(If you’re looking for some brilliant characterisation of Present Mic, AWeeBitRustyEh on ao3 is your lord and saviour. They’ve also written some other great works such as ‘A Line Drawn in the Sand’. 100/10 absolutely recommend. Manipulative Mic brainrot is a rabbit hole that you’ll never truly escape, but I would love you to join me there.)

I think a lot of this outlook is due to the fact that both characters are adults with a fairly strong/stable in-canon character relationship. Still, it’d be nice to see some other ships as well written as this one tends to be.

Aizawa is so good at dodging Mic's wild gesturing even while mummified because the one time Hizashi accidentally smacked him in the mouth in their UA days he took it as a personal challenge to get better reflexes and demanded Hizashi keep doing it until he could effortlessly dodge all of them

Oboro judged him severely for having the weirdest gay flirting he'd ever seen in his life

Humans understand that for a lot of alien species, baring teeth is a sign of aggression, so we all learn to smile with our mouths closed but then we meet an alien species that think "that thing you guys do with your face muscles" is as adorable as we think a cat doing a blep is and then only finding out (with horror) way later that when we smile at each other we bare our teeth and that's a sign of friendliness and happiness we do to each other among members of our own species.

Imagine being an alien recently assigned to a new ship and there's multiple humans on this crew and you're like "Yes! I hope these humans do the 'smile' thing it's so adorable" and then you watch two humans hanging out and they're baring their teeth at each other and you're like "oh no the predators are gonna fight this is bad" until someone else on the crew notices you turning distressed colors and is like "No that's what their smiles look like when they smile at each other" and the you're suddenly very intimated by the fact that the persistence predators bare their teeth at each other when happy.
