"It was no State secret that the King disliked travelling abroad. From the end of the war until his death 17 years later, he spent scarcely more than 8 weeks overseas; 5 of them on an enforced Mediterranean cruise after a bout of bronchitis, the rest on reluctant official visits to France, Belgium and Italy. Nor did the Queen ever undertake a foreign tour alone, even during the 17 years of her widowhood"
The clip above is from when George and Mary meet the Pope, during their visit in Italy in 1922
"You have never left me for a single day since that sad event. I fear darling my nature is not demonstrative, but I want you to understand, that I am indeed grateful to you, for all you have done these busy months for me & I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your love & for the enormous help & comfort which you have been to me in my new position.
I can't imagine how I could have got on at all without you, I shall never forget it...My love grows stronger for you every day mixed with admiration & I thank God every day that he has given me such a darling devoetd wife as you are....God bless you my sweet Angel May....''
George V to Queen Mary in October 1910, their first separation since he became King when he went up to York Cottage for a few days
get some sense of humor liberals and democrats. You are boring
The haters and losers, they came with their guns. Guns they want to ban by the way. Very sad. They shot me but missed. Badly. They only clipped my ear. I said to the doctor afterwards, great doctor by the way. The best. I said "I've got two ears but I'm sure I can do without one. I can win an election with one ear and Biden wouldn't even win with three." He laughed and said "sir, I've never seen someone heal from a gunshot wound so quickly." The quickest, I hear folks. The quickest. It's an incredible thing.
This sprawling 1930 home in Fennville, Michigan, only has 3bds and 1.5ba, just like an average home, but it's listed for $2.9M. So, what is taking up all the space in this huge home?
Oh, well for one thing, it's got to be this great room. Most of the letters fell off the blocks on the balcony, but it says "Showstoppers." There's a wood burning stove in the corner, and according to the floorplan, this is a living room.
Here're spiral stairs going up to a mezzanine and there's a carpeted area. The floorplan says that this is a sitting room.
It looks like there was hot tub here, but all that's left is the cover.
Across from the hot tub is a shower and maybe that's a sauna behind the door.
This is the half bath.
Well, the kitchen needs a remodel. You could probably get away with painting the cabinets and changing the hardware, but the walls. I wonder if you could open up that brick fireplace and if the cabinet is going around it and it's intact. Wouldn't it make a great pizza oven?
Back to the Showstopper room, the mezzanine has a very large space with a terrace.
According to the 2nd level floorplan this is a sitting room.
There are definitely bedrooms above the hot tub room.
And, these are bedrooms #'s 2 & 3.
The full bath is on the 2nd level.
The primary bedroom. It has a little sink in the corner, b/c the only full bath is upstairs.
This room has a bar. At least that's what I think it is. It also looks like it says "Showstoppers" on the fireplace, too, and it's the family room.
Here's the dining room. According to the floorplan, that's the back of the fireplace that's in the kitchen.
And, the sunroom.
On the side of the house is a 2 car garage.
The property is 5.2 wooded acres on Lake Michigan.
There's also a cute little log cabin on the property.
I don't know how far Lake Michigan is from the house, but this is a picture of it.

All happy pinning medals ❤️🥰
This stunning ring, featuring two sapphires set in diamonds, was a gift from Queen Victoria to her granddaughter-in-law, Mary (later Queen Mary), on the day of the christening of her eldest child, Prince Edward of York (later Edward VIII) in 1894. ~ RCT
